It is important to know how to do this when on safari or mudding. Be able to fix a flat tire your self. Some people may like the brand slime. Getting a flat tire is not most peoples idea of fun they don’t want to break down, generally they want to keep driving I would also recommend carrying a tire repair kit with you and maybe I can or two of fix a flat

The rim has to be facing up, that way the front won’t be damaged and it will go up straight. That’s what the manual indicates. Thank you for the video
that definitely makes a lot of sense. Lower CG would have ensured the tire goes straight up.
Great Vid! But I'd recommend to hook up the spare wheel with the other side, the outer side upwards. This way it's a bit easier to fiddel the hook through the rim. At least this is my experience with my 2001 HDJ 100 (the Diesel-version of the UZJ or LX 470).

I have 2000 landcruiser that doesn't have the locking key. Just insert the hook end onto the cranking wand and insert into the cone. It does not actually hook on to anything. The head of the hook slots into the cone. If that doesn't work then you need to use the star key that came with the jack tool kit.
Should wheel be facing opposite side when in place (with good side upper facing)

I bought a used 2000 Lexus LX 470 a couple years ago never had a flat. Last week on a trip I had a flat and unfortunately I didn't have that peice.

Does it matter if the valve stem is facing up towards the car? Thats the way I installed it

call toyota and lexus dealers and ask if they have master key sets, if they have one they can get the lock out
Use hook
I have a 97 land cruiser and I don't have that piece that connects to the shaft that turns the spare wheel down. Got a used tool bag for this car for $70.00 and that piece is missing.

Great,,but I will recommend to keep the spare tire on your back seat or under the pillow.
Someone needs to come up with a better way todo this imagine doing all that in a storm or low visibility come on god forbid if a woman has to do this .... y cant the chain part be made electric so it comes down and up with a push of a button
