  • Join me an a wonderful day trip from Nice to Menton on the glorious Cote d'Azure.
Starting at Gare to Nice Ville, the main train station in Nice, I board the regular train service that runs between Nice and Ventimiglia, stopping at Menton before the train leaves France and travels across the border into Italy.
Menton is a town of grand heritage, reflected in its buildings and its sense of style and sophistication. Famous for its huge lemons, beaches, marina and colourful narrow shopping streets its a lovely place to explore for a day.

Compared to most other travel videos I really appreciated your detailed instructions on actually traveling from one place to another and where to go once you get off the train etcetera. It may seem mundane to some people but for those of us who haven't been to France in 30 years, I found it so helpful

Would you have been able to get off at Menton Garavan and would this be closer to the old town? Also, can you walk to the Italian border from Menton Garavan?

@@AngelaV-mo3qx Hi Angela, yes I believe you could get off at Menton Garavan and walk to the old town. I’d say it’s a similar distance from both stations. In my video we walked along the beach, but you can cut into the old town earlier if you walk from Menton station.
I haven’t tried to walk from Menton Garavan to the Italian border so I can’t offer any advice on that unfortunately. I hope you have a great trip if you go!

How was Menton station for accessibility?

@@wheelogger hi, when I was there earlier this year there were building works happening and the access was limited just to stairs from memory. However that may have been a temporary situation and works may have been completed now and the lift may be operating. Sorry I can’t confirm the current situation
