Great review. One other side effect of prostaglandin analogs is loss of fat around the eye and sunken eyes with longer term use because the prostaglandin analog impedes fat generation and shrinks fat cells. So, it can make young people have thicker lashes, but take away fat around the eye which makes the eyes look older. So, I would avoid it. Supposedly in "most" cases the fat loss reverses upon stopping the product. This side effect was noticed in glaucoma patients who only used drops in one eye and could compare the difference between the treated / untreated eyes. If used in both eyes you might not realize it happening unless you compare to old pictures.

It did make my eyes red for the first week , but It went away . No dark circles or other crazy reactions . I’m hooked now ! So much darker , longer and fuller ! 😍 Helpful review nonetheless!
This really grew my lashes and I loved it. But after over a year of using it I noticed my eyes looked more sunken and the irritation it was causing on my eyelids led to constant styes then eventually blepharitis. Prostaglandin analogues work but the side effects are real. Read your literature ladies.

the hyperpigmentation is more common with people with darker skin tones so if your tan-white you don’t have to worry as much, but if you do see it stop using it! it’s also temporary so if it ever does happen to you it can always be reversed :)
All the videos I keep seeing are of these ladies who already HAVE nice eyelashes. Believe me, if my lashes looked like hers naturally, I wouldn't be bothering with serums at all. I really wish I could find a video of someone with very fine, blond lashes who tried a serum (any serum!) and could see what happened to THEM. sigh
Nah dont let this video discourage you im the same skin tone as you and i didnt get darkness i can see u just applied it wrong dont put too much product one dip for both eyes is enough dont get it on your eyelids just the lash line and make sure it dries before laying in bed use a fan or a paper to dry it if u have too and be precise dont be lazy and you will be good 🥰
Yea I definitely recommend using a fan to dry it before going to bed. I applied it just as instructed. Minimal product and right under the lash line like a liquid eyeliner. It didn’t work for me but i am glad it worked for you 🤍
I’m on day 3, and my eyes burn and turn red every night… I feel like I’m starting to see the darkness but I actually kind of like it because my eyes aren’t naturally very defined looking. My eyes burned so bad from this. I barely used any, waited for it to dry for 2 mins then used a fan to make sure. Every morning after my eyes were red and burning and they even started twitching (probably from being dried out). I was so freaked out I went to the eye doctor to see if I caused damage. Luckily he said I was fine but was having dry eyes because the serum has alcohol in it which can cause some people to have that drying irritation. The next day after stopping I've had NO problems.
I've been using it for almost 2 months now. May I ask how soon you started losing lashes? I know everyones system is different...but nobody ever said it caused fallout...wow.
There are lash serum conditioners that don’t have that darkening side effect. They’re not as effective though. That’s the same ingredient in the prescription lash serums too. Some people with significant lash and brow hair loss find the benefits outweigh the side effects. Your lashes are beautiful and stunning so I don’t think you need it. Thank you for posting this video though as there are a lot of people out there who need to know this stuff before they buy and try.
I’ve been using Monat’s “lash and brow enhancing serum” for years. I don’t believe it contains the ingredient that causes the fat loss. Monat stands for “modern nature” and all their products are suppose to be naturally based. They use high-quality botanical extracts, essential oils and vitamins in their formulations. Altho, it shouldn’t be confused with an all- natural product. I haven’t noticed any side effects and it definitely keeps my lashes longer and fuller than they are naturally. I see women with the most amazing lashes who use the really effective “bad for you serums” and I wonder how my lashes would turn out if I tried those. But at the same time, the one I’ve been using for years gives me enough results that it’s probably better I don’t risk it. However I’m am very curious lol
I agree I have tried many lash serums and they gave me beautiful long thick lashes but horrible darkness on my eyelids and undereyes . I bought the lash serum so I didn’t have to wear makeup , but then had to keep wearing makeup to cover the pigmentation around my eyes 😐.

I didn’t get darkness from GrandeLash, but I did get it Latisse. I decided to stop using serums with prostaglandins. Now I use AnteAge MD serum. It’s not as good as Latisse or GrandeLash, but I don’t get any of their side effects.
i got one of the sample kits that had the lash serum, the brow serum and the mascara. I did what you did and just applied it , I wasn't really neat with it either, I would apply with my eye closed and it would get all over my lid, then I would go to bed. Well I saw a change in just a couple weeks! It was really helping and when I put on the mascara I could see it was really working. But after two weeks of using it I went to put on eye cream and my concealer and I did a double take when I noticed HOW DARK the skin around my eyes was! I also got deep circles that were very dark. It looked like I had been hit in the eyes!! I quit using the lash serum and am still using the brow serum cause my brows mostly fell out due to an autoimmune illness. I thought if I can't have my own lashes, at least I will have the brows. Also I let it dry before I lay down and I make sure it only touches my brows. I wish I would have known about this before I used it!! It can make you have the deep hollows in the tear trough too I found out and it can't be reversed unless you do filler or something! NO thanks, I am not experimenting with anything else!

I had the same experience! I attributed it to iron deficiency. I was wrong. I won’t continue to use this product even though it gave me super long lashes.
I'm so glad I found your review before purchasing. I read that castor oil works without side effects, but I haven't seen any improvement. Sorry this happened to you, but you have nice thick lashes anyway and look beautiful. You don't need to do anything more than mascara. I have blonde, short, skimpy lashes and the struggle is real. :-)
Thanks for the sweet comment 🤍. So someone here recommended to try Anteage MD serum. It’s doesn’t have prostaglandins so there’s no dark circle side effects. They say it’s another option instead of Castor oil. I haven’t done enough research on it, so I can’t 100% recommend it, but might be worth looking into.
Been using Scorolash for almost two months...no burning etc. I'm 70 so it's taking more time. I've seen some improvement after the first month...and will continue with it and see if the results are good...until 3 months have gone by. That should be enough time to see any results. Tried castor oil for years...nothing
I've been using this serum for about 5 months and while I like the growth in my eyelashes, the darkness around my eyes is really bad. I don't want to stop using the product, but I think I need to. Nicer lashes, but gross darkness around the eyes. I guess it's not worth it. Like it's making you look better, and then it's making you look worse.... frustrating. I'm going to stop using it and hope the discoloration gets better. I'm a lot paler than you, so it's really noticeable and I've been struggling with concealers. Not worth it.

I didn’t experience this I love grande lash!! You just need a light amount on the lash line like barely even put any one the eyelid. Just sounds like user error to me... why would u put it all over it eyelid like that and smush wet eyes on a pillow!
Use good Ole dollar store Vaseline. I was complete bold from stress. They are comming in nicely. You can also use food grade castor oil which is also cheap.

Well, most eyelashes serum have the same side effect because if it was wet and touch the lashes in the bottom it will darken the area so u should apply it the right way.

That is exactly what happened to me within 2 weeks of using REVITALASH SERUM .. I started being crazy, asking my self what was the cause ? Is it severe body dryness and water deficiency, so i need to drink more water? Or is it lack of sleeping as i’m not having enough sleeping hours the last few months. How did you get rid of your dark eyelids did you use a serum or anything special to help your lids go back to normal ? I stopped the serum but I use the Rodman and fields one.
How are you liking the Rodan? It took about 2 months for it to go back to normal. I didn’t put any eye cream beacuse I didn’t want to make things worse. I used a face cleanser, vitamin c, moisturizer, and collagen to help the skin rejuvenate.
You’re actually not even supposed be applying it to your eye lid . You literally have to avoid the skin and apply right on the root of your lashes. This applies to any eye lash serum.
Nooo!!! I’ve been using Babe Lash serum and it’s been working amazingly! But I noticed lately that the skin around my eyes was really dark. I didn’t know what to make of it but now I do. I’m so sad. My lashes were growing so long! I’m going to go pout in the corner.
I have been using the lash serum from DS Laboratories. This also does not have prostaglandin analogs but I swear, my eyelids are darker. The serum definitely does what it claims but I HATE my dark eyelids caused by the serum. There is an ingredient called POLYAMINOPROPYL BIGUANIDE in the serum. I wonder if it's the culprit. I am considering going to castor oil now. Not sure it will do anything but I do not like the hyperpigmentation.
Ugh! The Polyaminopropyl sounds guilty to me 😭. Ive been off and on with Castor oil. Haven’t seen much change, but maybe that’s because of my poor consistency. Let me know how it works for you.
i was planning on buying this product this weekend because i dont like how my lashes look rn i just want them to grow and look more full but i wanted to ask since i really want to try this product , if i apply it correctly and wait for it to dry before i sleep will that cause any diffrence or does anyone have any advice on growing my lashes and making them fuller ?
Castor oil might be your best bet. I don’t think this product is worth the risk. There is a high possibility of discoloration due to the product ingredients :/. Best of luck on your growth journey 🤍
Took about 2 months 😅. I didn’t put anything directly under my eyes just because I didn’t want to make it worse. I did start to wash my face twice a day, add vitamin c and moisturizer and that has been keeping my skin good.
I just got this today I’m not that into make up. But my mom used I think a mascara primer before her mascara. But the girl at Ulta said that they had to restock 3 times. I put the grande lash grow serum on like 2 hours ago I had no idea of the side affects. I want long lashes also I don’t want to waste the $70 bucks I paid for it with tax. Idk if I should keep applying it please help if your reading this

Carla Serrano my sunken eyes have gotten away, I still have discoloration, that’s bc I still use it. I’m not getting rid of my long lashes now😭😂. I now use it every other day, applying just one dip for both eyes.
I don’t think it would help because it wouldn’t be removing the underline problem (the serum). Most people use eye pads for puffiness. It wouldn’t hurt to give it a try, but not sure if it’s worth it. I hope this helps.
I’m using revitalash and I’m experiencing the same thing. In fact my dark circles are really really bad, and I never used to have any dark circles before. Not worth it. Just wear false lashes when you want to glam up.
Ok, I guess let me just go back to being consistent with jamaican black castor oil lol. I just recently purchased the trial 4/6 weeks size & thanks to this review I will not be trying this product out! Lol.

I'm going to research those eye serums too. There hasn't been 1 that hasn't caused my undereye to darken.

I did 😭. I put it on as instructed. Right above the lash line like liquid eyeliner. I even would let it dry for 1-2 minutes but that wasn’t enough.

I did girl! 😭 I put it on as instructed. I even would let it dry for 1-2 minutes but that wasn’t enough.
Use good Ole dollar store Vaseline. I was complete bold from stress. They are comming in nicely. You can also use food grade castor oil which is also cheap.

Well, most eyelashes serum have the same side effect because if it was wet and touch the lashes in the bottom it will darken the area so u should apply it the right way.
So glad I seen this I was seconds away from buying it. Do you think lash lifts does the same thing? I get lash lifts for special occasions like holidays and birthdays (so probably 2 or 3 times a year) and it last for like couple months if I upkeep the maintenance…I haven’t realized yet if it makes my eyes dark but I’m wondering if it has the same effect
That is exactly what happened to me within 2 weeks of using REVITALASH SERUM .. I started being crazy, asking my self what was the cause ? Is it severe body dryness and water deficiency, so i need to drink more water? Or is it lack of sleeping as i’m not having enough sleeping hours the last few months. But I did not believe all this, because I started having the dark circles all of a sudden within few days !!!

How did you get rid of your dark eyelids did you use a serum or anything special to help your lids go back to normal ? I stopped the serum but I use the Rodman and fields one.
How are you liking the Rodan? It took about 2 months for it to go back to normal. I didn’t put any eye cream beacuse I didn’t want to make things worse. I used a face cleanser, vitamin c, moisturizer, and collagen to help the skin rejuvenate.
You’re actually not even supposed be applying it to your eye lid . You literally have to avoid the skin and apply right on the root of your lashes. This applies to any eye lash serum.

I have been using the lash serum from DS Laboratories. This also does not have prostaglandin analogs but I swear, my eyelids are darker. The serum definitely does what it claims but I HATE my dark eyelids caused by the serum. There is an ingredient called POLYAMINOPROPYL BIGUANIDE in the serum. I wonder if it's the culprit.
I am considering going to castor oil now. Not sure it will do anything but I do not like the hyperpigmentation.
Ugh! The Polyaminopropyl sounds guilty to me 😭. Ive been off and on with Castor oil. Haven’t seen much change, but maybe that’s because of my poor consistency. Let me know how it works for you.
The same darkening effect happened to me but it would go away quickly. Now I only use it once a week as maintenance.

i was planning on buying this product this weekend because i dont like how my lashes look rn i just want them to grow and look more full but i wanted to ask since i really want to try this product , if i apply it correctly and wait for it to dry before i sleep will that cause any diffrence or does anyone have any advice on growing my lashes and making them fuller ?
Castor oil might be your best bet. I don’t think this product is worth the risk. There is a high possibility of discoloration due to the product ingredients :/. Best of luck on your growth journey 🤍

Took about 2 months 😅. I didn’t put anything directly under my eyes just because I didn’t want to make it worse. I did start to wash my face twice a day, add vitamin c and moisturizer and that has been keeping my skin good.
I just got this today I’m not that into make up. But my mom used I think a mascara primer before her mascara. But the girl at Ulta said that they had to restock 3 times. I put the grande lash grow serum on like 2 hours ago I had no idea of the side affects. I want long lashes also I don’t want to waste the $70 bucks I paid for it with tax. Idk if I should keep applying it please help if your reading this

Girl I wishhh it wasn’t the serum but it was 😩. I spent good money on that serum for it to go to waste 😭. I had to let it go once I realized what was happening. Wasn’t worth the eye damage for me.
It is definitely the serum, I have been using it for like 8 months and my eyes look horrible now! They are so dark and I constany look sick/ tired. I've heard from many people that they have experienced the same side effects as well.

I would apply it the way you would apply liquid eyeliner. My biggest mistake was not letting it dry.

Carla Serrano my sunken eyes have gotten away, I still have discoloration, that’s bc I still use it. I’m not getting rid of my long lashes now😭😂. I now use it every other day, applying just one dip for both eyes.

Hey there! The most natural way is Castor oil. It is slow and tedious 😭, but it has zero side effects. That’s what I am doing now.
Do you think putting eye pads under your eyes after putting it on would help the pigmentation issue xx

I don’t think it would help because it wouldn’t be removing the underline problem (the serum). Most people use eye pads for puffiness. It wouldn’t hurt to give it a try, but not sure if it’s worth it. I hope this helps.

I’m using revitalash and I’m experiencing the same thing. In fact my dark circles are really really bad, and I never used to have any dark circles before. Not worth it. Just wear false lashes when you want to glam up.

Hi! I haven’t tried that, but all areas of my eyes had a negative reaction to the serum. I think it’s more of an ingredient problem.
