I love the 67. I have one that I'll be starting the restoration soon. But our Australian 67 is slightly different. Thanks for sharing man ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
Not to be too picky Mike, but the split window SO- 42s (Late 1964 to 1967) did not have a sink. The ice boxes for the non-walk-through and the walk-through just had a water pump and a flat top. When the 1968 SO -42 came along the ice box now had a small stainless sink. That went forward through the rest of Westfalia production. By the way I have a non-walk-through icebox I would trade somebody for an equal walk-through box. Message me if you have one please.
awsome. I was just given a 1990 brazilian made kombi, and I was considering converting it to a camper. It is in pretty good mechanical shape, but I don't think it is worth trying to do a piece by piece orginal restoration. But, a cool camper would be perfect.
Okay , being a newbie at this, I am not familiar with all the model numbers. My 69 bay window came off the line as a camper. It was bare to the hull when I got it and have no idea of a floor plan. So where do I find one? Your bus is really beautiful. What color is it? Anyway, I enjoy your videos and the comments. Most of the time they are full of good tips. 👍
Hey Mike ! a month ago with 0 wind out on a county road Rambus full pegged went 92 mph ? Every thing I done to the motor did not give me more hp just rpm. D port heads with matching sling shot manifolds , W100 cam , 32/36 progressive carb , j pipes and quite muff , 32 degree timing , 1600 dp ........
That’s odd that your 67 did not come with a gas gauge. I have that identical bus 19 67 tin top Westfallia SO-42 and it has a gas gauge. Maybe they were dealer installed??
Mike, did you just use wolfsburg west fuel sender (float on a thin wire) for the sender ? I had replaced mine, parked it, and it stopped working. Just wonder if there something better to use ? like a float from a 70's beetle or vanagon ? IDK. - I don't have time to keep fixing stuff that I already fixed !
Mike, your bus is awesome. It's even better when seen in person. 👍

Good job explaining the differences. I have a late 63 and it has the larger rear window..

I was talking about my 61 so23 at that point. in comparison. Yea all 67 had a gas gauge and are 12v. really nice 12v wipers too.
