I just bought myself Coach Brooklyn 28 in lime after watching many reviews and can I say the quality of Coach nowadays far batter than the high lux brands.
I like the LV hobo and the Fendi, also I kept my vintage coach bags because they are very well made and still on trend for my age range, however I just purchased the new denim tabby 20 because it is so cute and has the Napa leather chain strap like my Chanel mini. Only $400. Felt so good to not pay a ridiculous amount for a beautiful well made handbag
Not gonna lie. I OWN the authentic in that same exact color and I STILL got it wrong! And I even use the bag every single day! Only goes to show how damn good these *jklux* are visually. Now guessing which is the fake by feeling them both in my hands is another story.
Thank you Jess🙏. I have I have about 5 coach bags, and they all have been really good quality, no wear issues at all. I’m sure the company would stand behind the product if you needed to return or exchange. Same price point is Atelier Auguste and better quality I would say. But I like both. Last year I actually bought a pre loved ferragamo hobo bag, gorgeous, for similar price point. 💕
RE Coach: If you get the glove tanned leather (like all the vintage ones are), you won't have the problem that Sophie had. I think anything puffy or quilted (like her backpack) might have thinner leather too & therefore more fragile.
I use my *jklux* as a work bag and have had no issues at all. It’s a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadn’t lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and don’t carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interior.
Love a hobo bag. Currently have the MM6 Japanese bag in grained leather. The trick to tackling the void is having a few pouches to organize/separate your things.
I’m so glad hobos are back. It’s my favorite style handbag. The coach option is nice. I’m not a fan of the coach logo either. Coach leather was magical and so high quality in the 80s and 90s and I have a mini vintage collection. I don’t know the current leather but I’ve heard it’s not super high quality. I need to visit the store and see what I think of the quality of leather on that hobo.
When we were in New York, my grandma was so excited for my 1 th birthday that she bought me a bag from *hotdups* . It wasn’t expensive, but I still have that bag in my closet. It’s been a long time, but I still remember the smile on her face when she gave it to me.
I’m more a fan of vintage Coach, but the value is there with modern Coach compared to other luxury brands. The perceived higher quality of the others is mostly just that- perceived but not materially substantiated. I saw Sophie’s video and was really disappointed by that, but I’m also seeing the exact same issues reported with new Chanel! 😮 Years ago, circa 2009, at the time being largely uneducated on these things, brought a bag back to a coach store with denim color transfer asking for help with how to fix it. The SA, couldn’t offer me a replacement but gave me a full credit to select a different bag. The customer service was beyond what they needed to do. I do suspect that their service, like most things, isn’t what it used to be. But I do think that if Sophie went into a store she would get a better response than she did.
I agree with your last paragraph. Well, the last paragraph really resonated with me. It’s hard to ignore a customer complaint when the customer is in your face.
Yeah, it shouldn’t be necessary- the email/phone response should have been better. But every time I’ve dealt with the Coach SAs and any kind of concern, I’ve always been pleased with how kind and helpful they are as opposed to some of the other brands that make you feel like you have to beg for their help.
Hobo bags are actually not easy to use, with everything all mixed up it's hard to find stuff. Most are also north south, meaning it's very deep. Hobo style came back after out of fashion some time ago. I rather stick to totes, which are more classic and easier to use. Imo. Xx
The key to a good hobo bag is the sections inside it. The Coach Lana has a middle section and two side pockets. It’s not a big black hole. Also , the bigger the hobo bag, the heavier it tends to be.
I bought the zip swing tote after your video! I think Coach glove tanned leather is fantastic and ages well over time (which is what the zip swing tote is made of). That’s my recommendation when you select a Coach bag! Vintage Coach is almost all glove tanned leather. Modern Coach has less options that are gloved tanned.
In Australia AMEX have a deal going with Coach at the moment. I think you can get $100 off if you spend $500. If they had the Swing Zip in a good colour, I’d seriously consider buying it. I like vintage Coach best, but some modern styles/leathers are good too. Not all modern styles have leather lining, but some do 😊
Hi Jess! Great post. I actually like the Fendi the best out of all those bags. I’m not really into coach anymore their quality has definitely gone down. So, I’m not looking to invest anymore money into coach- especially since the denim crossbody I purchased specifically for my Japan trip IN JUNE the leather strap broke off when I got home! I was in the dentists office standing at the reception desk it broke and fell and it was open (getting my wallet out) and everything fell all over. So, nope. Not interested in Coach after that.
Coach items are hits and misses. I had bought several Coach items between 2018-2022. Those from 1941 line is good. But lines can lesser quality leather. Also watch out the linings. Some have trims that are leather like. I had inquire whether the trims were genuine leather at the concept store before purchase and was assured the bag was made in genuine leather and I trusted the sales person instead of my instincts. Around 2023, I discovered that one of these bags with that trim had messy interior due to the pilling trims. This one I donated to the Salvation Army after I cleaned the interior, but the exterior was almost brand new. I sold off all the Coach bags I owned except 2. One of the 2 was a Swing bag (not Swing Zip), it was a 1941 line. The manufacturer should indicate the material of linings too. When it’s lined with textile or microfibre, it’s okay to me, but faux leather needs to be highlighted since some of the spill over time.
I bought 4 coach bags in 2023 and had to return all of them because they all had problems. The leather pealing or scratching, missing hang tag, etc. so I have been taking a break from Coach. I don’t like to return stuff. But I’m not paying for brand new products with defects on it.
I had a modern day coach bag and the handle broke after wearing it for just a few hours and it was almost empty. I only had my keys, wallet, and phone. It was very embarrassing because I was in a crowded place. I do, however, think vintage coach is much better and I have never had any issues with any of my vintage coach bags❤
Hi Jess, Off topic, but the bookcase behind you...is it Ikea - what's it called? I love the glass shelves. They look like they are deep too; are they? Thx
Hi! The issue with Sophie's Coach piece, is not the leather, but the dye/color on the leather. The color dye peeled off. Again it should not happen, but their leather is exquisite. Hopefully this is something that they can fix with their dyed leathers. TFS!
Not all Coach bags are worth it, the leather varies. That said, I have the Coach Swing Zip in maple, purchased in store so I was able to touch the leather and it's totally worth it.
it just like shopping bag I like low key tote more I love coach you know I always talk about too much I am in love with quilted zip card case I have 5 haha but think you not like it as you love Hermes
The Coach Brooklyn is a cheap paper thin “leather” and the interior is horrible. Feels and looks like sandpaper. The LV Low Key Hobo is a luscious leather bag. Expensive, yes. But, worth it.
I’m not a fan of hobo bags. Older women wearing them look dated. It’s like frosted hair tips. My vintage unlined Coach bags are outstanding. No C logos. I haven’t bought a contemporary coach bag.
@Jessiestyle don't know where this person is getting their info, but all my vintage Coach bags are great quality genuine leather with suede interior, so definitely real.

Yesss coach is totally worth it! I have the Brooklyn and it’s so soft and sits so nicely on my shoulder!
Love that bag!!! Thanks for your thoughts Jen!!

Thanks Jean!!! I will remember that..no puffy leather!!💕
I have never been disappointed by a *hotdups* bag. The leather is silky soft, the hardware is durable, and the design never goes out of style.

I've bought probably around 10 Coach bags in the last few years, never had a quality issue and the leather is as good as any of my designer bags
I love slouchy hobo bag! I'm so happy that it's coming back on trend.

I have many coach bags and the quality has been great.
From what I've seen lately, Coach has some nice stuff out.

Oh i like the Fendi hobo 😍
I loved the LV because of the adjustable strap, keeps things visually interesting & practical.
I have the YSL Hobo small and love it, ist easy to find stuff, classic, and minimalist

I LOVE the Hermes Evelyn PM. Low key, comfortable and stylist.
Ooo yes!!! that's a good one!
I like the Coach bag. I have the Aesther Ekme Sac bag on my wishlist.
The Row Bindle Bag looks like the Hermès Massai Bag, imho.

@@idaranwa4370 ya perhaps internal pockets make a difference! :)
It provides more organization. So does a bag organizer!

Good to know. I have not had that kind of luck with glove tanned leather. It scratches badly.
that's great yvonne!!! i love it! hope you are enjoying it😍

Coach is awful quality and most new ones aren’t real leather!!!!
really!?!?!

@dva5610 every Coach bag I have is real leather except my denim one.
@@jeangenie5179 coachtopia is all fake leather.
It’s funny I googled what hobo means and it’s homeless or vagrant. They have to carry all their stuff around. Coach is so overpriced for what ya get.
