      That's because Casey isn't producing films in which privileged female actresses can get Oscars for. Meryl Streep gave a standing ovation for a pedophile because Roman is a man who could further her career and continue her oscar nominations. If Brie had been directed by Casey, she would have given him a standing ovation, too. These Hollywood "liberals" are the biggest hypocrites and liars you will ever see.

    I probably don't know enough of the details about Casey Affleck's alleged behaviour- but doesn't the fact that it's "alleged" kind of make these people's outrage a tad unjustified?
    Another thing, I don't see how his behaviour has any bearing on his ability to act well.. the award was for "Best Actor", not "Best Human Being". If he provided the best performance, he still deserves the award regardless.
    Also, I don't agree that Brie Larson acted "professionally", her body language said it all.
    To refuse to even shake his hand is just plain rude imo.
    Finally, Stephen Colbert is a pretty shit host if he makes his guests feel that uncomfortable within seconds of walking out on stage. If Casey's clothing was an issue, it should have been addressed privately before he came on. Embarrassing your guests for their choice of outfit in front of an audience is extremely unprofessional and I'm not surprised Casey was a bit prickly in his response.

      "What the fuck did that woman think?" - She thought she is not going to clap for someone who allegedly sexually assaulted several professional women in the industry. The question is not whether or not he deserved that oscar, the question is, who is cheering for someone who is disrespectful to women. I know we're never going to find out the details, but I'd really like to know what it is that this guy was supposed to do.
    If it was something absolutely god awful, it would probably come out one way or another. I read one report that during a shooting of a film, he made sexual comments towards his female co-stars and one time, while drunk, he crawled into the bed of one of them in a hotel room. he was dressed. when she woke up, he left. IDK, that doesn't sound that bad, people do crazy shit when drunk, it's not like he raped anyone.
    Just because he settled out of court doesn't mean it was something horrific, it was settled probably to escape a PR nightmare, that the tabloids would no doubt turn into.
    So really, what the fck does Brie Larson and others know we don't? Larson made a movie parasitizing on the Fritzl case about a guy holding a woman hostage for years and I did not read about any of the movies or her profits being used to actually help the victims of those crimes. The movie turned a horrific real-life scenario into a cheap, hallmark, sappy crap. Is that one hundred percent moral? Is that OK? What about Brie right now working for Disney/Marvel? I'm sure that Disney is run just by very nice, friendly philanthropists and social justice warriors. But she probably overlooks the dark parts of that, because her career is going fine, right?
    She can fck off. If the women agreed to be paid instead of seeking rightful justice that would bring attention to Affleck and his "heinous" crimes, they can fck off as well. They sold their right for justice for a few bucks, so it probably wasn't that bad to begin with.

    5:05 minutes wasted on this video.

  • @yannest1530
    @yannest1530 7 ปีที่แล้ว +208

    This video is so misleading.
    Yes. Brie Larson made a grand gesture at the Oscars and went on Vanity Fair to further broadcast it. But she also smiled and hugged him right on stage. This video cut away before that part. Also, Brie Larson went on national TV for an interview right after the VF article came out, when asked by Christian Slater about that night, she claimed total amnesia, left the hosts speechless. I guess that was very professional. Her self-righteous and self-serving act was disrespectful to all the Academy members who voted for Casey and the very organization that honored her. Oh and, guess what woke queen said about women's rights in her own Oscar acceptance speech? Nothing. Because God forbid she spare one second of her time at her own moment of glory.
    Chrissy Teigen was still asleep after Leo went on to announce best actress. But woke Twitter chose to ignore that, I guess that's because it's allergic to facts.
    I wouldn't even waste my breath on this silly thing if it didn't include Colbert. That interview was awkward but that's exactly the kind of humor the real "Colbert" loves. If you have watched the whole thing you'd know Stephen found Casey nerdy and interesting. I have watched Colbert for years and that interview wasn't even bad.
    Casey is an indie artist who before last year rarely went on late night talk shows, so this was actually his first Colbert interview, it took some getting used to. Whether you agree with Stephen's political views shouldn't change the fact that Late Show tweeted congrats to Casey on Oscar night. They were warned about the mindless, lawless mob that would come after them, but unlike some others, they didn't delete the tweet. That interview happened on Feb 23, 2016, Casey was promoting Triple Nine, not Manchester by the Sea, that was long before the internet outrage machine turned against him.
    Constance Wu bravely called a white guy playing a white role "white washing", boldly compared white harassment accusation with black rape criminal trial. She ventured if we don't treat settled out of civil court harassment issues as seriously as criminally prosecuted rape cases (that possibly led to the plaintiff's suicide), then we are all racists. Because rape culture means everything could and should be considered as rape. She first made it about race, then Trump, making Affleck an easy punch bag for radicalized lefties looking for an anger outlet.
    She also claimed her career is in jeopardy, right before WB threw her a leading role in a big studio movie (probably because of her woke points). She said "f*ck my career" then got into TIME 100 for precisely what she did to Casey. And guess who wrote her praise for that magazine? Hint, Brie Larson's dear friend who molested her little sister and wrote about it in a book as a funny anecdote.
    Most importantly, Wu and Larson never worked with Casey. Never were even in the same orbit with Casey. The plaintiffs, both of them, have made peace with him back then, 7 years ago. One even wrote an email saying "I hope one day we can be friends again." Those emails are included in Casey's motion to dismiss and were the only piece of real evidence presented to court among the three of them.
    Wu and Larson went after Casey so personally, not because they knew him but because Casey was an indie artist, not a real celebrity, he shares the Affleck name but not the fan base. He is an easy target, relatively unknown, they can paint him whatever way they wanted. Just think of another talented, well-known male artist who's been accused of something worse, someone who has a strong fan base or big studio franchises on his back, and check if Wu and Larson had anything to say about him.
    I'm now regretting wasting my life on this, at this point why do I even bother. This video is so far-fetched and absurd I'm starting to think it's made by a Casey fan, who's just trying to point out how ridiculous those fake woke people are. After all, in a video trying very hard to prove everybody hates Casey Affleck, it included this line "the WHOLE audience had just erupted in applause".
    Well, at least Brie Larson will applaud for this video. And we all know that's the most important thing.

      I love well thought out and coherent rants. I still don't that if he isn't convicted then how come a person go scot-free after defaming the person. Why hasn't Casey sued the person named Wu(if she didn't hide behind vague gestures like Brie Larson) on the basis of defamation? I don't know if he did the crimes or not but the tears on that stage looked real. If that's all acting with the Oscar in hand then the stage saw one of the best performances ever. Yes, we know how allegations never can be proved and criminals slip through the cracks but we also see how allegations ruin an innocent man's life. That reminds me of the Mads Mikkelsen movie named JAGTEN.

    • @yannest1530
      @yannest1530 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking the other day, if they make an American version of Jagten, Casey should lead. Then I laughed at myself, 'cos given the political climate, that would be a disaster. Thank you for your reply. And yes I would love very much for Casey to sue Wu, but I don't think he has enough ground. Wu only Retweeted that Mashable article comparing CA to NP, asking her fans to think and talk about it, buzzfeed picked it up and wrote a long piece based on that, and that made the whole thing about race. Wu never said she knew exactly what Casey did or in fact whether he did it or not, she only treated allegations as facts. Her point is if you are accused, you are certainly, 100%, without a doubt, guilty, but she's not wrong that he's accused. I don't know if you can sue someone for that.

      Yeah so in other words you can't decide what rules should dictate your opinion and since that's where all of your opinions come from rather than using comprehension to absorb the facts, you've decided you can't have an opinion. Well at least you're honest about your incapacities and at least you aren't jumping in with the Nasty Nancy gang whose rules of course dictate that where a docile looking man can be eaten alive by those hounds he will be. I think I liked Western equality better when the girls knew they were dumb.

    • @alextorres990

      URANIUM REAPER OR maybe she wasn't willing to put up with everyone knowing what happened to her. Maybe she was suffering already so she didn't think she could handle any publicity and have to deal with people like you questioning her motives. So she settled it outside of court.
      Honestly, I think it's suspicious of HIM to have it settled outside of court, if he was innocent why not take her to court? If I was a guy and a girl falsely accused me of sexual harassment I wouldn't give her a dime and I would force her to go through the court system and get her face plastered everywhere as a lier.
      Also, OF COURSE people who were raped or harassed would speak out about rape and harassment. They have a personal reason to so. I was raped by a family friend when I was 9 years old so now I speak out about it. I'm sure if I was never raped I might not feel the need to actively put myself out there to speak on it (although, I'd still think it was a disgusting thing to do).

    • @UraniumReaperActual
      @UraniumReaperActual 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      nope O'really I am not talking about real people that speak out... just the actors and rich people that either haven't experienced it or have had minimal experience with any hardship. I still think he is a scumbag... fuck, almost all of Hollywood is scum. I just don't like famous people using real issues to gain either fame or fortune. If he did something, maybe they should have tried to put him away because he will do it again and next time he won't have repercussions because it will be a person that isn't famous.
      I hope that clarifies my reasoning a bit more. I don't mean to underplay rape victims or abuse victims. I am very sympathetic to anyone that has suffered such a horrible crime, but not when they play it up and try to make bank on it... that sends red flags up for me.

      Honestly, I'm more inclined to believe someone who has enough evidence to pursue a case then someone who's just trying to "spread the word" because when you bring it into the system it becomes a matter of public record and that person is willing to put time and effort into trying to make their case. Also, their are female celebrities who've been sued for sexual harassment ex. Britney Spears.

And then they agreed to solve it out of court. Looks like organized money digging. If I had someone like Casey by the collor why would I let it get away. Casey on the other hand doesn't need negative image. So he needed it to go away as well. It did go away for 7 years, it just surfaced back. So I guess Casey's decision failed. Worse, he can't even talk about it to defend himself. He is legally bound.
