Hello from Orlando that tree that you’re referring to in the beginning of the video is called a royal Poinciana tree grows beautiful, yellow flowers then they fall off and pink seed pods. Take Their Pl., Japanese beetles share to live nearby.
Hi! I live in NW Florida and I got a tree earlier this year. It's small right now, but it's producing quite a few berries. Mine haven't turned red at all. They are a cream color when they ripen. They taste good. The ones I've got remind me of cereal milk.
That tree that was on the property when you acquired it looks like a Golden Rain tree (Koelreuteria paniculata). They are beautiful, but very invasive and will make thousands of seedlings every year.
@@orlandogardener pest tree and seedlings have deep tap root hard to pull, a tree that should not even be sold due to how invasive it is, although the flowers are cute for a month in October
I heard they make some serious tasty jams.VERY EASY to grow by seed with like 100% germination ratio........Yes, I have about 300 teeny tiny babies......I am building a sunroom on the southside of the house SPECIAL for this tree and the blackberry jam tree.Yes, all the vanilla bean seeds sprouted too.lol.....
@@orlandogardener I tried to germinate seeds from a tree that used to be at Lue Gardens ( which died years ago after a cold winter) and they never sprouted for me :/

I was surprised to see when I transplanted my strawberry tree that the roots are actually very shallow. That's why you can manage the height of that tree.
Haha bro said yes , which don't even make sense , I'm wondering the same , and only have one untill get some seeds from the fruit and don't wanna chance it.
I recently purchased this tree and the leaves are turning yellow and falling off and I’m left with a stick. Any suggestions? I am in West Central Florida and I’m hoping the tree is just dormant since we had a recent cold snap.
It was actually dead. I drove 120 miles to the nursery where I bought it. I came home with four more trees, one died. Of the three I have left, which are in pots, I am getting on average five cherries a day. Delicious. It has been so hot here, it has been a struggle to keep them properly hydrated in pots. Hopefully I will have land soon so that I can put them in the ground!
I taste a mix of cotton candy and butterscotch from my tree.
