    Zajebista robota chłopaki. Jaki koszt przebudowy? Ja sie zabrałem za mój ale dopiero jestem w fazie sciągania głowicy i zastanawiam sie nad listą zakupów. Podali byście mi namiary na dobry warsztat gdzie mógłbym glowice wysłac do renowacji?

    I was surprised to see you guys skimming the head to get an extra 0,5 compression, I am about to rebuild my 2zz and thinking i might do the same, did you have any problems with the timing chain going loose or was it okay?

    • @biatchkillar
      @biatchkillar  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problems with tensioner, just check with 2zz manual if the chain is in spec

    Very nice video! I think you shouldn't knife the crank and lighten the stock rods, or mess with the dremel on a Yamaha head. But it's ok, if it's what you wanted. How is this holding up?

    • @biatchkillar
      @biatchkillar  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      so far so good :) I think I made about 15 000km since build, most of it in racing confitions, no major issues. Engine revs freely and eats no oil in normal conditions, very little in spirited driving

    Beautiful low cost work, it revs great with all that blueprinting!
    You need a dyno tuning session... have you dyno it, how many hp?
    Do you also remember how many mm you over sized the throttle plate?

    • @biatchkillar
      @biatchkillar  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +dbouloubasis hi, no havent dynoed it yet, I prefer spend the money on racing events :) but I hope fore 210-215 hp at crank. The throttle body wasnt oversized where the plate itself is, we overbored the intake and the other side for smoother air path, because stock tb isnt great

    good job I think to do the same and I would like to know if the electrical network is the same as that of the 1zz?
    I know that the ecu changes, but I'm not sure about the wiring of the network, or must I also recover that of the 2zz with his ecu?

    • @biatchkillar
      @biatchkillar  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need 1zz electric loom and add some wires specificc for vvl system

    • @biatchkillar
      @biatchkillar  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +kCrAcKhEaD Jam I put stock 1zz clutch, they fit interchangeably. I figured out that I dont need stronger clutch if the tourque is not that much bigger. So far the clutch holds up pretty good

    Great video and I am trying to do same for my MR2/S.
    In process of stripping engine and ran into snag. The rocker shaft bolts are removed, but cannot remove rocker shafts...grr.
    Which way do they come out? Toward or away from cam drive? Think my bolts sheared in rocker shafts and have high resistance moving to or from cam drive.
    Please advise if you have any solutions.
    cheers,
    Mr. P

    • @biatchkillar
      @biatchkillar  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe it is away from cam drive, you need to remove lift control assy, please always refer to 2zz engine manual,
      www.yumpu.com/en/document/view/8262732/toyota-corolla-engine-manual-2zz-ge-rm929e-index-of

    • @LSmiata
      @LSmiata 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello biatchkillar,
      Thank you for the response. Was not able to open/print service manual, but have a similar manual (with many missing pages) for a 2001 Celica GTS.
      In manual it states to remove the rocker retraining bolts and simply remove rocker shafts.
      Mine are "tight" in engine and have now even damaged the intake rocker shaft. It is my fault on damage, but expected the shafts to move freely. I pounded enough away from the cam side that the retaining bolt was no longer an issue, but still have HIGH resistance in moving the rocker shaft.
      Thank you again and let me know if you, or anyone, has an idea on how to solve.
      At this point I am waiting on the 12pt, triple square 10mm socket, so that I can pull the head from engine and will take to Toyota or machine shop if I can not get better info.
      Mr. P

    my standard engine in my mr2 is knocking like hell so im selling mine as spares or repairs if i was gonna keep it id deffo put this engine in mine but i got too tempted by a bmw 3 series cabriolet that went for a bargain price so i bought that and my mr2 is on ebay

  • @hiblendmedia
    @hiblendmedia 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are you using a matrix ECU? My 2zz doesn't pull this hard after I rebuilt it, then again the mr2 is lighter than a 9th gen corolla. Time to port match perhaps.

    Was selecting your rod bearing easy going with ACL?

    • @biatchkillar
      @biatchkillar  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      acl makes only one dimension rod bearings, so it was only fit and check clearance. So far engine runs great for 8000km and over 1 year, I did 7-8 racing events.

      Hi I would like to do a 2ZZ swap on my MR2 as well, I already have the engine and 6 speeds gearbox, but in Switzerland is hard to find someone to do that since is not exactly legal to do so, will be a nightmare for the MOT, my plan is to use as many original 1ZZ parts as possible including the original airbox, you think is possible? And hopefully no one in the MOT will notice ;) Perhaps I can bring the engine and gearbox over for the preparation, I’m anyway in Poland almost every month, any way to contact you directly?
      Cheers Kenji

    Hi mate, Can you tell me how long would it take to built 2z-ge engine for celica 7 gen and the cost of it more or less?

    • @LSmiata
      @LSmiata 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Mr. leszekNH,
      If I had to guess, you are from down under. Your access to JDM is much better than I would expect as a sept, but this is what I know.
      2zz-ge: JDM with est less than 60k miles
      Engine only ~1000-1400 USD
      Engine/Trans "drop-out" with 6spd trans, ECU, and wiring 2000-2500USD.
      I purchased a local USA, Michigan engine/trans drop-out for much less, but have BIG problems stripping engine due to corrosion. To date, 4 sheared bolts and one is so corroded (galvanic) that I have sent the transmission to a machine shop to remove/repair.
      But...lots of fun and 2zz's are GREAT....until you talk your buddy about a Honda K-series.
      cheers mate,
      Mr. P

    The 1zzfe is a shit motor. So is the transmission.

    • @LSmiata
      @LSmiata 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Jimmy,
      Many motors "shit". And in MR2/S 1zz more vulnerable due to duel pre-cats on manifold that degrade and can SERIOUSLY damage engine.
      In fairness, 1zz in other applications and newer MR2/S, they are quite reliable....
      ...but this post is based on replaceing 1zz with 2zz in MR2/S because we want a little more power.
      2zz also has issues, but it is a fun high-reving beast at only 1.8l...and I like my Yamaha/Toyota's.
      Happy Motoring,
      Mr. P
