This was awesome! I’m a French Culinary Institute grad (Chef Jacques was Dean) and I was the first class graduating after 9/11. Back then Chef Jacques spent a lot of time in the kitchen of L’cole (the restaurant of the school) with the students line cooking... I have many memories and stories of Chef being serious, inspiring awe, and being absolutely hysterical! It sucked graduating that way, but I got what I paid for in my education. No doubt a very special time in my life. Thanks Chef!!!!
Can see Ming's slight anxiety wanting to get everything so Right for the Chef he loves and adores. Jacque Pepin's expertise from a lifetime of being with food and training everyday is so accomplished, it is almost impossible to match. Yet, all who love him and study with him clearly adore his breadth of experience and ultimately loving nature. When we can bring ourselves to work and study with someone heads above us, it stretches us immeasurably. Have done it a few times in my own field and so am totally able to get what Chef Jacque Pepin is all about! These days I love to watch his "fast food my way" cooking shows and more-and-more is how my home kitchen is stocked and served up! Thank you Chef Pepin from a cook who is not really much of a cook but able to prepare a wonderful eating experience from my kitchen just the same!
To mentor pepin I've been watching your cooking show since I was 3 years old you are amazing and julia child also you two have inspired me to grow up looking at food with respect and Express my emotions through food thank you and God bless you
Ming I saw a post on Emeril Lagasse’s FB page yesterday where he quoted Simon Sinek who said “ People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it”. Regards from Rio de Janeiro Greg
Years ago, ~14 perhaps, Jacques went to Simply Ming for the 1st time ever. Ming was so happy and they cooked together. At the end, when Pepin tasted the meal he was like "This is really.............. different"
When chef Pepin asked Ming to add the butter on top of the sole, he meant the anchovy butter, but Ming obviously understood the butter from the pan (whic I think is not really good, it's like adding the oil of fried chicken not a steak or so). He did it so fast and you can see Jaqques' when he did it xD.
Dude this video is good but there is a little tension that makes them both nervous... Not sure what the source of it is.. another mistake I think was that they didn't hear the oil before putting the fish in, I think. I always read you're supposed to heat it first to keep it from getting soaked too much in oil
I like this series. Thanks for posting. These two are great teachers. I will never forget when Ming got beat on Next Iron Chef- losing out in the end to Forgione. Afterwards, two things happened: 1. I boycotted Food Network for over a year. (Now I don't watch at all) 2. I found out the shows are scripted.
bkeene12 What sad times are these when cooking show contests are scripted. I found Ming and Jacques on the Create Channel years ago, and they are great teachers.
Hi MING.......Do u know that I am a malatue race, CHINESE, BLACK AND WHITE from my mother.....but my dad both parents r black....... I love Chinese food. Also, there r so much of other foods that I can make that I have never seen u made..... Jacques, I also love your cooking .......I learnt a lot from your kind of decorations with FOOD
@12:02 Tsai: "So you were given to farmers... And" Jacques: Puts tablespoon of food up for Tsai's mouth; "Think it's cooked enough?" HAAAAA!! 😂🤣 Stop talking, Tsai.
Jacques says is better with the knife, because there is about 30 tears age difference. When Jacques was Ming's age, I'm sure he was better than Ming now.
@@pianochannel100 so butter is unhealthy? Haha you American are crazy.. If you eat good quality ingredients, vegetables and a glass of wine, you can put butter and olive oil. It will be 20x times better than your cheeseburger with diet coke
The camaraderie between these two is so great, I love it, can’t get enough. Love how Ming treats Jacques, with total respect. Love these videos
Made me have great respect for Ming for showing such honor for the master, Jacques Pépin. Love this video.
Gracious Ming! Giving respect and honor to who came Before him. The way it should always be done.

2 of the best! Pepin has been an amazing influence to me my entire life! God bless you both!
J G - love them together. Pepin literally changed my life, absolutely.
Watching Pépin for 30+ years...I still haven't found a better way to clean a leek😁
I miss using our family planted squash flowers* * in our soup tamarind meal dishes homemade at home...😊 ~ Pepin' & Ming'
Two great humble chefs & men making dishes together priceless ❤️
Ming, you are a Master but it is wonderful to see you pay respect to Jacques. You two pair up wonderfully to make delicious food. Excellent!!
LadyMaltese - made me have great respect for Ming bc of the way he shows such respect for Jacques. Love this video.
I’m pretty sure Jacques Pepin has been on earth for thousands of years and he actually invented cooking. Yeah I’m pretty sure.
don't forget about the fire. he invented fire.
@@chohyun4357 He taught Chuck Norris how to use fire.
And Julia Child gave birth to him. And it was good.😂
I'm strangely comfortable with this possibility.
g a - we finally know the secret of Jacques Pépin... Thank you

5:38 "hand to hand combat" so adorable, great chemistry
More accurate.
America - THIS is class. This is Respect. This is Jacques and Ming.
Two of my favorite Chef 👨🏾🍳
Some people think they are chefs. They should watch Jacques and realise just what a chef is. So good!
Ming I saw a post on Emeril Lagasse’s FB page yesterday where he quoted Simon Sinek who said “ People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it”. Regards from Rio de Janeiro Greg
Wow the real food network stars 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Drinking tequila with Jacques Pepin sounds like a really good dream I had once.
great team. more shows of ming and pepin
Greetings from ecuador.
Two of my favorites cooking together, epic
Jacques Pépin is why I'm a chef. He's the best
Years ago, ~14 perhaps, Jacques went to Simply Ming for the 1st time ever. Ming was so happy and they cooked together. At the end, when Pepin tasted the meal he was like "This is really.............. different"
I would like to watch that.
😂😂🤣👍👍 Jacques is French for Frank, lol
So brilliant to see Jacques with Ming Tsai.....I've subscribed!
I love you both so very much!
You guys are great together 👍🏼
fantastic
This looks Fantastic 💖😊👍👍🇺🇸
I love it when he tells
Ming he didn’t finish it he knows he’s not a good cook 🤣
I loved the video. It looks amazing!.
Gentlemen supreme.

bkeene12 What sad times are these when cooking show contests are scripted. I found Ming and Jacques on the Create Channel years ago, and they are great teachers.
The competitions are overblown and not entertaining to me. I love this. Two experienced and enthusiastic chefs having fun creating in the kitchen.
Happy Drinking for the win!
18:12 Jacques is a savage, “...no.”
😆😆😆
jacques: "if you say that its cooked, i believe you"
time to engage pressure level x1000 that you may serve not properly cooked fish to jacques
But he's so humble and polite and lovely he'd probably not say it's not cooked right, or at least be very nice about it.
Anyone have any idea where I can buy a Pepin original painting?!
Wow that’s a good pinch
whats the name of the sauce that Ming made for the fish?:)
Zhanika I believe he said Beurre Noisette
Hi MING.......Do u know that I am a malatue race, CHINESE, BLACK AND WHITE from my mother.....but my dad both parents r black....... I love Chinese food. I bet Gordon Ramsay would try to outdo both of these guys.. He doesn't want any one else to shine
Wishful thinking. Ramsay is fine however, Jacques is the master plain and simple.
The fried onions are French's crispy onions.
Pepin and White are my favorite chefs.
@12:02 Tsai: "So you were given to farmers... And"
Jacques: Puts tablespoon of food up for Tsai's mouth; "Think it's cooked enough?"
HAAAAA!! 😂🤣
Stop talking, Tsai.
That was noticable lol
HI
Why so much beurre noisette?
I didn’t realize his name was Jacques, thanks for telling me 100 times Ming.
I think Ming's a little pickled in this one.
Jacques says is better with the knife, because there is about 30 tears age difference. When Jacques was Ming's age, I'm sure he was better than Ming now.
Wow! That’s a good pinch
Hahahaha
Hahahas wow that’s a good pinch!
Campari is not bitter
That's a beurre noir... ''almost''.
Why was Ming obsessed with controlling the food processor?
👨🏼🍳🫒🥔🐠🍒🥑🥘
Without his booze Ming couldn't cook🍸
We could skip Ming altogether in these vids and they would still be great.
PLz, STOP Using Any Sugar in Any HeaLThy Food!
wHy???
I take it you didn't notice the inordinate amount of butter in this video. This is not healthy food.
@@pianochannel100 so butter is unhealthy? Haha you American are crazy.. If you eat good quality ingredients, vegetables and a glass of wine, you can put butter and olive oil. It will be 20x times better than your cheeseburger with diet coke
My cheese burger is all natural ground European.
Awentus Zioniusa - huh?
