Raking Hay: Fast and Loud

- Welcome back!
Today we finished our third and last cutting of hay for the year. Last year we managed a small cutting in the middle of October, but this year we don't think we will have that opportunity. Last year's October hay yield was very low, which is generally the case as the year winds down. We have plenty of hay though, so missing out on the fourth cutting isn't heartbreaking in the slightest. We also spend a little time at the bin site where we have two projects torn down and are almost ready to be put back together.
Thanks for watching, and I'll see you next time!
Glad I found you guys....That 4100 IH ....Sweet.... Suscribed....
Thanks for sticking around!
Great Video. I like your Massy 1805 & Allis Chalmers 440. Hope to see more of them.
Nothing like the sound of a Detroit!
You got that right!
That's about the coolest tractor I've ever seen rake hay .
New lens is clearer I think. Another great video. Cant wait for 4wd project tour.
Survivors, ready to work "tomorrow" at the latest, are always nice to have and warm the heart when running them. Not everything can and should be Master's Class at the shows.
Wow that was really freaking awesome love listening to it in surround sound
Great video thanks for the video keep up the great work you do on the farm
It’s all about the smiles per gallon, not the miles lol. Not something you see everyday to pull a rake but I like it
Hello John, your putting those welding skills to good use. Always something to weld or fabricate on the farm.looked like you were having fun raking with repower! Always fun hanging out with you guys.
Sweet 1805. I have always loved that Massey Ferguson styling. I hope to see more of what's in that shed soon. I actually debated buying an MF today, albeit much, much smaller.
the severity of the drought has been so devestating here that there is no hay
I’ve heard it’s been bad in some parts of the country!
Always enjoy 👍👍
I was wondering about the horses, haven't seen them in awhile. Also I still can't believe how many tractors you guys have. Do you get a new one every week or what? Lol!!! So cool I would sleep out there at night.
"We don't need no stinkin" LS Fest"
4x4 To Do List
Love seeing it out working I had some guy comment on one of my videos from the half century that those repowers would never do field work hahaha thanks for all the great content and thanks again for showing them off at the HCOP
Gotta keep them in shape and make them earn their keep!
That is quite a trailer you have there.
loved watching the 4520. Would love to see more of the 4x4 tractors. I am just wondering why so much localized wear on the auger flighting ? Looking forward to Sundays video.
Man those articulated masseys were a big deal back in Scotland, especially on a chopper. Have you guys had any run ins with Counties (by Ford)
I know a man that has 3 counties. Their a bit of a rarity here in the US.
How many tractors do you guys have???? So cool, thanks Jon! Missed Jake!
I thought it was overkill when I raked with a JD 820 years ago!
My Dad used to tell me," A big tractor can do the work of a small tractor, but a small tractor can't do the work of a big tractor,".
I got to have a 5020 like that
I saw you had a 4100 International in there I used to have a 4156 pretty decent tractor I traded it for a Steiger bearcat which was a lot nicer
I have 3 tractors 39 hp IMT 539,a 64hp John Deere 5320, 92 hp Massey Ferguson 3070. The IMT 539 can pull a 10 v-rake and use only 1 gallon to 1 1/4 gal of diesel per hr, The John Deere 5320 will use between 1 1/4 gal per hr raking both are 3 cly diesels the JD has a turbo. The MF 3070 is a Perkins 4 cly 236ci/3.9L turbocharged. Which I feel it is fuel efficient as well for its size , it's never used over 3 1/4 gal and hr pulling a 6,000lb 15 ft. batwing Bushhog in very heavy thick tall grass growth. I really don't know what it gets in light work pulling a 458 mega wide plus JD 4x5 baler it uses 2 1/2 gal per hr same as my 5320 JD. But the Massey Ferguson 3070 92 hp pulls the baler much easier. Dics mowing 8 ft both will burn about 2 gal a hrs . I really like your John Deere wide rear tires and the big Massey Ferguson. Good video.
That has to be some expensive hay raking
Do you know how many HP that souped up 4520 has now?
I have a 2030 that I want to modify. Wanting to put wider tires & wheels on the rear not much taller. Where can I find tires & wheels. I now have 15.5x 38-14” wheels?
Please do a whole tractor tour.
Watching the 4520 on a 700 bushel manure spreader would be cool to see... I could make that happen 😉😂
What about calling it Grandpa's collection
Would you be interested in a Wagner wa-17?
Do you have one for sale??
@@Chevy4x4dawg yes 1963 wa-17 runs really good need paint hoses tires breaks to be perfect but she's a runner
@@brianmendonsa8588 Should post a video on it. I missed out on a Deere WA17 and always wondered where it went.
Aren’t augers amazing though !
You might want to get your money back on that new camera lens you bought,.....you still look ugly!!! For all the money it probably cost, it could at least make you look a little better. (Ha!Ha!) Just kidding!!! Back in the 70's, we had a 5-wheel rake that I would pull with an Allis Chalmers WC. Put it in 4th gear (road gear) and pretty much ran wide open, as long as the fields were smooth enough. It was a quiet rake compared to the old 4-bar rakes.
Holy shit an 1805 , spent alot of time on one of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
