I am a year late but it became popular cause Dark Souls 3 had a character which was a direct reference.

@@danny08390 He meant the lady with the egg at the end of the "Ringed City" DLC. Once touched, maid Filianore, slumbering with a egg-like sphere that crumbles away when you touch her. Awakening her from slumber causes the entirety of Ringed City to collapse and getting destroyed. It is true that Angel's Egg inspired the entirety of Dark Souls... For one - they are both dark fantasy stories of the world that has been forsaken by god and now are slowly dying. Not about the characters. About the world. Beautiful, really.

Greta Link’s singing voice, especially in the last 1.5 minutes of this song, is one of the most beautiful voices I’ve heard in the entire 51 years of my life.

This probably won’t be seen by a lot of people, but I deal with PTSD and mental illness, whenever I listen to this song I just cry, like I used to do, my heart has been broken so much, but this song makes me feel like crying it all away.
It takes a lot of courage to talk about it but it helps a lot! to have ptsd means that you went trough a lot but try to see it as a battle wound you are still here and still standing tall and stronger then you think yourself! Dont let that ptsd try to keep you in the past because you cant change it unfortunatly but try to keep moving foward because you are the author of your future 😊 i am 100 percent sure you can find your happiness again and i know for sure you are a lot stronger and a lot braver then you think of yourself 😊 i think you are really brave at least to post about it here! and please do remember that IT WILL!! become better soon 😊 try to take a view at life from a different perspective 😊 keep strong! we believe in you!
I have BPD, similar in a lot of ways to PTSD, different in others, but it was from childhood abuse since before I can even remember. I feel the same way, about everything you said
I struggle with several mental health troubles, and PTSD is one of them. My heart goes out to you, I'm going through many problems, and this song really helps me too, I discovered it at maybe my lowest point 5 years ago, and maybe 500 of those views are mine.

I dunno why but this song always hits me hard. The tone feels like I'm looking for something or someone, but it left a very long long time ago and now, no matter what I do, I can't get it back and for that I'm doomed.
I don't know why I have such a dramatic response to such a melody, but that's what I feel.
Angel's Egg is such a classic, I haven't seen it in a while but always felt like her distress over the broken egg was not that it was broken but that it was empty. Any way, great video dude!
WinnieTheGrizzly I haven’t seen the movie and while I like that description I think it represents something else. Given the video, she’s a girl at first (young and naïve) but a young man, not much older, crushes the egg she was protecting (her virginity). After that she goes into depression and despair but ultimately is rebirthed (from the water) as a mature woman. Yes the egg was empty but the experience is what took her from being a girl to being a woman.
It’s interesting because I’m a 26 year old virgin male. I’ve protected it for religious reasons. Perhaps it’s time to give up that naïve dream...

He stated that even he doesn't know what the story is about, but it has been said the film "seems informed by the existential desperation caused by the collapse of one's belief system".

This video made me go watch the movie. Man I actually cried, felt so many emotions and made me think about so many philosophical questions. This song fits soo well, especially with gretas beautiful vocals! Thank you 80s guy for making this and introducing some of us to a great movie :)
really? for me it was mostly boring - yes it had some really dark mood scenes, but the pacing was substantially absent and the plot was boring and predictible
these videos are introducing me to so many animated and anime films I would've gone my entire life without knowing about.
I don't anything about the movie, but I love the part when she's falling off the cliff and into the water. It's like she was an adult the whole time and we were shown a child, because that's how she sees, feels, lives, like she was stunted and as she makes the very adult decision to accept her end, then she catches a glimpse of the truth in the water's reflection. The dark water she plunges into reminds of inescapable pressure and consequence, alone, sinking, dying. It's like finally overcoming your problems just to have it all go to hell and blow up in your face. All you can do is sink down to the bottom.
After 121 rewatches I'm still hoping someone stops this bastard from destroying that precious thing.

OMG this is so atmospheric sounding with such a strong ''80s synthwave style. I've heard a lot of synthwave in recent years, but this is the first that actually gave me a bit of nostalgia. The video does actually help a lot too since it seems to fit the style of the music quite well.
