After watching 2 other videos without success, these instructions worked perfectly! If only I had found your video first, could’ve saved myself a lot of time. Thanks for the help!
These Instructions WORKED Perfectly On TWO Cars. I tried doing this following OTHER Instructions on my wife's Santa Fe about 3 years ago. It didn't work I believed it was just and "old opener" I didn't even bother on here 2019. I just got my 2022 Tucson and on a whim I searched and found THIS Set of instructions. I just got it to work in under 3 minutes in her 2019 Santa Fe and then shortly after on my 2022 Tucson! I simply do not recall what instructions I tried in the past as it is the Exact Same Garage Opener, BUT Following These Instructions It DID Work. My Only Guess is that I Cleared it FIRST as shown in Step 1? I don't care why I just know now that the end result is that it works! Thank You Thank and Thank You!
This worked great! I used your tutorial for my 2018 Hyundai, but didn’t need to open up my garage door mechanism. It just worked straight from the home link after syncing with the remote.
You have an older model that doesn't have a rolling code. It uses a straight digital number that is preset into the opener and remote, usually with dip-switches. The openers with the "learn button" pairs the new remote with the rolling code sequence that is more secure against someone using another remote to get into your garage.
Thanks for the video. Step 1 was fine but when it got to step 2, it just kept blinking slowly until it stopped blinking. It didn’t blink fast. Any ideas what to do in this scenario? Thanks
Thank you for your video, was able to connect my 2015 Sonota to an ancient Legacy garage opener. Your steps and info had it working like a charm in under 5 minutes. Very much appreciated.
Like a previous comment--AWESOME! You had it correct; Hyundai, Genie and Homelink instructions don't make it clear and quite frankly, I believe they are wrong. Thanks again, best wishes!
I programmed and synced my replacement remote to the 2010 liftmaster first, and then programmed the car's homelink to the remote. Once assigning the button it opened the garage door without having to go back inside up to the learn button (your step 3). 👍🏿
Thanks Scott. I love your videos. I didn’t know that I had to press the learn button on my unit after syncing up the remote to the car button. You’re the best!
Thanks for this! My old garage opener (Stanley) does not have a learn button. The generic remote works. What would my step 2 be when programming my car? Thanks again!
I was excited when I found this video a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to try it. Well, it didn't work 😢. New Chamberlain system installed months ago. 2012 Hyundai Sonata. A friend paired my old system with no problem. Don't know why this isn't working.
Okay, so question... you do have to have an actual remote? we have a keypad/numbered entry on our garage door... can we use that somehow?? and do you have to hit the reset on the garage opener itself at the end? Thanks Hyundai tried to explain to me but it was a quick this is how and bye bye
Hey Gina, the keypad would work. I would remove it from the wall and take the keypad into the car and just substitute the keypad for the remote in this video. Let me know if you get the HomeLink programmed.
Hi again, I programed the garage door opener in my car thanks to your video, but now the old clickers do not work, is that normal. I usually keep one in my bicycle bag so I can get in the house by using the clicker.
Thanks! My new 2020 Sorento's manual shows a different set of buttons than what I actually have on the mirror. So I was having trouble programming it until I saw this.
Hi there, super helpful, but something doesn't work. My scenario is very similar, 2013 Sonata, Chamberlain remote looks identical. Steps 1 and 2 worked it seems, but something is not right in the last step. The mirror indicator blinks, then flashes and nothing happens after that. I'll play with it another day.
Hey Rita, yep same process but you shouldn’t have to do the first step pressing the 1st and 3rd button since that would clear your other garage door settings.
I have an Access Master that uses rolling codes, so step 2 didn’t work for me, in fact, it deleted the code from the remote and I had to reprogram it with the unit. I tried doing step 3 directly but that’s not working either. In my Audi, Homelink is programmed via the MMI so it setup on there easily.
Just an FYI for anyone whose garage door opener does not have a "Learn-switch" (manufactured before 1996 - "DIP switches"). Follow both steps 1 and 2; you do not need to climb the ladder and activate the "Learn-switch.
I have a2005 Haundai Sonata and a Chamberlain garage door opener. I tried the steps exactly as you said; at least four times. I even accidentally disabled my remote and was able to reprogram it, but for some reason I still can't get it to work. Hello🤔😂👍
I got to the fast green linking signal in my new Kona and had the Chamberlain Liftmaster (2014) in the Learn mode flashing yellow, but none of the buttons ever learned... Tried it multiple times but nothing. Even when I had the 2nd person doing the Learn button and me holding the synced Homelink button simultaneously. It just doesn't work.
I have a 2013 hyundai elantra. it' homelink is pretty much the same as the sonata. I try to hold the 1st and 3rd buttons down for the amount of time specified and longer with no flashing light... Does that mean it has failed?
Step 1.. great! Step 2 - I hold down the remote and mirror button and it never fast flashes to pick up the frequency. Then, Step 3 pressed the learn button, press the mirror button... nothing :/
I’m heard if you hold press the first button on the mirror thing until it stops flashing and then use your controllers frequency to find it instead, that’s what I did and it worked
Was able to program one door, but the second didn't get past the first step - the homelink controller on the car never did indicate synchronizing to the original transmitter was successful. I hate to reset everything and start from scratch, so is there another way to complete this step successfully?
Was able to program 1st door to 15 year old Craftsman opener. But wasn't able to program 2nd door that has a 3 year old Chamberlain opener for some reason.
It's yellow. I had issues programming it to my other car a while ago. But I kept playing around with it until it worked. But forgot what I had to do differently.
@@cadd9511 you can have someone press the desired homelink button which is programmed to the chamberlain while you are out looking at the LED by the learn button on the garage door opener. Both of you should be able to confirm when the homelink button is pressed the light on the homelink flashes for 2 seconds and the LED by the learn button flashes for 2 seconds as this would indicate the homelink and garage door opener can at least talk to each other on the correct frequency. That would narrow it down to needing the correct scrolling code passed from the homelink to the garage door opener.
Unfortunately homelink mirror not talking to chamberlain. I can't even get past the "press remote and homelink button together while remote is 1-3" away" step. Homelink is unable to receive the signal from the remote for some reason (yes, I tried putting fresh batteries in the remote). With the Craftsman, it was easy. After the "1-3 inches" step, I just had to hit the learn button and run back to car in 30 secs and press home line button a few times to get the rolling code synced up. With this chamberlain, I can't even get the homelink to grab the frequency from the chamberlain remote for some reason.
Instead of just pressing the button on a remote you will enter your code and then press and enter or send button on the keypad. This should allow HomeLink to pick up the radio frequency of your opener.
2020 Hyundai Sonata: I tried programming for two doors (different houses). Didn't do step three on either door. 1st door worked perfectly. 2nd door won't open. Can I reprogram the 2nd door without erasing the first door?
Hi John, you should be able to program the second door without erasing the first. Skip Step 1 (which would erase the first door) and go directly to step 2 and 3. Let me know if it works, thx.
🤔 I don’t think there is a way. You could snag a universal controller like this amzn.to/2Ktggry and I also have a video on how to program. Once that controller is programmed then you can use it to also program your HomeLink. Best of luck!
Hi, so I have a very specific case where I can not make it work! I just moved to a building that uses RADIUM/ KeeLoq® Hopping code.....from what I read the code sent by the transmitter changes at each activation, avoiding any scanning and copying. A special algorithm allows to keep synchronized transmitter and receiver and the transmitter can be equipped with passive tag....so the question is, Am I gonna be able to use the HomeLink on my Hyundai? Most likely not right.....
My garage opener doesn't have any buttons to press. I do have a genie remote that was programmed by a door repair guy a few years ago, but I don't know how. I have an old Raynor 120-7 opener if that helps. Btw, I don't get any flashing lights trying to do steps one or 2 on my 2021 Sonata limited
I need to program a new homelink (2020 Hyundai Tucson) WITHOUT the handheld garage door opener. Our regions vehicle had Homelink; we haven’t had a functional handheld opener for a long time. Please. TIA
Thanks!
Out of EVERY VIDEO on here, you are the only one who said to go back to the garage motor and to press that and then the car's button again! Thank you!
After watching 2 other videos without success, these instructions worked perfectly! If only I had found your video first, could’ve saved myself a lot of time. Thanks for the help!
Hey! Thank you for posting! I tried reading the owner’s manual but decided to TH-cam it and found this! So much help!!
Brooo😂 I lived a year with a huge piece of plastic in my car … until I saw your video omg. Thank you

question since that is the car I drive. What fuel grade do you use? My husband says I should be using 91 but I Was told regular.
mine did too on the 2020
Ohmyword THANK YOU! I have a 2021 Hyundai Palisade that I've been trying to program for a year! Your video is the only thing that worked.
This guy has the correct answers. This is the only one that worked of the 5 that I tried
It is the best video how to program the HomeLink. It is very straight, sample, and work like a champ. Thank you so much
Thank you so much for posting this video. Worked great for me!! Your video was so much easier to follow than the owners manual 😁
Thanks for the video.
Step 1 was fine but when it got to step 2, it just kept blinking slowly until it stopped blinking. It didn’t blink fast.
Any ideas what to do in this scenario?
Thanks
Great video! But for some reason, mine won’t go past step two. I can’t get it to start doing the fast blinking, any tips?
Awesome! I have a 2019 Hyundai Kona and it took me two minutes to get this done because of your video. You so much:)
You were the 10th video I looked at and the only one that worked! Thank you!
2017 Santa Fe Sport and an older Craftsman garage door.
Highest praise for this YT video! Thanks!
I’ve had my 2020 Sportage for 7 months and this is the first video that actually worked. Holy crap. THANK YOU
🙌
This worked for a 2023 Kona N. Thanks for the video. Nice and short!
Thank you for your video, was able to connect my 2015 Sonota to an ancient Legacy garage opener. Your steps and info had it working like a charm in under 5 minutes. Very much appreciated.
thank you! This worked after watching count less others that did not work
Like a previous comment--AWESOME! You had it correct; Hyundai, Genie and Homelink instructions don't make it clear and quite frankly, I believe they are wrong. Thanks again, best wishes!
Worked perfectly on all my Homelink openers on new Genie jack-shaft opener! Thank you!
This actually worked an my sanity is saved! Thank you!
👊
Thanks, that worked unlike videos by others
Thanks much for this. I couldn't find it in my manual, so this was very helpful.
Thank you! I was getting extremely frustrated with the process in the owners manual. This video saved my mental state! Thumbs up
Awesome tutorial. Quick straight to the point. Job done!
I programmed and synced my replacement remote to the 2010 liftmaster first, and then programmed the car's homelink to the remote.
Once assigning the button it opened the garage door without having to go back inside up to the learn button (your step 3). 👍🏿
Great video! I didn't need the third step either. It worked right after aligning the radio signal of the remote with the Homelink button!👍🏽
Same here, 2012 sonata and 2015 lexus didn't need to do 3rd step!
Perfect! Did it on the first try with the Genie Pro model 1024 garage door opener. Thank you!
Thanks for the help. Worked on 2014 Sonata with Chamberlain garage door.
THANK YOU! None of the other videos I watched mentioned the last step!
Can i test on remote of other car?
THANK YOU SO MUCH. Worked like a charm on my 2016 VT
Thanks Scott. Very easy to follow tutorial. Much appreciated.
Thanks Scott. I love your videos. I didn’t know that I had to press the learn button on my unit after syncing up the remote to the car button. You’re the best!
Worked for me thank you 2017 Elantra two Chamberlain's with MyQ
Second time using this on my 2020 Sonata. Subscribed just based off this video lol. Thanks man! 😎
Finally. That’s worked.
Lifesaver. Saving this video for later today.
Thank you so much. Loved the reminder tip to have the ladder ready!!
Can I do the programming without a remote control. My garage door opener is also Chamberlain. Thanks!
Worked like a charm!
Thanks for this! My old garage opener (Stanley) does not have a learn button. The generic remote works. What would my step 2 be when programming my car? Thanks again!
Thank you, very helpful
Thanks man for your help.
Happy to help

I no longer have a handheld remote as my prior car had a built-in. Can I still sync my Hyundai 2023 Sonata hybrid with my Legacy opener directly?
Hi again, I programed the garage door opener in my car thanks to your video, but now the old clickers do not work, is that normal. I usually keep one in my bicycle bag so I can get in the house by using the clicker.

I connected to my Kona. Thank you!
I just got a car that had this feature, so thanks for your help.
Very clear and simple explanation . thanks!

Excellent guidance. Thanks
Happy to help 👍
So easy! Thank you!!
You're so welcome!
Works great
Worked perfect.

Thanks dude, this helped
Very helpful, worked great! Thank you!
Awesome! Like it

Thank you, you are thee man! Worked like a charm.

How to do it in a Hyundai Kona with a Nice gate. I've been trying and searching and don't know how to handle this.
Hello I have a 2013 hyundai sonata and used the same steps and am having no luck what can I do
Step 1.. great! Step 2 - I hold down the remote and mirror button and it never fast flashes to pick up the frequency. Then, Step 3 pressed the learn button, press the mirror button... nothing :/
@chinyere did you ever figure it out? This is what mine is doing?.
@@jorigrace5985 Nope! I gave up and just use the one my garage came with
Mine does the same. It has worked at other places I lived
I’m heard if you hold press the first button on the mirror thing until it stops flashing and then use your controllers frequency to find it instead, that’s what I did and it worked
Because the frequency of the motor itself didn’t work

From my experience you will need a remote or keypad. Do you have a keypad which opens the garage door?
Do you need a remote?
does the 2020 Hyundai Sonata need to be on when opening/closing the garage door when the car is in the garage?
Did you ever get a reply or get it to work with the car off?
