Fast fashion has completely perverted our perception of what clothes are worth. I think the artisanal nature of visvim warrants the high price tag because of the deep care and craftsmanship present in each garment or accessory. I’ve been buying second hand visvim from Japan for years now because I can’t afford the retail price and I’m always happy with my purchases.

He named it after the band because the band was wearing mocassins in one of their music videos and I believe the guy from undercover told Nakamura to make shoes inspired from the mocassins in the music video.

it wasn’t the guy from undercover, it was hiroshi fujiwara.

The FBT was named after them because the vocalist is fond of wearing the type of mocassin like the visvim shaman

I own a pair of the FBT Undefeateds that I forgot I had that I left at my parent’s house! At the time, I’m pretty sure I paid under $200 for them at a consignment shop and at the time they were slightly too small for me and so I just shelved them. When I found them again I had lost a lot of weight, I dusted them off, tried them on and they fit perfectly! Now I’m on the fence about selling them lol cuz I know I can easily get a grand for them. I’ve simplified my fashion sense these days, so we’ll see…

@@kiddada3 main issue with fast fashion currently is the sustainability and how long that item will last. Its affordable but at the cost of the quality which leads to the buyer ending up buying more items in the future sadly. Overall theres pros and cons to fast fashion, but soon enough the question of ethics arrives

Yes and no. I bought my balistic bag more than 5 years okay in tokyo for the equivalent of 600 euro’s it still looks brand new after heavy use. However, nowadays, the same bag costs 900+ euro’s. That is what I think Hiroki is doing wrong, raising the prices to much in a short time span. You cant justify a 300 eu+ price raise in 5 years

I had a bunch of acronym and after a pretty long time in that genre I thought they were super overpriced(although I'm somehow still willing to pay even if im aware of that). I was in no position to say this, but I think Visvim seems like doing the same thing of marketing and overpricing, just in a different genre. I respect what he did, but not my thing for the period.
PS: anything can be done with machine, it's just the scale not worth they invest time and money to create a machine for the production, plus I think they want the process of hand-made.
