    I only plan on using this for speaking parts, and not for recording music. But what did you think overall?

      Hi Lando, is their a latency in sound recording? ie if you record music running on phone and mic recording, is there a latency observed between recorded sound and music ?

    • @landonbailey

      I didn't notice any. But watch my follow up video. I had a lot of issues with the mic

      Great video bro! Can I ask you something? Y really need to know if this microphone completely deletes the “white noise”, so it does? “White noise” is that classic hsssss when we are in silence. Thanks!

    To be honest I preferred the internal mic. More lively and more presence.

    I was excited to see Rodes developed this for Android phones. Was going to get one to record acoustic guitar and singing. Not now, the built in mic was so much better sounding. I will say the Rodes worked well when you were speaking and recording the amp. Obviously a very directional microphone. Thanks for doing the review

    Thanks for the test. Unfortunelly i think now that mic doesnt good for record music.

    this is the video that I was looking for... very helpful.. thanks... I think Rode VideoMic Me wasn't designed for music recoding... Rode records voice very well but on the other hand guitar doesn't sound well... Samsung keeps more characteristic color of guitar.. thanks again for the video

      There was barely any difference. Even for simple vocal recording (talking). Rode not really worth it imo.

    Hi Landon, the Rode sounded great. It definitely picked up your vocal whilst playing the guitar better than the Samsung. Thumbs up

      I thought it was the exact same thing with both.. Microfone of the Samsung and the Rode.

    I like the Rode mic over the internal microphone. Its more clear with less reverberation, so less noisy too. Thanks for the video!

    samsung: more pleasing profile, wider sounding, lower is muddier
    rode: flat profile, narrow field if any, better tonal clarity
    samsung would be better if the recording is for final consumption i.e. podcast or just listening back. for applications like field recording or direct mic'ing instruments i would probably go with the rode

    does the quality of the PHONE, have anything to do with the quality of recording when its connected with the mic?
    for example, if my phone is 7 years old......

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Scherzo Herzo hey there that's a really tough question to answer. I only tried it on the one Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phone so I can't even say how well it works on any other phone.

      I think yes. Some phones support only mono audio. So mic will not work on it as well as the the one that can do high quality audio

    • @Texturas75
      @Texturas75 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe some phones have better analog-digital converters than others, but it's much more important how you set your recording app.

  • @AudioyMas
    @AudioyMas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    excellent video friend, unfortunately it is very difficult to overcome the microphones of Samsung phones, nowadays if you record videos with the s10 plus very difficult mind I think that there are some external cameras or microphones that overcome them in a very remarkable way.

    • @AudioyMas
      @AudioyMas 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I clarify I mean external microphones for cell phones, since I came here looking for microphones for cell phones.

    Thanks for making this video!! It's very helpful because I am using Galaxy note7 and looking for an external mic, to record acoustic guitar sound. As far as I listened, a built in mic is better because it has nice stereo sound and lively while Rode sounds like just mono.

      I wonder and researched the same question, the best condenser external mic for recording jams, concerts, is the *Shure MV88* check it out, the only thing is that is made only for iphones, I still use my galaxy s7 edge for almost 5 years now, android all my life, but I'm getting the iphone 12 pro next month along with the mv88, so I can record my guitar jams.

    Hello, thanks for the review. I have an questions, which is very important to me... How do you do the transitions between some scenes, e.g. when you say something wrong or here: 1:41 ... If anybody else also knows the answer, please share ow to do it (with premiere)

    Bought one with the aim of recording jam sessions. Didn't turn out as well as I expected, though it can take a higher SPL so less clipping when a full band is playing.
    Is there anything that would work better in this environment that is still just as easy to connect to a phone as the VideoMic ME?

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The ME sounded harsher on the overdriven guitar, to me, and just louder in general, FWIW.

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      650Thunderbird agreed. I think we would hear a bigger difference overall if I was in a room that wasnt soundproof.
