    Fun fact: this music and the rest of the Dorothy's Vision music was done by the composer for Ori and the Blind Forest

    a perfect study music. it's the sound of, innovation, pioneering. the sound of when you tethering into a realm of physics where everything can go catastrophic, but it still fall in line and controllable

    I don't understand how melding everyone's consciousness into a singular giant post-modernism sculpture will save people or bring about a new age, but I suppose the genius at Rhine Labs is beyond my comprehension.

      at least they are safe from the cruel world. many movie has this kind of theme. sweet dream or instead a cruel reality , no answer for it

    • @hansdersen4150
      @hansdersen4150 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I would say if they can work safely in the lab with that metallic thingy, then you can say you saved them from the cruel work conditions of the pioneers.

    • @AmnesiacDoe
      @AmnesiacDoe ปีที่แล้ว

      People who buy into neural interfaces believe all kinds of wild stuff about how it'll equalize us in the wired or whatever, but I think Dorothy specifically was trying to end the death and suffering inherent in pioneer work by allowing anyone to perform the work safely and remotely through the link. The big metal angel is a misappropriation of this technology to create some kind of fucked up caster hivemind god, as brought up earlier in the mad science lecture on old leithanian spell-batteries (collections of prisoners used as living arts units).
      As Silence points out immediately and very angrily, Dorothy's ideal isn't much of a long term strategy for making sure the tech is used for exactly what you intended, not even if you're resolved to die yourself.

    • @sneakretster
      @sneakretster ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Considering the implications of what a technology like that can do? it makes sense to me. The little drones themselves could break down and reform matter in the blink of an eye and are capable of killing threats. The liquid being used in the battle armor gives the advantage of "soldiers" with complete immunity to pain and allowed them to operate as if a person was operating it directly even at a huge distance, and these suits are only operable with a lot of drawbacks to the person piloting it.
      The giant mass itself could quite literally topple entire countries in an instant and the only reason it was stopped from doing so is because Dorothy herself killed the project before it became used for any specifically awful deeds.
      And the infected who were being used as the brain of the substance were all experiencing an endless peace which to some infected would be an easy choice since life is so terrible, and that would lead to SO many infected willingly becoming originium conduits to avoid the harsh life imposed on them.

    • @AmnesiacDoe
      @AmnesiacDoe ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sneakretster I don't see how I ever expressed any doubts that the silver bodies could achieve just this. Neither I nor Silence objected on these grounds, and I'm not one to dismiss an attempt to alleviate mankind of suffering just because I think tech is evil or something. The devil is very much in the details on this one. What happens to her beloved family now? The test subjects, who had nothing left before she pressured them into donating their brains to a Cause? It's an unfortunate reality, but even if you use kindness, cutting people who need what you're offering off from their peers so you can use them like this is effectively self interested grooming, and she has zero plans for their remaining existence not being as Ferdinand's lab rats/a horrifying weapons tech prototype.
      Dorothy is a good person, and her concept is the product of incredible intelligence, but it only goes anywhere in a world where Rhine Lab can be trusted, and that sort of makes her the dumbest person in the room. I like that sort of tragedy though, this event was very well done.
