Nice job Dr. Looks perfect. I spent a summer in the same pop top model it was amazing. I am pretty sure it had an attachment tent to pull up aside. Not sure if it was stock or not.

My early Bay is in rougher shape than this one is by quite some way but is good to get some numbers on costs so I know what to look forward to! This looks very much like my '72 Westy. VW people love low cost abbreviated content, the lower the price the more excited they get. This outcome in not realistic to the average person, the time component is missing - it could take a year to do this much work in your off hours if you have a job - or just take a year off work and see how much it costs you 😂 I worked for a shop where people brought restored buses like this in for service and the average shop bill was another $12,000 just to fix a few more things - because most people are not mechanics and have to pay a shop to do their repairs - shop labor is no longer cheap because cost of living is so high everywhere. This restoration was far from a complete resto (didn’t even split the case), many of the critical maintenance items were repaired but I guarantee many more problems will surface as it is driven, if you can fix those items yourself then great. What does a complete restoration cost to make one PERFECT and how long does it take???? My good friend did it with a 71 - took 10 years in his spare time and cost him $100,000 plus his time, want to see what that bus looks like??? Great video. Can you tell me how to match paint on my 76 Westy. German Bus. It's a yellow/orange and I can't figure out how to get a paint match. I thought I had it but it turned out to be way too yellow. IS there a way to get the actual paint code or match?. Thanks.

Exactly! I have about 30g in my 71 Westy project with many new body panels and a custom cabinet set from UK and after 6 years I’m almost ready for primer. All labor done by myself including Subaru engine and 5 speed transmission. Now days with the price increase you can add 50% to everything! This person definitely spent very little and did a great job!👍

Yes, very misleading. Most late 60s buses are rust buckets too. I’ve heard 80 -100 k for proper complete restoration with no bondo
