One of the few artists in the world whose live recorded output I buy before his studio albums. His care and craft over the sound quality and mixing of his live albums is absolutely joyous.

I've followed Gary from the very start and felt for him during the challenging times. When artists come back, (he never truly went away) they are rarely as good as they were the first time. Gary is better! His heavier versions of the classics breath new life into 40 plus year old tunes which are a joy to listen to, time and again. Conversely, his later material, My Name is Ruin, Intruder etc, are quite brilliant, further updating that iconic Numan sound. His refusal to get on the 80s nostalgia tours is commendable, choosing to keep his music fresh and current. I've seen him as early as the Beserker days and latterly on a UK tour three years ago. So uplifting to see and hear. Keep going Gary. Your music and determination to overcome the bad times are to be admired.
Gary, we as fans are grateful that you worked through your period of self-doubt all those years ago. What a blistering set here, you and the band were electrifying.
The works of a composers lives from the gaze that is given to it. It is not limited to what it is, nor to the one who produced it, it is also made by the one who hears it. Music, painting and sculpture are a space of questioning and meditation where the senses that we attribute to it can come and be done and be undone at any time✨
A brilliant concert with some awesome classic Numan tracks. Speakers are on and out in the garden!!! Broadcast to the World. Thanks for sharing. Keep them coming. 🙏🏻
Oh wow I’ve just found this after looking for intruder tour videos!!! This man is amazing, what a showman. Hope to see his next tour. Intruder tour was great. The best.
He's seriously puts on AMAZING concerts! This is an especially clear video...thank you for sharing! When I saw him a few months ago in NYC, I couldn't stay still long enough to take some video for later viewing...I rocked out immensely! He is one seriously talented man!!!
My wishlist is that on Gary’s upcoming LA or Orange County, California tour dates he opens or at least plays this version of Replicas. It’s part of my absolute top 5 live Gary songs that I have not heard live yet. My Shadow in Vein is another. Love Needs No Disguise. Miracles, We Take Mystery To Bed. Omg there are sooo many great songs. My top 100 is more like it 😂✌️🎩
Awesome of course, thanks Bro! But, I'm a little surprised that he did a complete older set in 2016...??? I thought he was dead set against doing 'Nostalgia', especially the entire set until like last year. Weird...
? ? ( IDEA 4 WEMBLEY) Mr Webb you have Entertained a World 4 me being 2 remember Things in Life / TOTALLY an amazing guy _ Inspired my life But WEMBLEY Idea ????
I am just over 30 minutes into viewing this and so far I am surprised (pleasantly, I might add!) that I have only heard older material. What was the occasion for this concert? The versions are fantastic and I love the freedom in play given to the electric guitar not too mention some of the great synth sounds.
This was part of a ‘post residency’ tour following the three nights at Hammersmith where he did Replicas, The Pleasure Principle and Telekon. This tour combined tracks from all three.
@@Strixx23 Thanks, wished I could have been there. As much as there was a time when I was all in favour of him playing his newer material, that changed with Intruder. Ever since Splinter, it seems like everything he has released since is a pale copy of the songs from that album.
5:23 and the first bum note from the keyboard player... FFS Gary needs some decent players! I never heard Bowie's bands screwing up... It happens every concert with Gary! Feel sorry for him!
It’s okay to make a mistake. The keys are very solid on this album. A missed note once in a great while just reminds us that we’re all human. Makes perfection what it is a rare thing to be cradled and held special.
@@Midnight-Mike Mate, there's bum notes all over this concert! Never heard a bum note on a Bowie concert. Gary's shows are notorious for them. I'm a muso; I can pick them out easily!
Bum notes or not, the overall effect is wonderful. I'm a muso too, and in my view the imperfections just add to the flavour. A good band is more than the sum of its parts: if he wanted 'better' musicians he could have them, but he has chosen these.
Sometimes, you end up in a cold room, dark and empty. Closed windows, locked doors. Your eyes have adapted to the small light that seeps into the holes of your curtains. You stand in the middle of the room and you have finally become this "entity" you had seen in a strange and penetrating dream 🕌 🦹♀🧞♀
Fantastic set list, especially for us old 70s/early 80s fans. Lots from Telekon...LOVE. Man, that dude still has his voice!

One of the greatest pioneers in synth music who also has one of the absolute best comeback stories in rock history.
What a freeking show. Man I wish I was there. All his old classics that he just does not play enough...All I can say is wow

The only thing this incredible show is missing is jo the waiter in the set list. Otherwise - perfect.
Yeah, and totally acoustic 🖤
Anyone who plays in Liverpool should be required to do a Beatles cover, that should be the law i think...
But @ 52 now I know Dreams never come true xx

Gary is extremely stingy, he doesn't want to pay for class musicians. I suppose he even can't with four women to support.
Was this the Olympia Liverpool
yes i think so
