The "There is a better way" Sigma mentions was for Ultron to absorb the virus taking Sigma's essence as their own and enhancing Ultron's abilities as the Sigma virus gives robots a power up. This is the same thing as what happened to Zero. As Sigma's true form is energy virus. Once ultron destroyed the body of Sigma, the Sigma virus transferred to ultron. Just like how the maverick virus transferred from Zero to Sigma when Sigma destroyed Zero's scanner gem. This is supported by how a purple energy begins to engulf Ultron soon after they destroyed Sigma's body and before transforming in Ultron Sigma. Purple energy is the trademark color of the sigma virus if you ever played X5. And also the color of the evil energy from Mega Man 8, which the maverick virus was made from. And the "Infestation" that spreads to people ingame is just another evolutionary state of the Sigma Virus.

They really fucked up the animation of sigmas mouth, with his harsh, sinister voice, you would expect his mouth to act in the same way, with harsh widening on his jaw and the punchyness on his constants were not shown on his mouth, it was gormless and inexpressive, it’s one of the worst parts of the game.
Keep in mind that Sigma, like all reploids of the X era, is still using conventional servos and actuators for movement, much like the robot masters that came before them. He's not going to have the level of facial articulation that a human is capable of.
Mega man x has the ultimate potential and he can move faster than fucking light has the power to wield all 6 infinity stones has regenerated from a single battle core and no matter what he can go to insane lengths to defeat anyone
This game was such a major disappointment. Animation, character models, art style, music, story line, even gameplay... all of it was terrible. If only Smash Ultimate made the right choice and fully characterized Zero... The assist trophy should have been Nightmare Zero. Then, every time you hit it, you get the classic "Ueeehhhh!!!" from the Nightmare.
