I like that you post stuff like this, it gives an accurate depiction of what fishing trips are: line getting stuck in trees, and few to no bites. Not every trip ends with a limit of fish 🤷♂️
Nice vid -- glad you got to get out and enjoy the warm weather even if there was only one fish. Check your video at 0:48 and watch the two critters run across the sidewalk behind you -- they looked small :)
White and pearl are my top 2 colors for muddy water. If you look at the fish you catch in muddy water, most are turned whitish in color so makes sense White or pearl is a good color
Almost looks like white rock creek in dallas but im sure there is a lot of places that look like that. Fishing may be slow right now but it will get better. Warmer days we have coming will help too.
Fishing has been great for me this year. The crappie have been tearing up at night. No matter the temperature. No limits but enough to cover me for one person. DFW area btw.
@@JAYMAN07 Yes the bank. Even when I had a kayak I'd do the same. Hit bridges or man made structure. Coves as well can produce seeing they'll push the bait fish into the cove.
For brushy creeks like that I had to go to a weedless head with the little wire guard on it. Hook up ratio is still pretty darn high with the wire guard and you wont spend near as much time having to retie. You just have to set the hook a tad harder. I actually use to tie my own weed guards on them until I found a store bought head that I liked better. I will probably start hitting some creeks next week. If nothing else I will get to scout out all the new log jams and brush piles if the fish aint biting.
I wanted to provide you with an accurate description of the specific location. It's not stormwater runoff as some say in the comments; the manholes you're passing say sanitary sewer not storm sewer, meaning it contains sanitary sewer water. It's essentially treated poop water. Basically they remove all of the solids and treat it then pump it into that creek. You'll find a Sewer Treatment Plant right next door on the east side of that trail. I can verify this information because I visited that exact spot today. The distinctive smell is noticeable, and I wouldn't advise eating anything so close to the source.
Hard to stay inside the house when it is so nice out! Kind of nice not to hassle with your kayak or boat isn't it? Just grab a pole and go explore! I do that a lot just to keep my sanity! LOL! @@KidKrappie
Kid I fish there all the time and it’s a hit or miss. I usually walk along the creek and end up with 10-15 crappies and sandies mixed, all keepers. Just a few weeks ago I was surprise to pull in a 15” crappie out of that little creek. That pipe is connected to a water treatment plant about 1/4 mile from there.
white rock creek, the lower intestine of Dallas TX... went there one time, and wouldnt eat a fish out of there unless I was starving to death,., @@codyk-bu6uu
Do you have a code for BnM rods? I'm fed up with ACC. I've broke 2 in the last month. Both on striper while crappie fishing. I was sending in broke rods for a replacement but that's getting old.
I don’t have a code as of now for them but you can find them pretty much anywhere. Walmart, Amazon, grizzly jig, bnm.com 👍🏼 I have a coupon code with sportsman’s outfitters but they never have stock
I hope they're good rods. I've tried multiple brands but, nothing has stuck with me yet. BarFly told me what brand rod he uses on the creek one day but I can't remember what it was.@@KidKrappie
@@KidKrappie I figured that was the area you fish because you called the whitebass "sandbass" where-as in south central Texas we call them whitebass most often..
It's not treated water. It's street runoff. That's what that culvert pipe was coming into the creek and you walked right by one of the manholes at the first. Street runoff will be a little contaminated with engine oils and engine coolant.

I didn’t even notice that lol. Thanks for pointing it out! There was a lot of wildlife in that area. Thanks for watching!

That’s exactly why I love white for muddy water too! Makes sense to me 👍🏼👍🏼
Pink head with a black body w/chartreuse tail is my muddy go to. The body or lure I prefer must have a bulky or ribbed body.

Helk yeah those pear floats are my fav too for shallow water fishing.
Thanks for the video buddy. You'll get them next time. Stay safe.
Nice video, I can feel the positivity right from the start! Hang in there Kid!
That is one of my favorite rods..love that blue super sensitive from B&M.
The Difference is better, it has the best backbone of any Crappie rod I've ever used.

Yeah, I know it is not storm runoff by the smell and location. It is treated sewer water which is basically sewer lol
Makes you think twice about biting off the tag end of your line. @@KidKrappie
Love crappie fishing culverts.
Some of those lures might be mine 😅 Last year was awesome there a week after rain in December.
Looks a lot like Muddy Creek in Wylie if so your about 2-3 weeks early. Regardless its a beautiful day to be outside! Cheers!
I was most definitely early! It’s just early in general but I will eventually get on them early lol thanks for checking it out!
