True Dr Daniel. I use farm products for most of my food recipes and videos and I know how unpredictable it is sometimes. I once didn't have yellow york eggs available for my recipes because my nearest farmer was out of business due to feed prices. I had to take the hard way out, but now I'm back and doing just fine. Ups and downs!

Thanks doc, the first time i brooded my chics without a hen, i lost almost 70% but it was a great way to learn. when i tried the second time the mortality was low and on the third time i raised all my chics with zero deaths. Imagine if i had given up the first time. Farming trains one to become patient and patience is very crucial in our daily lives.

This is the encouragement I was exactly looking for. You inspired me to start 2 months ago. Then 2 weeks ago some illness struck my 150 kroilers baby chicks. I have already lost over 15 of them. I have tried diagnosing them but all in vain. Today I called some Vet and he recommended we do postmortem of the dead ones. I'm waiting for the results. I'm really tensed because I don't want the disease to spread to the other over 450 chicks.

Most farmers post only their success and novice jump into agriculture targeting only profits.

This is a great video! It sounds like you have been properly baptized/initiated into the realities of being an agricultural producer. Now you may have an understanding of why Poultry producers in Canada formed government approved marketing boards which are a kind of producer cartel/union and Poultry producers in the U.S.A. are complaining about being controlled by large processing companies (see 'Supersize Me 2: Holy Chicken!')
Trying to ride two horses at once is difficult so I hope you can find an experienced local maize grower to help you grow maize for yellow yolks or find a better feed formula without maize or less maize and perhaps rent/lease the paddock land after some drainage ditches and/or ponds are dug. It sounds and looks like there is more than enough water in the area. Grass and shrubs require water. The thorny shrubs puzzle me because they are associated with drought so a local agricultural expert should be consulted. I would even look into installing agricultural subsurface drainage to increase the ratio of air to water in the soil and keep the water table below three feet/ one meter. Perhaps one paddock of 100 acres could be fenced off and systematically tiled into a surface drainage ditch. You could start with surface drains. That low area that always floods might be your most productive land when properly improved and managed. A market gardener could make 20 acres quite profitable.
