I need one of these bad boys! I absolutely hate dealing with trying to roll up my 50 feet pressure washer hose. It works well, it's just too darned long to try and deal with rolling it back up, even being a more flexible replacement hose. Anything that can make that experience better is a win in my book.
Another helpful video. The retractable is really the right solution for detailing. I have a manual reel with my wall mounted setup which is ok but at some point, I do believe that moving to retractable will make sense. Would be great if you could do a long term on this one.
Blubird make a retractable pressure washer reel or if you actually want very high quality, reelcraft make them too albeit without a hose so you can put a kobrajet in them. I have the MTM reel as well and debating if i should spend $750 cad on the reelcraft.
It comes with a M22 14 and an M22 15. You can always add a QC to the M22 whip line if you want or just screw on the M22 directly on to the pressure washer. I bought a QC for it and it works great.
Can you swap out the hose for a uberflex hose? I converted a merlin air hose reel that I bought from harbor freight and it works good but it doesn't always fully retract like it should.
@DetailProjects yea after I watched your video that one popped up lol. I have a uberflex and really like that hose and want to keep using it. In all honesty the one I modded from harbor freight gets the job done for now, if it ever breaks I'll wind up getting this one.
Cars with Keav did a video on replacing the stock hose with an Uberflex, however in my opinion it looked too complicated, so not sure if it’s worth the effort. Feel free to check his video out though!
@@DetailProjects yeah I've seen it , I feel the same . Just don't understand why they just didn't give you the option to swap out to whatever hose you would want to use on the reel. I'm thinking about getting the set pressure washer reel and air hose
If I was you I would rather just buy this hose reel and use it as is, because you won’t have any leaks or any issues and the hose is decent. If you try to modify an air hose reel you are going to have more issues with leaks and it would cost a lot more for no real benefit in my opinion.

Curious why you didn't rotate the hose guide facing out. You're binding the hose at 90 degrees causing drag and friction
Blushield/bluebird also makes retractable water hose reels. That giraffe tools looks a good option too
Price point on the giraffe tools is pretty solid tbh
Thank you for your review I’ll probably get one for my garage not to many pressure washer ready hose reels on the market

It’s been 7 months. How has the reel held up? Does it still wind/unwind smoothly still?
Do you need a mtm 14 millimeter or can you just attach the quick connect on the 5ft whip and plug into the pressure washer?

I think another TH-cam channel did this , but honestly there is no need for this mod, the hose that comes with the reel is fairly decent

Hey, do you have any updates on this reel? I’m looking to get one for mobile detailing but I can’t find it in Canada for MSRP.
It’s usually on Amazon.ca for under $200, it must be out of stock for now. Keep an eye out on their store on Amazon.
How is it holding up?
Honestly I barely use it so it’s still like new. No leaks so far.
how is the reel holding up
👍
Anyway to change the hose ?

@@DetailProjects agreed
Not great quality.. The hose is horrible.
