PLEASE READ THIS! Hello Friends, I wanted to warn you that there is a scam going on where someone uses my photo and name (Fifty Plus Beauty) to reach out to you in the comments section telling you that that you have won a prize from me and asking you to go to an App called Telegram to "collect" the prize. These are scammers responding to some comments claiming to be me, or saying you have won something. This is a scam and please do not respond. Beth

I've been shaving my face since I was 27 yrs old (I'm now 69 yrs old). I had "fur" on my face (heavier than peach fuzz), but contrary to your experience, I have grown a beard so I use a twin blade disposable razor to take care of that, but by the next day there's rough stubble again. I'm so glad to know that there's lots of other women out there with this same problem. Thanks for sharing.

Yep..its not true!! You should NOT tell everyone doesn't grow back thicker or stubble..I was told .I started shaving and was very disappointed when did exactly that !!! I was so selfish conscious..worried men would notice. Not even dating ,im afraid that some guy would find out and I'd be horrified. ..mine (does ) grows back over night..so fast. I sometime already have by evening same day ..I hate it !!..I hate thinking have to do forever. I have less stubble by just using tweezers ..it stinks. Takes longer plucking but goes deeper pulling from root more .so you have few days to til again..it nice you have enough income. If can afford to keep buying new razors etc..they are not cheap .and im in very limited budget ..not everyone is as fortunate.so no one size dont fit all . This is why went back to tweezing .i have tons of razors, shave gel . At 60 .really don't grow on my legs .I'd rather did..I hate dealing with on face 😒🙄

I'd never touch a razor to my face, I'd end up with man-like facial hair. I do hair removal creams myself for upkeep, years after laser hair removal treatment.

Beautiful Miss! I have utilized exfoliation gloves in the shower all over my body since I was 18 years old. I am 59 now. I do not have wrinkles! Exfoliate at least once a week or every time you shower! You are gorgeous. You look to be in your late 20s or very early 30s. Dye your hair platinum or honey blonde; add volume extensions (me too, but black like Elizabeth Taylor SMILE) and that's it for you to look the absolute best. BEAUTIFUL GIRL! Excellent advice you have given to all. Old dead skin is the wrinkle culprit! I agree! Thank you. Sarah Israel

I never knew I would develop all of THIS, as I aged. I use a flashlight to look up my nose to make sure I’ve gotten all of the millions of gray & black hair that have appeared. Have you ever seen an old man with long gray nose hairs that reflect light? Yes, I want to make sure you can’t see mine from space. I applaud you for being real. I admitted to my husband a couple months ago that I have quite a bit of dark face hairs and he was in shock. I thought he already knew and was just being nice by not saying anything about it. So mostly, people don't even notice if you're not perfect. I've gone up to 4 days without taking care of the face hairs, so... I'm sure there are some people who are more observant than my husband, but that has really eased my nerves about it. Plus, it's just normal, so people need to get over it! LOL :)

I shaved my face for years but decided to quit during the pandemic when i could wear a mask all the time and let it grow back. My skin looked much better shaved than it does now because it exfoliates. I quit shaving because you have to do it almost every day to keep it smooth and I’m just too busy for that. If you skip it or get lazy, those little hairs look like crap when they are short. The sun reflects off them and it’s obvious that you shaved but didn’t keep it up. I hated being a slave to it. I’m a fair skinned Scandinavian and blonde stubble looks worse than not shaving at all. I do use a blade on my upper lip and lower jawline but that’s it, the cheek hair stays. I’m used to it now and not a prisoner of shaving anymore. 68 and don’t care!

I started wearing powder and sometimes Foundation when I was around 14-15 and stopped when I was in my mid 20's. The combination of enough sleep, avoiding too much sun, shaving my face, drinking enough water, and improving my eating really help my skin a lot. Another bonus is that it makes it itche less. I didn't even notice it till I was getting blood taken from my arm at the clinic, I saw that I had no hair on my arms and wondered where it went LOL! I have to check my knee caps once in a while because I tend to skip over that spot sometimes and maybe shave a couple of hairs. Haven't had to shave my legs for 20 yrs.

I just want to say thank you for this video. I am 58 and the fuzz on my face thought light in colour was causing me issues with makeup and honestly made me feel old. Last night I braved the blade and I am so happy with the results, my makeup is in place and I feel much better. Not only do you remove the peach fuzz, but also dead skin cells. I love how my skin feels after shaving. Also think skin care products absorb better. Be careful how far into the nostril you go and how close the nasal hair is trimmed. The hair in the nose helps protect our nose and nasal passages from foreign bodies like dust and insects. We do need those hairs, but trimming at the opening shouldn’t be a problem, but don’t go far.

I don't have any kids and other family really and I always worry about being in the nursing home or hospital and the places where I shaved my face grow like a man beard. Seriously. Like..... It's my biggest fear as far as being alone. Who will shave my face?? I've been shaving every day for the past 20 plus years. I'm so glad it has become normal to do it, but when I first started, I never told a soul! lol I remember that I got the idea for it from a daytime talk show that the soap opera star Linda Dano was on. She said she shaves her whole face on a regular basis and it gave her wonderful skin. That struck me as a fantastic idea because I really hated my peach fuzz! I have been doing it once a week ever since. I also shave the backs of my hands and my toes.

Beth, I too have shaved since my 20's. I'm 61 right now. what happened was similar to you. I had the peach fuzz situation and went to a laser clinic and they actually made the hair situation worse. So I just started using the shaver and it takes me no more than 5 mins in the shower. I use soap too. And like you, I don't have wrinkles around there. I do it exactly the same way you do, but spend a little longer in the corners of my mouth where I get a few stiff hairs. After, I use vitamin E cream around the area.

You are absolutely correct! I am grateful to be a natural blonde. My mother is a natural brunette too! My body hair is light and fine/soft. My darker haired girlfriends shaved daily up to their thighs and I shaved every two weeks to my knees only. Just my calves. I’ve gone silver during the pandemic and that was a breeze. Everyone including complete strangers and friends think I’m coloring it, until I prove I’m not by showing the array of colors underneath - it’s fascinating. This shaving thing has been a god-send as I won’t wax ever again. I just wanted the peri-meno addition of “more hair” eliminated and the answer seemed to be waxing. Which hurts! So I am doing this shaving thing and so far so good! And, as you pointed out, as blondes it’s just light peach fuzzy. My best friend is Indian, and she even waxes her arms!!! She can’t do the shave thing as she will get stubble like a man and that won’t fly. But she is gorgeous and has much to be thankful for! :)

My hair is dark too almost black and I had some dark hair in the mustache area when I got in my late 20s early 30s I didn't dare shave but I did wax and thru the years my hair on my lip got less and less now I'm in my 50s I have a few stiff hairs but my thin black hairs are pretty much gone I may wax now about one every 3 months when I was young it was 2 time a month. So with dark hair I say wax don't shave may daughter shaved and she is hating it now if shaving turns bad for you your stuck shaving and taking the chance of 5 o'clock shadow. So blonde its probably OK to shave but not dark hair women. Waxing was the best for me like I said I have very little hair now on my lip and it was pretty bad at one time. I now just pluck the few stiff ones I get about 5 or 6 of them in the corners of my lip. I wax the peach fuzz on the side of my face that doesn't need to be done much maybe 3 times a year it grows back very slowly and its getting thinner not near as much as I once had.... only thing about waking is it don't feel so well but you get use to it...

If you're hoping to get rid of the marionette lines on your face, I will tell you right now that shaving will make NO difference at all in that respect. I too have marionette lines and shave. Nasolabial folds (marionette lines) are due to skin laxity and volume loss, in addition to the effects of gravity. Your skin will be smoother, softer, and exfoliated well, but that is the extent of the cosmetic benefits you will ever get.

Read the comments. I have decided not to go this route. Many others do now experience the manly 5 o'clock shadow and their hair is growing back course and dark. I was hopeful when I saw the video but after reading comments... nope. I will not take the chance of becoming the bearded lady.

I’m glad you have had this experience. But I have shaved my face for years and regret it! Tried waxing and that made even more hair too. Plus you feel like you got to stay at home between waxes.

You are so good to share this with us and to provide such a candid and thorough demonstration. I tried the little shaver (tinkle?) a year or two ago, but didn't like it, as it irritated my skin. Since then, have just used small scissors, not nearly as effective as a razor; will try it. Your beautiful skin is a great encouragement!

I find it does make the hairs coarser by shaving. It was also taught to us in cosmetology school not to shave for that reason. Plucking (waxing) is a better option unless you can't take the pain.

You are 100% right I worked in beauty selling Estee Lauder for over 10 years and one of the girls there saved her face and talked to me into it and oh my God I was like a total man 🤮!
It made it way worse you're supposed to pluck the hairs off your face exactly you're exactly right hun 💜

No, shaving does not make hair “grow coarser.” It *appears* coarser because the ends are blunted.

I have hormonal issues as I have PCOS and endometriosis. My hair grows back dark and thick, although many are very coarse gray or white hairs now.
I think it probably depends on your hormones. Just my opinion. I’d love to feel a smooth face, however a lot of peach fuzz is better for me than a ton of thicker coarse hairs that are around my chin and mustache area. Everyone is different.

I've tried dermaplaning a couple of times. After seeing this video I want to make shaving a daily habit. It makes sense that shaving would be good for your skin because of all the dead skin you're removing. I don't know if you have a video on creating good habits but that's what I have trouble with. I'll keep trying to do the best I can. Thanks Beth! :)

I have been "closet shaving " for so long I have lost count. Growing hair has never been difficult for me. I even have been known to shave the back of my neck because I wasn't blessed with those whispie hairs most women have. I have always been self conscious about it. I do have a 5 o'clock shadow several hours later, like in the evening, in a few places on my face. When I was younger before shaving my sideburns where most have like you said peach fuzz I was much whoolier. I am grateful someone especially someone so lovely to speak openly about it and make it more normal and not embarrassing.

Hi Ruby. Thank you for sharing your story about shading. Yes, I don’t know why people think it’s so weird for women to need to shave. We have faces, and they grow hair just like men even if the hair is not quite as course. Thank you for your comment as it really made me think. It will be nice when women shaving is totally out of the closet as you said. Thanks for watching and have a good new year.

I caught on to that years ago as well...I noticed men's faces aged slower...Then, realized the stimulation helped rejuvenate skin cells. I'm 75 and look 55.

I absolutely love this video. I’ve been shaving my face for a while but now I see how to do it properly.. I have always been embarrassed that I use a nose hair trimmer but I am so glad to see the benefits of using it.
I am 70 yrs old and lost a lot of my brows over the yrs. So I don’t go anywhere near whatever I have with any type of razor.
I have acne scars and find that exfoliating with the razor makes my skin look smoother. Thank you so much for all your tips. I definitely appreciate it…. ❤️

I've done it since I was 25. I had PCOS in my early twenties. It's a lie that hair grows back fine is BS. I've had to shave ever since then. As for getting close romantically is horrible. I hate the stubble it's disgusts me. I've tried waxing and burned my skin with hair remover. Shaving removes it but I live in fear of people seeing my facial hair. Sends me in tears 😭.

I have PCOS too and have a full face of black thick hair especially since I started shaving. There is a medication for the excessive hair growth caused by PCOS. It's called spironolacto (sp?) God bless I hope this helps you I know how you feel I e lived with the shame and embarrassment of manly facial hair too...Not peach fuzz, full on man like facial hair... I used to ALWAYS be so scared someone would notice I shaved or notice my 5 O'Clock shadow. I'm 44 yrs old now, and I FINALLY don't care if people know I shave my face and pluck too. I try to pluck it all out so I don't get the black course whiskers y evening time.. I'm a natural blonde and it still got thicker and darker after I started shaving the couple hairs I had back in my 20s..

Get laser treatments. It takes a few treatments but works. I did it for about 5 sessions and then went over a year without any. Because I’m on bio identical hormones including testosterone, some facial hair has returned. So I just go back for a couple more laser treatments snd all is good.
I appreciate this lady’s info and video, however she is misinformed about the fact that many woman suffer from hormonal conditions that predispose them to growing dark, thicker facial hair and not just the peach fuzz she’s dealing with.

I appreciate that you not only gave tips and advice like a lotta youtubers do, but you actually SHOWED us exactly what you were talking about. It's good to actually SEE a demonstration. Thank you for caring enough about us women 50+ to be vulnerable enough to do that. Even show us a make-up free demonstration.
You're a very beautiful woman, even with no makeup, and an inspiration to us older women who still want to look good. Thanks!
