I have a lot of houseplants, and everybody comments on how lovely they are, but sometimes I just let them go, and soon have to do a big trim and give them lots of water. Good that you are checking the water. I think you are on a well, right? I also use a few drops of that liquid fertalizer in the water, when they get well hydrated, but don't overuse it, especially when they are stressed. Usually house plants are allowed to get too dry, so it's important to check daily. Those leaves aren't going to come back so trim them off and keep them moist. They also look like they are in small pots, so I'd transplant them into bigger pots. I'm no expert, just someone who loves house plants and have brought them back to life from the edge several times... lol ... So sweet to see you feeding the birds, and seeing the kids having fun outdoors. Hi to Alex and Hans. Your yard is really shaping up.
Hi Melissa! I’m watching this and it is actually Spring now. It’s April 30th and it was 23 degrees in Northern BC today! Our winter has finally decided to say “See ya later “ until next time 😊 I really enjoyed this Vlog. You are a great Mom❤ Your kids are so lucky to have you. I made my kids lunch as well. I loved every minute of it. I remember when you and Alex were dreaming about your new home. The kids were just babies it seemed too! How fast time flies and here we are; you all are in your forever home on your acreage and the kids are starting to graduate high school one by one…..I am so happy for you all Please keep in touch more often. Your voice is also treasured and enjoyed! Stay Happy, Healthy and Humble ☺️✌️❤️✨
I really enjoyed your vlog. Your jewelry choices are always so classy. It is evident that you know your way around a jewelry store. My son is 35 and I would be thrilled to fix his lunch!! Thank you for sharing your life with us. 😊😊
I'm going to homeschool my youngest through kindergarten this coming year, and he's autistic, so I need every bit of the stuff you provide to help kids with fine motor skills. He's in occupational And speech therapy, so he's getting all of that, but I need to make sure to continue it on through my teachings with him. He's already super smart, but I need to help him with smaller things he'll use throughout life without making him feel like he's been left behind somewhere before actual school starts with him.
Your banana muffins look delicious! Well, now that I have seen your beautiful backyard, I would love to visit it! You are so lucky! Thanks for sharing your home.😀
It was so exciting to see this posted. I was happy to see your kitchen up close, it is real with normal stuff not just a perfect show room. Your house is so beautiful. I have missing your vlogs and cooking. Hope to see you again soon.
How come I didn't know you had a TH-cam channel? We have been watching curiosity, Inc forever. Loved the kitchen cabinet tour, that is so up my alley. I am a retired preschool teacher (23 years) and it was the best!
Gas heat will dry out your plants. They need lots of humidity. Put a humidifier close by and move plants away from drafts from doors and vents. Misting plants will also help. Don't overwater in winter, can check with your finger and if soil is dry finger deep then water slightly. The drooping on your Peace Lily is normal when it needs a drink. Good to see a video from you today!!
Love your kitchen I could fit my kitchen twice into yours. I have a tea shelf in my pantry love my tea but I'm british and I love making tea and reading to relax or crocheting.
So happy to see this notification! I check every so often to see if I've somehow been unsubbed and missed you. Patience is not my strong suit! 😂 It's such a joy to watch your vlog. It doesn't feel forced or insincere or staged. It's just you being your true self - a wonderful, happy, interesting person. It's like seeing an old friend again. Hope we don't have to wait so long to see you again! Oh, almost forgot. Looks like your cold cleared up - glad you were feeling better.
My sister is a botanist, she said after dracaenas flower, they need significantly need more water, kinda like how having a baby would dehydrate a human, or even any species. She said let the soil dry out to nearly crunchy, and then flood it. Preferably when you're able to set it on the porch with some fair/mild sunlight. That way, it'll drink it all in and rejuvenate itself!
Great tip! Also, find a new location (bright) away from hvac vents - they don't like those or low humidity. That looks typical for ivy and the palm could be mineral balance,, but it looks over watered and needs more light (southern window) or take some pictures and go to a local grower and see what they think =) Usually leaves start to yellow from over watering. Once they yellow (about halfway on leaf), cut them off - it will never get green again. Good luck!
Hi, Melissa! This video is delightful. Thank you especially for your content regarding houseplants as I am having some challenges with some of mine as well. I love your new home and thoroughly enjoy all the Curiosity Inc posts. I have viewed every one.
Hi Melissa it’s my first time watching your channel but I do watch you with Alex, I can’t believe how nosey the viewers are wanting to see in all your cupboards maybe it stems from seeing Alex opening cupboards left right and centre, anyways I enjoyed your content it was a really good watch xx
Looks like you all have settled in and made "nest" over the winter - your home is charming and I love it =) Excellent choice of painting above the fireplace. Well done! Welcome to Spring. Yay!
I have obsessively been watching Curiosity Inc. for months now and am so glad I found the link to you there. I think you both are amazing. Such genuine good energy from both of you. Kind of rare in the You Tube world. Back to watching!
I get to do relatively few things for my 18 year old who is a senior and works hard so yes I’m going to happily make his lunch! It’s not like I’m still tying his shoes, but it sure does bother some people. Also you are so lucky to have those birds trust you so much!
I enjoyed the vlog Melissa a little glimpse into your life😊 The chickadees are charming . Good luck with your houseplants and make sure that you persevere with your art. Until next time. ❤🇬🇧
Hi Melissa, I so enjoyed your vlog. I appreciate how frustrating it is when our plants just aren't doing well. The only thing I can think of is that it might be too cold so close to your window. Since they were doing well before winter. Been there done that! Loved the tour of your kitchen cupboards. You have such a lovely home. I'm so happy for your family. Thank you for taking us with you throughout your day. Good luck with your plants!😊
Hello Melissa :) Here in france we find funny that canada/us teach uppercases first. we do start with lowercases, and cursive script. the children only start to write in sticks script when they enter middle school, only if they want (because no one watches their way to write if they don't do typos). the cursive script is mandatory to learn here, from 6 to 10 years old.
I teach 3 and 4 year olds too. I agree with teaching lower case first and your math activities are great. This year's group is so smart that I decided to introduce sight words. They are eating them up and ask for more. But my main focus is social skills and self-esteem. Thanks for showing us your classroom.
Loved the tour of your cabinets. LOL. Chewy was adorable shooting out through the backyard like a rocket! I love that clump of trees where you feed the birds. The new jewelry is pretty.
A chickadee on your hand will be a lovely subject to work on in your art journey. Lovely vlog Melissa, as always! Thankyou for letting us all enjoy your lovely home! XXX ❤
So many excellent youtube videos for learning watercolour out there. Keep at it and I bet you’ll surprise yourself. Everyone, even the most accomplished artists, has to start somewhere. Draw and paint every day even if it’s only for 15 minutes.
Feb. 21st my Mom was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. She left us 3 weeks later and I am struggling to know how to live without her. I love watching your videos as a lovely distraction to my day.
I am so sorry that you had to say goodbye to your mom. I know losing a parent was the hardest thing I’ve had to live through so far. Huge hugs from me to you. I’ll try and be a good distraction ❤️
@@MelArchbold the pain comes in waves. Overwhelming grief as I’ve never experienced. My dad had to say goodbye to his bride of 69 years. Saddest thing he ever said was to our Pastor. He said I’m losing my baby. He has kissed her picture every night since she left us
I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my Mom a year ago and it has slowly started be a little brighter. I lost my Dad 20 years ago and my brother 7 years ago but our Mom just hits different somehow. I am sending you so much peace and comfort and I am sincerely hoping that it gets brighter for you as well ❤
Dear Melissa, when putting up the clean dishes, you aren’t lazy, your efficient! I don’t follow the touch some thing once idea, I feel it causes more work. I put things in a box and after picking everything up, I take the box and put the things away. I really like your kitchen storage ideas! I’m going to start using trays in my drawers to control the towels and my silicone pan lids. Maybe you can get a part time job teaching a class to college students on how to prepare for their classes! What a wonderful ideas you have! It would have made even your first year of teaching so much easier and fun! I don’t know why this is over looked while in school. The paint color should be called “Disagreeable Grey “ Why ? Ahh, because all the colors mixed together are fighting to be seen! 😂 What I can see on the videos, it all looks beautiful, the color changes because of the sun keep it from being dull. Thank you for sharing your time and the activities you are doing. I’m an artist and I’m happy to hear you are taking painting classes! If I could only have one art book , it would be “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” by Betty Edwards!! She is brilliant!! You can learn to draw in just a short amount of time. It’s so much fun and works so quickly, it might even be an amazing activity for the whole family to do together. Take care stay safe, dry, warm and get over that cold soon! Love, Fran

Happy Birthday, Melissa! I know it's not until the end of the month (same day as my birthday!), but I wasn't sure when I would "see" you next. Hope you have a great month and a special birthday.
Ya, Melissa, I layer with white underneath, partly because I don't look all that good in white, but also because I'm a klutz, and white gets cruddy so easily. EEK! Down here in CO, Target has a kit salad called "Nashville Hot" which is really tasty. I prefer using cabbage in my salad, so I keep it around. In the next 12mo we'll get started on a kitchen remodel in this 1960's ranch. We are currently in the middle of a basement remodel. Hubby wanted the original rec room, and bar, to become a home theatre and concession stand. We've acted as our own general contractor for the first time, so there's been a learning curve for us. Don't know if we'll do that again for the kitchen, but as pricy as they can be, we may. Thanks, Melissa!
Hey girl, it's been awhile since you've done a vlog, nice to hear from you. I'm in michigan, hope tonight is the last cold one, the forecast looks better, but they don't forecast ten day's out so good. G-d bless you, the family, and the furry critters.
Inconsistent watering if the soil dries out too much the tips turn brown or there isn't enough water supply to the leaves, or it could be the soil needs to be different maybe it is not holding the water ~ or the soil is to be compacted that will cause root damage and end up with dried leaves.
Was just watching curiosity Inc. most recent video (5/25/23) when Alex mentioned you had a channel Melissa! It's about time. 😅 This way I learn more about you. Your home is gorgeous. A lot to clean, but you don't seem to mind. Until next time, Aloha! P.S. Tell your hubby to add your channel to his channel list. Unless he has a reason for nor listing it.¿?
Thanks for the upload, Melissa 😊. It's so nice seeing you again and, as usual, love you're talking about your teaching and watching what you fix for meals. Yum!
The muffin additions sound wonderful, I'll have to try it 👍 I'm a recipe tweaker too, our family trait is it may not look great but it will always taste good & it generally won't be the same twice as it's using up this or that or had something in it we fancied at the time, it's the best way 😁
I kearned watercolor. Not the pencil one. I always wondered how anyone could paint but once i learned a few tips it looked great. My first was lavender iris and i love it. I cannot do buildings. Flower seems to be my thing.
This may have already been mentioned but the corner cupboard doesn't seem to rotate and, therefore, isn't a Lazy Susan. A Lazy Susan rotates so you can easily reach everything.
I hope you enjoy the art lessons. You have a great attitude about it. I feel the same about practicing my guitar. My progress might be slower than other people's, but it doesn't matter. 🙂
Laura Ottawa please hang in there. Guitar is not the easiest instrument to play but the one trick I learned was to be agressive on your practicing. Don't skip a day while learning. Even 15 minutes helps so much.

Hey girl, it's been awhile since you've done a vlog, nice to hear from you. I'm in michigan, hope tonight is the last cold one, the forecast looks better, but they don't forecast ten day's out so good. G-d bless you, the family, and the furry critters.
Don't be hard on your wonderful self!
This way I learn more about you.
Your home is gorgeous.
A lot to clean, but you don't seem to mind.
Until next time, Aloha!
P.S. Tell your hubby to add your channel to his channel list.
Unless he has a reason for nor listing it.¿?
Thanks for giving us a nice long video to watch! 🤗
Thanks for the upload, Melissa 😊. It's so nice seeing you again and, as usual, love you're talking about your teaching and watching what you fix for meals. Yum!
The muffin additions sound wonderful, I'll have to try it 👍
I'm a recipe tweaker too, our family trait is it may not look great but it will always taste good & it generally won't be the same twice as it's using up this or that or had something in it we fancied at the time, it's the best way 😁
I kearned watercolor.
That’s true. My mom has one that rotates.
