I wonder what it must feel like to McCoy now backing Trane's son? I was listing to Coltrane Live at Birdland just before this with the same tune. McCoy hasn't missed a beat since 1964 when that recording was released. He sounds just as incredible. And how much I miss Michael! His playing here is in true Coltrane form. What a wonderful concert!!
This is "The Promise" this was the 3rd track on "Live At Birdland" 1963, my favorite track on the live album! Obviously this is nothing even close to the original live album version when the 4 musicians back then had everything artistically pieced together.

Michael plays on other MKVI tenor (not 86xxx) and has little different sound...
I have a '56, my buddy has a '56. I've played his. Another buddy has a '60. They all sound slightly different. I like a clean, bright sound so I blow a '64 s/s Berg Larsen (made in London) I think MkVIs sound a bit dull.

ラビは自信持たなきゃね。もっと練習して。ブレッカーの音の出し方、つぶ立ち、一音一音しっかり出てる。練習の差がハッキリ出ている。とはいえブレッカーは調子が悪かったのだろうな。フラジオがうまく出ていなかった。
