This song taught me that I don't need permission to be myself when I was growing up. And the fact that it came out on my birthday made me think I was destined to hear it.
This song still gives me tingles, makes me want to fly and cry at the same time.....😢❤️
When I was in elementary school, my classmate Erin danced to this song and made it even more haunting and captivating. Been trying to find the title for years, and got it mixed up with Metamorphosis because of the lyrics and theme of transformation. I can still picture her dancing to this, slowly and dramatically in a yellow gown.

This song means that even though the world is Predictable and life isn't always what you want it to be, you need to "give it your all" anyway. You should stop worrying about what people think of you and go for your dreams (this appears to be a common theme in Hilary's music). Let go of all the things that others have said to hurt you in the past, get up in front of the world and just be proud of who you are. Believe that you're the very best and never be afraid to try. The line that stood out to me most was "You know you're better than anyone else" because I often feel like I'm worse than anyone else. To me it says you should have great confidence and pride in yourself and refuse to let people tell you that you're less than you really are. Show everybody what you're made of - FLY!

After a horrible break up I lost myself and just dont feel who i am or was before anymore. But for a long time after that this song was singing in my soul and I needed to hear it now I just feel my childhood become a safe place in my head even tho my childhood was also a wreck music was always there to take me away from my pain and sorrows. It makes me wanna start loving life again and let go.
After all these years (it's 2017 now) I suddenly remembered this song while driving. This was my favorite as a little kid I'm so nostagic rn.

I always remember this song from the Raise Your Voice soundtrack and it made me feel so complete when listening to a song of exhilaration. She came a long way from being on Lizzie McGuire and she was the best teenager on the show. I also like her in Casper Meets Wendy and she looks so stunning wearing that red cape. She was the best character playing Steve Martin’s daughter in Cheaper By The Dozen.
