Have you considered interference from an external source for your receiver issues? (I don't know the EM environment you are in, or how well Battle Bots controls it, so just speculating...) I worked as a radar tech for many years & intermittents are a real pain to find. Like your channel, Thanks for posting. Good luck vs. Gruff.
So there are damages needed to be repaired the untested features and mechanics. I wish you guys Good Luck against Gruff.
I've heard some of those drums spinning up close but I didn't know WD sounds like an absolute jet engine too.

These are some of the best and closest shots I've ever seen of Witch Doctor and I'm unashamedly taking as many screenshots as humanly possible for inspiration from the best.
A smaller step on your rotating weapon would be more destructive, and wouldn't stop instantly, breaking the chain.
Any chance the receiver issue is due to noise created by the motor controllers? You also could be facing interference from other robots.

I think how repairable the damage is after the fusion fight show how good WD’s armor design is, while the wedges are ripped off, the frame itself is not that badly damaged
Thank you! We definitely design with damage in mind. Being able to repair the robot quickly is a huge part of the sport with such destructive opponents!

This last thursday i was over at my mothers, coincidentally working on an RC crawler when she asked me what i wanted to watch on tv, because she knows i really dont watch tv. I do subscribe to discovery exclusively for BB. I saw BB on the menu and i told her to stop there. You guys and BB's made my 70 something mother giggle like a school girl. Youve been making me happy for years but to get my mother excited about destruction is something else. Thank you.
It's a chassis in your case. Not a frame.
A frame provides structural support for the main drive train components only.. A frame supports a body (enclosure if you like) that auxiliary parts are mounted to/within.
Your "frame" also functions as the body and houses all of the auxiliary components; making it a chassis rather than a frame.
Call it what you like, but just know that anyone that has experience in the mechanical design is wondering why you're calling it a frame when it's a chassis.

If you only have two frames and assuming that’s the same for everyone. What do teams do if both frames are unusable?
Last year we had 12 fights on 2 frames, and we had to make crazy repairs to keep the bot going!
Well... no - we'll find out how you fare against Gruff before the next episode, you sillies - the fight will air before then. But I get what you meant.
Also, you better have won, and gotten that momentum going for you - the fight with Minotaur will be epic, and even more so if you'realso 3-0 going in.
I've had so much trouble getting VESC Tool to properly and reliably measure motor parameters. We ruled out FOC for an industrial fan product for this reason.

Really appreciate these videos. I could not spend that level of effort to watch what I worked on get torn apart.
The goal is that the effort keeps your bot from getting destroyed 😉
