Lars brought his A-game, Kirk's solo is unlike anything he's done before and Rob is frigging solid in keeping the rhythm. Killer song and Welcome back boys, welcome back!

You nailed it... this is "catchy". I mean, I always love these guys but they haven't had that kind of hook in a while. Again, last few albums had some great stuff but not this is hook like a they used to have long ago. Plus it trashes like the 80s in some ways, the speed is there, layers, awesome transitions, all their best features. Great song. I hope the rest of the album kicks further ass. ~Love to all you Metallica fans!
I don't think Metallica is back other than back to making music after what seems to be almost a decade. Look, the voice of James Hetfield sorry to say to those who like it isn't the sound that I like when I hear the name James Hetfield. In ...And Justice For All, his voice was dark and he seemed pissed off which made the voice work on that album second to none. Shortest Straw had some of his most menacing attributes. His voice now is a whiny yelpy bluesy sort of a sound that is nothing and I mean absolutely nothing like what we heard from Justice. They are not back and they will never go back to the sound that made them the best heavy metal band at one time. I hate being a Debbie Downer and I hate not liking this, I really want to like Metallica but unlike Slayer in where Tom Araya sounded menacing up to his last concert and looking like an evil Santa Clause on bass guitar, Metallica has a singer who used to be menacing, a 2 foot balding drummer, an old lady on lead guitar and a former Suicidal Bass player trying to fit in. Dave Mustaine getting kicked out was the best for metal and Dave because Megadeth still kicks ass!
@@kevenvillegas51 I'm not asking a 60 year old man to play like he's in his prime, I never said that. His voice shouldn't have changed much so why not sound like you sounded like in the past instead of a yodling pop band singer? Tom Ayaya of Slayer was able to still do it so there's no excuses
