扬州大明寺 Yangzhou, Daming Temple

大明寺，位于扬州市区西北郊，因初建于南北朝刘宋孝武皇帝大明年间（即公元457-464年）而得名。这座千年古刹，迭经兴废，饱经沧桑。
大明寺园区包括：大明寺、栖灵塔、鉴真纪念堂、平山堂、戒台等庙宇和景点。大明寺的大雄宝殿是僧俗进行佛事活动的中心。栖灵塔是大明寺的标志性建筑。鉴真纪念堂是为纪念鉴真和尚圆寂1200周年而建，建筑造型古朴，体现了唐代建筑艺术风格。平山堂和谷林堂分别由北宋文学大家欧阳修和苏轼所建，曾是文人墨客“品铭探幽”之地……。

Daming Temple is located in the northwest suburbs of Yangzhou City. It was first built in Daming period, during the reign of Emperor Xiaowu of Liu-Song, the Northern and Southern Dynasties (457-464 AD), so it was named as Daming Temple. This millennium old temple has undergone ups and downs, and has experienced many vicissitudes.
The Daming Temple Park includes temples and attractions such as Daming Temple, Qiling Pagoda, Jianzhen Memorial Hall, Pingshan Hall, and Jietai. The the Shakya ManiHall of Daming Temple is the center of Buddhist activities for monks and laymen. The Qiling Pagoda is a landmark building of Daming Temple. The Jianzhen Memorial Hall is built to commemorate the 1200th anniversary of the passing of Monk Jianzhen. Its architectural design is ancient and simple, reflecting the artistic style of Tang Dynasty architecture. Pingshan Hall and Gulin Hall were built by literary figures Ouyang Xiu and Su Shi of the Northern Song Dynasty, respectively. They were once places for literati to hold seminars……
