    You heard it from the mouth from two of the greatest ever!! "NO MORE Load Management! The Greats went out there and PLAYED!"

    • @trainerrob1622
      @trainerrob1622 ปีที่แล้ว

      Different time and era. Load management today is not always the choice of the player and I don`t think fans understand that. Medical and training staffs are looking at a lot more data today and as a result building in multiple rest days at different points in the schedule. Also, today`s kids have a lot more mileage on their bodies by the time they get to the league then guys in that era. I`m a little younger then these two and played for 11 seasons. My front end overlapped with the end of their careers. I didn`t play nearly the amount of competitive basketball as the kids I train and coach today. In our era the summer camp circuit was far more important in terms of visibility and recuriting then the AAU circuit. For example if you are a running an elite AAU program in California/Nevada your kids can get 15 to 21 games between December 1 and Jan 1 against other elite level teams. That would be in addition to the games those kids would be playing leading into their high school holiday vacation. Call it 22 games. How many NBA teams are going to play 22+ games in December? Also we did not have to deal with a 24/7 sports news cycle. Hot Take media culture and instant gratification fan culture. Look at the Ben Simmons situation. He`s coming off back surgery. There`s games where you watch him and he can`t jump over a piece of paper. Yet as opposed to people giving him credit for being out there when he`s clearly not right and not engaging in load management everyone from the media and fans started asking if he`s washed.

    • @thaferg525
      @thaferg525 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@trainerrob1622 it doesn't matter if fans understand it or not! Fans are paying their hard-earned money to see the superstars out there on the floor and if you are a superstar in the league making millions and millions and millions of dollars you have no right cheating the fans with so-called "Load Management" no matter who's making that decision! Michael Jordan absolutely refused to let somebody take him out of a game and so did Kobe! You are not taking them out of the game no matter what!! They KNEW a future Steph Curry or somebody was out there in that crowd watching them that never got to see them play before and they came to put on a show
