  • Exclusive to Sydney this summer, the largest cultural exhibition to arrive in Australia in over a decade is now open. "Ramses & the Gold of the Pharaohs" transports visitors back 3,300 years, across the sands of the Sahara Desert to the heart of Ancient Egypt, where the legendary Ramses II, also known as Ramses the Great, ruled with grandeur and majesty. This is an Australian-first event that showcases one of the most remarkable collections of ancient artifacts.
This multi-sensory museum experience provides an insightful look into the life and accomplishments of Ramses II, who reigned for an incredible 67 years, living to the age of 92. The exhibition is exclusive to Sydney and features 182 priceless artifacts, including the sarcophagus of Ramses II-one of the most elaborate royal coffins from ancient Egypt-and other precious items, some of which have never before left Egypt.
Visitors are taken on an immersive journey through a range of exquisitely preserved artifacts, from sarcophagi and mummified animals to spectacular royal masks, magnificent jewelry, detailed amulets, and golden treasures from the tombs, all reflecting the masterful craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian artisans.
An added highlight of the exhibition is a virtual reality experience that allows you to explore two of Ramses' most famous architectural achievements: the temples of Abu Simbel and the Tomb of Queen Nefertari, Ramses II's beloved consort. Using cinematic motion chairs, viewers can soar through ancient temples, navigate sandstorms, and even come face-to-face with Ramses' mummified remains in an electrifying animated tour. The VR experience is available as an add-on, and a free audio-described guide is offered for visitors with low vision.
This unique and exhilarating exhibition is an opportunity not to be missed, providing a fascinating look at the life, legacy, and extraordinary achievements of Ramses the Great. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the wonders of Ancient Egypt in the heart of Sydney.
