i guess im asking randomly but does anybody know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
Green - Golgari Grave-troll. Even if it dies as a 0/0 first casting, it comes back and is just a total beast and a nightmare to get rid of completely. In RRR, RRG and RGD it was sick.
@alexgcuevas depends on the deck. if you're playing weenie with overrun or stampede to finish the you're going to want the classic overrun instead because all of your creatures are 1/1 or 2/2. in many cases stampede can be better but overrun is fixed which leaves you less open to shenanigans like someone doom blading your biggest creature.
@purklefluff I see your point. Plus since treachery was a rare and jace is a mythic, treachery showed up more often. However, I just think i would prefer jace in a ZEN ZEN WWK than a treachery in a urza block draft, just because jace can protect himself with unsummon; once you stabilize the board with some blockers or removal, he provides constant card advantage; and then when your opponent runs out of gas, you can lock out their draw step. Idk i never drafted any urza so i cant compare the 2
What about Drana? She was so ridiculously dominating if you looked at the stats. She does what chapin was talking about from living death and pretty much does basically the same as profane command.
@scarred50 in Urza's destiny, treachery had far more impact in draft that Jace had in worldwake. Jace may be a solid cumulative tempo card if you've got a good board presence but his real place is in constructed where you can really abuse his abilities and get something meaningful from the tempo. treachery directly impacted the board and had the added bonus of being free to cast, leaving you open to cast more creatures or a counterspell, or some draw. it's a tour de force in draft.
@4TensCakes yeah, they should have named a gold card as well. glare of subdual was quite stupid in triple R. then again rith was good, too. i think gold would have been the hardest unless theres a really obvious answer im not thinking of atm
I just want to add though for Green, that an honourable mention might have been Blastoderm. I never played Nemesis draft but he had to be ridiculous right?
@Wallyworld30 You were not at a PTQ that had a beta rochester draft, I call BS on that. Drafting really started with Mirage, the Pro Tour scene wasn't until around 4th edition. Their have been some side events with Beta drafting, but no large event has ever been done were you could open Black Lotus.
i dont know, im i've only been playing since Ravinica. All i can say is, considering the cards available in the odysese set, i'd go RG or RGW with Overrun as my win condition.
Red = Sparksmith in triple-Onslaught. A two-mana common that cleared your opponent's side of the board like he was Visera the Dreadful. The only common answers were Shock, Solar Blast, Cruel Revival, and maybe Lavamancer's Skill on a Mistform Wall. White, Green, and Blue decks just scooped to Sparksmith, until they added some answers in White and Blue in Scourge, and Green at least got the similarly busted Timberwatch Elf in Legions. No card has single-handedly defined a limited format since Pestilence.
Green Master of the Wild Hunt just won the game if it stayed in play for more then two turns, Garruk Wildspeaker in Lorwyn made 3/3's (in a block with a ton of small creatures) and gives you Overrun. Also Troll Ascetic is pretty unbeatable. Also you didn't mention Gold/Mutlicolor/hybrid cards my vote would be for Bit Blast the card was absolutley absurd at instant speed would blow out all sorts of combat math and sometimes hit another removal spell or another cascade.
Blue best was Opposition. If you had that you owned the board. Unless you didn't draft creatures with it. Even if they took a creature with Treachery, Opposition could just tap the creature from that point on.
@SaoPauloOrBust I think everyone who played competitively in mirrodin sort of wants to forget that cycle ever existed, specially after what it did to standard.
Jitte is absolutely awesome and should get the best artifact, BUT fodder cannon in the core set was ridiculous for all of it's combat shanagans (damage on the stack) as well easily my 2nd choice. Red should have had kumono from champions of kamigawa mentioned since his impact was absurd. On that note the dragons in that format were very powerful as well... With the question of would I first pick a dragon over every common/uncommon pick one pack one in kawigawa it would be an easy yes.
I guess Chapin never played with Thrashing Wumpus or Bitterblossom in draft. Bitterblossom is absolutely backbreaking. Living Death is fine, but it isn't all that and a bag of chips. For their white picks, they never mentioned Mageta =( And for blue, is Treachery really better than Mind Over Matter? I never drafted Destiny, but I seem to remember Mind Over Matter being completely bonkers. Opposition, too.
Wild Mongrel > Overrun The power level of WIld Mongrel destroys the late game power of Overrun, often times games don't last long enough for over run to be cast. Just in my experience (i never played pro level back then)
Calling someone a traitor for wearing a shirt that represents the website they work for, when they in fact never worked for the company they are supposedly betraying is shortsighted. This rivalry is as real as andre the giant and hulk hogan, they are both getting paid money to do what they love and while each of them would obviously love to be champion they don't actively want the other one to lose to other people just because. Calling Chapin a fucker because hes wearing a scg shirt is laughable
Unfortunately, TSG stole cards from ChannelFireball and sold them on Ebay under a different moniker, so TSG will no longer hosting these shows. It's too bad, I liked that guy :-(
Kyle cooper "is that true?" the answer is "we don't know", but possibly not. the matter was taken up by the police and investigated. the accusations were dropped based on the evidence they found (i.e. there wasn't any evidence to show he was guilty), so i'd be inclined to give TSG the benefit of the doubt. after you've been accused of stealing and a police investigation undertaken, i'm sure your workplace and the atmosphere would be kind of soured, you know? he must have left because of that.
purklefluff There is an article on CFB where they say he admitted to doing it. I don't exactly know what to think but here's the article. www.channelfireball.com/home/announcement-regarding-tristan-shaun-gregson/
Alex Mazen from their description it seems very clear cut. however, there's no admission of guilt there. i'll play devil's advocate for a moment here and suggest that while the article you posted makes it seem definitive, OBVIOUS even that TSG was at major fault - why did the evidence from the police investigation not garner any significant traction? it's possible that they just agreed to call it quits and not damage either party any further (seems likely). but like many things, innocent until proven guilty is an important facet of law.
@purklefluff at worst Wild Mongrel gets countered or bolted... sure you can protect him from a bolt by discarding two cards, but then you are down two cards. And Wild Mongrel can be countered too so I don't see your point. And a 3/3 for 4 mana that generates card or tempo advantage is fine (see skinrender/scrapmelter). At best, he wins you the game by himself, not just "increase your lead." I don't know if he's the best green card ever, but better than Mongrel.
@wiscODy he can protect himself, yes... but in doing so he loses loyalty counters and cannot hit his ultimate. if i was to play a turn two mongrel, and you a turn three (with llanowar elves) garruk.... you'd already be behind on the board... turn four or five garruk? no chance..... and as i added other creatures to my line-up you'd be hard pushed to fight back from your position on the back foot. god forbid i have more than one! granted, tarmogoyf is better, but wild mongrel is a beast.
@wiscODy garruk wasn't as good in his set(s) as wild mongrel was in odyssey. although left unanswered he is a cumulative threat (as with most planeswalkers), as with any planeswalker he is a very bad play if you're behind on the board, because he just dies to basic attacking. thus he just doesn't have the range or versatility to be a game-breaking card in most situations. at worst he gets countered, bolted or is just a 3/3 for 4 mana. at best he can increase your lead and solidify your bard.
Wild Mongrel is obviously the pick. It's soooo ridiculous. Hard to remove, enables all your spells, gets big for nothing and drops on turn 2. Stupid. So stupid.
Lose. SCG is filled with, in my mind better players overall and are less dependent upon one player than channelfireball is. also why does one team have to suck for the other to be good?
Even today, after so long. When I'm happy and think I'm safe, I can still hear it echo in my mind. "HEY LISTEN!"
9:03 HEY LISTEN
Absolutely Wild Mongrel before Overrun. It was so good and it didn't corner you into drafting heavy green to make use of it.
i guess im asking randomly but does anybody know a method to get back into an Instagram account??
I somehow lost the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Jamir Ayden instablaster ;)
TSG really knows his stuff when it comes to past cards and sets.
Green - Golgari Grave-troll. Even if it dies as a 0/0 first casting, it comes back and is just a total beast and a nightmare to get rid of completely. In RRR, RRG and RGD it was sick.

Wild Mongrel is by far the pick over Overrun. It leaves you a lot more open to decks, and it infinitly easier to cast.
I want to start the Patrick Chapin drinking game:
Take a shot whenever he says "Unbelievable".
It's a good episode, though.
thanks for finally understanding! :)
9:04 "HEY LISTEN!"
@jahs389
I was at a PTQ where the final 8 was a beta rochester draft. I'm pretty sure that was sanctioned.
What about Drana? She was so ridiculously dominating if you looked at the stats. She does what chapin was talking about from living death and pretty much does basically the same as profane command.
Pack Rat needs to be added if they ever do this again.
@paddleman256 Sol Ring. Ask anyone who does cube drafts and Sol Ring is better since you can use it every turn, not just one turn.
@jahs389 Agreed. Meloku caused all sorts of groans when it was cast.
@4TensCakes yeah, they should have named a gold card as well. glare of subdual was quite stupid in triple R. then again rith was good, too. i think gold would have been the hardest unless theres a really obvious answer im not thinking of atm

Watching V clique on the buy list at just $3.50
Skull Clamp for artifacts?
God, I miss Magic TV with TSG
+João Gabriel Shame he had to ruin his relations with CFB
Where is he now and what happened? Also Chapin wearing a SCG shirt on CFB? Pretty brazen.
No Lin Sivvi, Rebel discussion? Totally dominated when drafting rebels
i dont know, im i've only been playing since Ravinica. All i can say is, considering the cards available in the odysese set, i'd go RG or RGW with Overrun as my win condition.
How many times did Patrick Chapin say "unbelieveable" in this episode...
Slaughter from Exodus was pretty sick.
Also, Drana won me so much ROE.

Jeremy Hoffman Jitte.. Pack Rat..
Spinerock Knoll, Pat? :P
@Jurrey
Why would 30 people thumb up a comment that portrays Navi the Faerie as an Angel...?
Green Master of the Wild Hunt just won the game if it stayed in play for more then two turns, Garruk Wildspeaker in Lorwyn made 3/3's (in a block with a ton of small creatures) and gives you Overrun. Also Troll Ascetic is pretty unbeatable.

@Pinfeldorf They talked about pestilence. Thrashing wumpus is exactly the same concept.
@SaoPauloOrBust I think everyone who played competitively in mirrodin sort of wants to forget that cycle ever existed, specially after what it did to standard.
Jitte is absolutely awesome and should get the best artifact, BUT fodder cannon in the core set was ridiculous for all of it's combat shanagans (damage on the stack) as well easily my 2nd choice.

triplicate spirits at common + all those sanctifying charges is kind of stupid too.
This video was recorded in 2010.
overrun is my favorite green card to draft.
i think I'd go with Troll Ascetic for green...
Blue - Opposition. Cast it, win. Just blows people out.
@paddleman256
Black Lotus was never in a sanctioned draft format.
I think Overwhelming Stampede is better than Overrun, just FYI. I think that's probably the best green card for limited.
I guess Chapin never played with Thrashing Wumpus or Bitterblossom in draft.
Bitterblossom is absolutely backbreaking. Living Death is fine, but it isn't all that and a bag of chips.
For their white picks, they never mentioned Mageta =(

@Jurrey its not an angel, its a fairy, her name is navi
@caldous22 Yes.
Ajani Vengeant is pretty damn ridiculous in draft. He's multicolor though.
Wild Mongrel > Overrun

Black - Thrashing Wumpus. My god that was sick.
Today the list will be changed for black, and giving Pack Rat the spot for black.
best two hosts ever?
what could possibly improve it? maybe get LSV in there as well =).
TSG represent!
Unfortunately, TSG stole cards from ChannelFireball and sold them on Ebay under a different moniker, so TSG will no longer hosting these shows. It's too bad, I liked that guy :-(
TheOvermaster Wow is that true?
Kyle cooper "is that true?"

@Jurrey LOL!
Chapin ftw!!!!!!!!!1
Patrick looks like an EXACT COPY of Shawn from mega 64
Gaea's Cradle
triple Onslaught - Visara. Nearly no answer to it.
This is my favorite top 8 video, and its not even a top 8.
Wild Mongrel no contest
he always worked for them....
@she11shock Best DRAFT card ever buddy. Dark Rit is awesome in constructed, pretty meh in limited.
wait they said best in draft.
@Jurrey
>Angel from Zelda
>Navi
>Angel
Meloku was pretty retardedly good in draft.
Tolarian Academy.
garruk relentless is the best in innistrad draft
Finally!! I sent ChannelFireball this question a year ago, they owe me $20
Did anyone else hear the angel from Zelda saying "Hey listen" at like 9:06
Navi is a fairy not an Angel
vhitu ghazi the city tree
Wanna Fanta?
Wild Mongrel is obviously the pick. It's soooo ridiculous. Hard to remove, enables all your spells, gets big for nothing and drops on turn 2. Stupid. So stupid.
i would have said rancor for green. then again im not one of the best players in the world either.
Lose. SCG is filled with, in my mind better players overall and are less dependent upon one player than channelfireball is. also why does one team have to suck for the other to be good?
Navi is a fairy.
It's a fairy.
wtf dark ritual is the best black card ever - and they don't even mention it
