If you want to be able to saw through the top edge, screw a 2x4 to the top of one of the sides with it overextending the edge by an inch. Then when that 2x4 gets cut up and needs replacement, just remove it and add a new one, keeping the sawhorse base.
Quick tip. Thread one piece of rope thru one side and back thru. Making one big “U” with knots on same side. It more or less equalizes. Folds flatter too. 💪🏽🤙🏽
I ordered my jackass kit about a week ago. I'm just a sys admin nerd, but (mostly your) youtube videos inspired me to try and build my own shed and greenhouse. I have a bad case of the 'how hard can it be' gene. All permitted to cover myself. I can't wait to get started.
You are just 5 more minutes of googling away from finding a batch/bash script on StackOverflow, that automates stowing away the sawhorses after you're done.
The first song was Patience by G'n'R but how can I be patient waiting for the next Awesome Framers video I am on the edge of my seat. With Heart, Aerosmith and Starship: Nothin's gonna stop us now (whoa no)
I love the look of the X factor boards. I probably buy the cheaper plywood and paint them yellow 😂😂. I’m just making these for diy projects at home. Thanks Tim! Sing on brother!
@@TheCelestialCo it’s pricey $159.00, but I’m going to use it instead of canned air for blowing out electronics. All the nozzles make it handy for other applications too. I recommend it.
Dude I love your channel.your sense of humour is off the scale.could you draw out the dimensions of this on a piece of paper and put it on a video .would save me a ton of hassle and dollar
My favourite tool is my iPhone with the Construction Master App (even though the colour of the answer is probably not accurate because it is an iPhone - I bet it is really dark grey instead of true black)
ive always just used the pressure treated stickers that come with your load of lumber and for the top just scrap 2x4 they last for years and by the time you need a new one 10 more sets have been built on the job already by other people
Another benefit of setting the saw down on its side is to avoid marring up the bottom of the shoe, which can then scratch up the surface of finish materials in the future.
I'm surprised about the metal hinge at the top. Am i misunderstanding? I can understand avoiding cutting the saw horse, but seems inevitable, if not by me then by someone less experienced.
Try using one longer rope with knots on each end the appropriate length. You won’t have to adjust each side, and when it’s not in use you could use the extra as an over the shoulder strap
I was in Church & my girlfriend looked at me and said “ please stop whatever you’re singing” ? I got rid of her ! You sing brother America the land of the free!
I was actually going to show that is this video, that's why I had out the Metabo router at the beginning. I have a bit that will work, but its actually more time consuming that cutting.
@@AwesomeFramers fair enough, check him out, he makes some for his work bench. The Jackass Sawhorses are just tougher and more appropriate for framers. I learn something every time I watched Tim, but man the best thing was learning about these sawhorses. I own a lumber yard and every scrap piece of 3/4 OSB gets snatched up for more.

If Advantech always discards the first and last sheet, maybe they should buy the template and print it on every top sheet in a stack.
That's not a bad idea...

Scrap the hinges off of overhead doors that have been replaced, they work great for this.
Awesome idea usually at a site around here 2 are made out of 2x10 and left with the house. Great time saver

I’m liking that little blower! Might be handy in the Woodshop.
Parr Lumber had an event today and I ended up picking it up.
How are you liking it? Everything you thought?

What is the notches for in the ends ?

Thanks bro. The plans are $6 and frankly none of us should work for free. Buy them from Ed here jackasssawhorse.com/product/detailed-specs/
been in the trades a long time and ive never seen such a small blower. thats pretty cool.

I too have a secret recipe for saw horses. It's called 2-logs-on-dirt or 2lod. Which is also the name of my 2005 free jazz band.

Nice when you get Advantech cheap. I build them out of 2x6 and 5/4 and still have the ones I built in my apprenticeship 30 yrs ago.
Sweet!! G&R!!

Just wondering about cutting the top .Nice
Got meself a couple of Jackass starting in the LAB soon.

What’s the notch on the side for?
Hang your saw and tools on .
Hang the saw on the left or right or right or left 😉
Did those Iso-tunes come with their own bucket, so when using them, you can carry a tune. If not, maybe you can add your own.

What boots are you wearing?
How come the electricians never have any awesome sawhorses? They are the best and smartest and most god-like!!
Its so true! Just ask them! 🤣🤣🤣

Очень хорошие козлы👍я пользуюсь Makita drs 780 (LXT 18*2) l'm carpenter too. Very good saws
Like it but maybe nylon straps instead of rope.
하중 그리고 시간을 생각하면 기성품이 좋을수도 있다.😊
tie a figure eight knot so you can adjust the length more easily.
lol I was gonna knock your block for not palm routine the edges Than you did! =p
Post more vids!
I make my saw horses out of three studs. Keep it simple.
Have you ever tried just keeping a pattern one around, then just using a flush trim bit in a router to make endless repeatable horses?
It's almost impossible to find a good bit for flush trim panel routing, that's why.
I was actually going to show that is this video, that's why I had out the Metabo router at the beginning. I have a bit that will work, but its actually more time consuming that cutting.
Breedlove spotted during ad read!
How are these better than Ron Paulks saw horses? How are they different? They look similar, but don't have the board holding capabilities.
I don't know anything about his saw horses. These are super strong, fold up and last a long time. Perfect for framers.

I think you’re the only person that can sing better than me!!!
Toenail on top? Show EVERYTHING!
Why not tie the knot, loop through the other side and back through the first and tie the second knot?
Not a professional singer?!?! Are you kidding? Listen to them PIPES!!!
right? Just think if I'd had training
I was taught to shut the saw off just before you finished the cut.
Me too, try and time the wind down to stop as it finishes the cut.
Sheas a tear
About you harmonising ability, dont give up your day job! The smoke alarm is not in what I would call a human voice, but an american voice!

Am I the only one that can't get the Isotunes to stay in my ears?!
withe foam tips? Make sure you follow their instructions, I pull my ear open and they fit right in. You can also try the different tip sizes.
@AwesomeFramers thank you Sir!
Got a fist full of thumbs..
Yes!
Don’t quit your day job, you won’t make it as a singer. LOL.
Sadly, I know. Be a pretty hilarious audition though.

swang is a long running joke, that's why I say it
This design is not for me and singing is weird and sucky.
First you play 80s instead of the banda required for construction work, then you promote fire alarms? This channel is a sea of ethnic hatred!
This guy thinks he's funny...please talk less and just build
I don't think I'm funny, I KNOW I'm having fun 🤣🤣🤣
Was like watching a dumpster fire.
Without the stench.
Wanted to see the finished product.
Ears still ringing from that noise you where making. Yikes
Do you think ⅝" Zip would be thick enough for strong sawhorses?
yep, but just don't put as much on them as Ed did in his video.
