Agree with you on the Runic Tarot and Darkness of Light - very wintery decks both! My other non-winter deck that I associate with the season is the Dreaming Way - there's a lot of black-and-white in the images, and the characters look vaguely Scandinavian to my eye, sort of Pippi Longstocking meets Kay Nielsen 😄
I love the Dreaming Way! I can totally see that about that deck. It’s one I use around the beginning the year a lot and that’s definitely winter where I live. 🥰
Some winter, dark half of the year decks I love are the Poesis Oracle, The Pensive Path Tarot, The Raven's Dream Tarot and the Universal Folk Oracle. Some winter decks are classified in that manner for me because I see them as quiet decks, decks that remind me of the silence of snow fall. The Tarot of the Divine, Tarot of the Abyss and The Tarot of the Holy Spectrum fall into this class for me. The quiet of going inwards. Such a fun video to see and hear your thoughts on your winter basket decks!
Brady tarot is amazing! It's one of my top decks because of its honesty and art. Thank you for another great video. I love that the dog deck has a Boston Terrier in it.
I’m very new to the world of Tarot and have only just started curating my decks. I have Oak Ash and Thorn which feels very Fall and Spirit Song which feels very Spring, but I realized as you mentioned that animal decks don’t really reasonable with you that even though I enjoyed the artwork, I also had some trouble really connecting to those decks. My favorite right now is the Light Seekers which has such fun bright colors (probably why I’m so drawn to it) but I live in Texas where we don’t really have a lot of real seasonal changes so for ow I’m just enjoying learning about the story of the deck and the energy of the cards. It’s very interesting to think of them as belonging to different seasons.
Tarot De La Nuit is in my top 5 decks. I hesitated because I thought the novelty of the artwork would wear off fast... but when I read the guidebook - I was amazed how something so little could be so "In your face". I love how the stories are very confronting or challenging. I call it my mini- Hidden Realm deck. Because it has the same character development but in shorter direct writing. I am never drawn to dark decks, so when I read the artist's goal for the deck it suddenly made sense - a night deck full of beauty and light. :)
I love this deck. On the outside, yes it’s “body beautiful” however, I feel like those who look beyond that, who work and deep dive with this deck, the readings are just incredible. It’s a deck that will read according to how it’s perceived. If all that’s seen is the cosmetics of it, then sure, the readings will also be a bit cosmetic, none too deep, possibly even cold readings. I’m rambling and hope I’m making sense lol.
@@MsNikkieMichelle I love Tarot de la Nuit too, and what you’re saying makes perfect sense. It’s a lot like how we can tend to assume in real life that beautiful people are shallow and unintelligent, not looking any deeper than the surface and thinking we have them all figured out; beauty must be all they have to offer or else why would they put so much into their appearance? This deck very effectively peels back its own facade as one works with it and reveals a lot of depth. In her video about Tarot de la Nuit, Dawn mentioned pairing it with the Divine Circus Orcale, and I feel that makes the perfect statement. Circuses are beautiful and fantastical by design, but underneath and behind the scenes there’s a whole lot of grit and challenge and talent and so much more. Tarot de la Nuit lets us peak behind the curtain.
I use the Badger’s Forest Tarot by Nakisha most in the winter, having rebacked the cards with a cherry wood contact paper and moded the fronts of a few to further winterize it. It works phenomenally with the Seasons of the Witch Yule oracle. I also like the TOTEM Tarot deck by Rachel White, the Jasniak Black and White Tarot, and the Star Tarot. The backs of The Star Tarot are so wonderfully wintery, and I get Seasonal Affective Disorder, so all the vibrant colors in the deck give me a boost when wintery muted tones start feeling too heavy. (I got that deck after seeing it on your channel and love it). I just got the Anima Mundi Tarot with the intention of using it in late winter with the Seasons of the Witch Imbolc oracle. It’s mostly greyish blues with some warm earth tones I feel will work really well for that time.
Hi Dawn, I love your seasonal deck collection videos! Like Taralscozy says, the influence of angels is now in linen, I just ordered it too on the uc games website I love this deck as well. A great reader and the guidebook is really well done.
I’m going to use the Influence of Angel Tarot too. I just ordered it so I don’t have it yet. I’m excited. I only have 2 other decks, Fantasy Garden Tarot and Genius Garnen Tarot so both very spring/summer. I love your winter decks!
Love these decks. Future ancestors is something I wonder how well it would pair with the Death Doula oracle. I love the Brady Tarot, it’s one of the few animal decks I own as even though I’m an animal lover, animal decks don’t quite resonate with my practice and journey at this current time. The guardian of the night tarot is another exception and Tarot of the Abyss is quite simply incredible. I always enjoy your videos!
I love the Tarot of the Abyss and really enjoy pairing it with the sacred creators oracle for a pop of colour. I am thinking of getting the seasons of the witch Imbolc oracle to pair with it for new year clean slate energy. 💫
Thank you Dawn Michelle for this wonderful collection!! Absolutely beautiful!! Do you have particular pens that you prefer to edge with? The edging on the Guardian of Night Tarot made it pop even more.
I generally use my Tombow markers for edging. Although I had successfully edged with Crayola too. I avoid Sharpies cause they bleed and give me a massive headache, but I think that’s what most people use. I think I have some video about my mod tools in my playlists. 😊
@@DawnMichelleTarot Thank you soo much! That is very helpful!! I like the Tombow too but still was a little worried about the "bleed" factor and the smell. I will look for your mod video. Have a wonderful holiday and happy new year!💜
That you put the Trionfi de la Luna paradoxical in the winter collection didn't fit for me at first glance. But then that thought came up in my head about like that color palette with the chocolate-caramel brown background and the sugary colors on top really remind me of gingerbread with sugar topping. And how fitting is that for winter and christmas.
I LOVE pairing my Tarot of the Abyss with Oracle of Echoes. Both, of course, are by the same artist, Ana Tourian, but the BW tarot deck with her color Oracle make some beautiful & powerful magic for me when paired together!
Thanks for sharing ☺️☺️
Yes! Influence Of Angels is linen now 😍 Love this beautifully dark, cozy collection 🥰
Influence of Angels has a linen edition. Saw an Insta post where they showed the finish. Still gold gilding tho. I'll try to find and post it here.

I love my Influence of Angels linen edition. 💜
I might have to snag a new copy of that! 🥰

Ooh I will have to try Future Ancestors with Death Doula! I hadn’t thought of that. 🥰

Ooh that’s such a cool pairing idea! I need to try that. 🥰

I sure wish Anna K was still in print. 🥰
It is! In the creator’s website ❤️
