Special thanks to Kingbore for suggesting a video about this guy. For whatever reason, the label for the event being "The ball-throwing giant gives up on throwing balls" was extremely funny to me, but you do have to feel a little bad for the guy when you smash all the firebombs and he just kind of stares at you from the top of the tower.
Well as fun as i had watching a dark souls remastered video after this long...Did you notice that this giant has 9 exploding fire balls. So this makes me wonder if the other giant also has 9 throwing boulders. I also think it would have been great if we could just stay inside of one of the fireballs and the giant would just throw us over the wall onto Lordran. P.S. : Is there a lore for how the giant got on top of sens fortress because the doors are too small for a giant to fit through. Yes, EXCEPT he climbed on through the outer wall.
It's hilarious, both in the double-entendre and in how deadpan and literally it describes the scenario. I feel as though it's essential to have a pretty good sense of humor to be able to sit and program stuff like this all the time. I can only imagine the other wonderful and unhinged names buried inside the code of other modern games.
I can relate to that giant. We all know the feeling of emptiness you get after your boss gets thrown off a roof because of a merger gone wrong, and you realise your paycheck is going to be two weeks late.
If your boss getting tossed off a roof delays your pay check, there's bigger issues with the company. Payroll is usually an entirely different department! Now if the head of *Payroll* was tossed off a roof, that might cause delays lol.
i used to work at a pizzaria and man the gutpunch i felt reading this comment. no fictional creature should have to experience the realization that we’re all out of pesto until Monday 😭
MAN, rolling into those bombs was always the most satisfying part of every dark souls 1 run. Though after my like 3k hours into DkS1, I’ve never known you could force away the bombs LOL. Looking forward to that on the next run
3:01 It'd be hilarious if the game was programmed to give you a few souls like... 10 seconds after you deflect that firebomb into some crowd of hollows in the undead burg.
I reckon the reason the stops throwing bombs into the boss arena if you kill the Iron Golem is because players need to interact with that ring thingy that the Golem leaves behind in order to progress, which might get annoying if you keep getting bombed.
Ok but why does the force bomb curve like a boomerang!? "My word, but it is a gorgeous day in Lordran is it not? I will make my ascent, in due time, but for now I would like to take a moment to soak in this glorious ambience. We warriors are truly blessed to have-"
Sen's Fortress was one of the easier areas on my subsequent playthroughs; when you know where all the traps are and how they work it becomes just an area with low enemy density and an easy boss. Now, Oolacile, on the other hand...
Bro that kings field ost brings so many memories!! i played it on the ps2 when i was little and totally forgot about it :D thank you for putting its name in the description i wouldn't remember it otherwise
I think I always sniped the ball-throwing giant long before I got to the Iron Golem's arena, so I never even considered that he could be an extra challenging element to that fight. I love learning details like these!
one nice little detail i like about the sens fortress mimic is its in the middle of the room and at an odd angle, which no other chest is, combined with being a trap filled area it actually primes the player ot be suspicious of the chest even if your completely blind and dont know about mimics
This game, man. I play through Dark Souls once every 4-6 months, beat it at least 30+ times, yet I can freely admit I never stopped the bomb throwing giant by destroying the bombs. I thought I knew everything there was to know about the game, but there are things I’ve yet to learn, obviously.
Chosen Undead: Uses Force to launch giant firebomb away Patches: "There's a right lovely bit of treasure down there.....and....do you hear that whistling noise?"
Wow, the number of times I've replayed this game since it came out all those years ago and I had no idea the giant threw bombs at you during the boss fight if he was still alive. I always took him out before I fought the golem. Still things to learn about this game after all these years.
I can't believe it, MORE stuff I didn't know after thousands of hours dedicated to this game (and series as a whole), guess I need no further proof that you are actually a witch because this is magic
If there’s a way to keep these giants alive I’m always gonna take it, since these guys definitely deserve some love after how they’ve been treated by the kingdom.🐱
Zullie I could really use your help, how do you get such slow panning shots in Dark Souls Remastered? I remap my mouse and keyboard to work as a controller for the Debug Menu, and i can't find a way to slwo down the free-cam any more than the slow/fast/medium speed it already has. I figured if I go buy an official controller I would be able to slow down the speed using the different pressure on the analog sticks, I tried making posts on the Dark Souls subreddit but never got any answers. I tried using cheat engine to find the value for the camera speed but cheat engine keeps crashing on the second scan. If you use a controller for the pans, do you physically hold the analog sticks to keep the same speed? or is there a way I can do this digitally? I don't want to spend a lot on a controller for it to have the same effect, you and Vaati are the only channels I've seen with slow panning shots
I use a controller and I mostly do just have to hold the sticks very lightly and very steady. It is possible to use CheatEngine to set values for things like, how much the game believes the stick is being pressed, but it's a lot more annoying to set up in Dark Souls Remastered than in some of the later games, so I don't often do it.
@@ZullietheWitch Thank you for answering! Awesome! I'm planning on requiring it for all three games eventually. I've been trying to find an aswer for this for over a month :P
Amazing video like always. On a side note I want to say I believe the DLC takes place above the Shaded castle in ER, as it has all the areas cover. the lave the poison, the open sea, just feels right.

I don't feel bad. Man deserves a break!
That's from the official code!? I legit thought that was a comment added by the dataminers for comedic effect
@@WayneByNumbers The actual event label is in Japanese, so it's translated, but that's essentially just what it says.

Damn. it's mudhut hours out here.
how many people you need to toss off to receive your pay check normally in your job?
I forgot what a boss is outside of games for a second there...
I'm suddenly reminded of the opening chapter of "Monster Hunter International".
The bomb flying away in the end lmao
Reminds me of using Resonance Reflector against General Tor in Iji
So, is there already a "no u" video, where the bomb is reflected back at the giant, possibly exploding his stock?
The rest of the planets after I ate Jupiter:
With the balls respawning, I imagine him being like "Crap, now I have to wait for the next shipment tomorrow."
i used to work at a pizzaria and man the gutpunch i felt reading this comment. no fictional creature should have to experience the realization that we’re all out of pesto until Monday 😭
Somehow the most relatable enemy in the series. Me too, mr giant. Me too.
I don't know, the Gelmir Knights are pretty relatable: "Welp, the boss has officially lost it. Let's leave."
MAN, rolling into those bombs was always the most satisfying part of every dark souls 1 run. Though after my like 3k hours into DkS1, I’ve never known you could force away the bombs LOL. Looking forward to that on the next run
Honourable mention to that one random hollow who's just chilling on the ground on the road down to New Londo, dude just does not give a fuck
He looks so defeated when he runs out of bombs...
*You broke his balls*
One thing I love about your videos is how you throw a complete curveball at us at the end. That projectile interaction was hilarious.

Oh, I can identify with that. Giving up, I mean.
don't give up, skeleton!
Name checks out.
What, you don't live ontop of a roof and throw giant firebombs down at people trying to invade your castle?

Didn't know there were so many unemployed people here (me too)

*Mr. Kitty after dark starts playing*
The man has exactly one thing in his job description, and he's not paid to keep the bombs in supply or find other tasks. Absolute Chad.
Look, if they wanted him to do that, they should have built a structure he could actually move around in. You get what you pay for.
That giant had ample opportunity to watch Siegmeyer down in the fortress. When it comes to giving up he learnt from the very best.
Heh.
Oh, hell nah, that was out of pocket even for you, Mr. Lautrec
I see the cycle of fire and dark has made you bitter
Years and years and you still keep the bit going. Respect.
You're still in activity? How many humanities do you have?!
Lautrec, professional hater

I'll never forget when my friend came to sens fortress for the first time. He said, "man this is an OLD video game level."
he's right ig, pretty old game
Unemployment. A fate worst than Hallowing.
“I’m about to end this man’s whole career”- the chosen undead rolling up on Sen’s fortress
I reckon the reason the stops throwing bombs into the boss arena if you kill the Iron Golem is because players need to interact with that ring thingy that the Golem leaves behind in order to progress, which might get annoying if you keep getting bombed.
That's most probably it, yeah. But it's also just a common mechanic to disable/despawn any mobs after a boss is killed
Y'know, destroying some poor giants dream of hurling balls at people was probably the last thing I expected from Dark Souls.
I had no idea about the Force thing, I'll have to try that sometime
I vaguely remember watching a video of some Japanese players making a sport out of deflecting the firebombs back in the day of pre-PTDE Dark Souls.
Ok but why does the force bomb curve like a boomerang!?

Even to this day, Sen's Fun-House is still a living nightmare! No matter if you have co-op or just yourself, it can be a total pain to go through 🙁
