It’s crazy to me. Now I’m an older millennial but nothing beats the sound of a CD. Agree with you 1,000 percent. What's the point of disenfranchising those who want to play the music of their choice on a vehicle trip just to save a few dollars in manufacturing costs by deleting the disc drive?
It’s not a few bucks it’s more like thousands. CD players are consumption of space and which require more into engineering and design to put dated technology that needs more down steps in order to try to “integrate” and keep up with modern cars. Physical media needs physical hardware upgrades and maintenance. Compression and audio quality of cds can’t be compared to what output digital can (alac, lossless, Dolby Atmos) There’s so much more negative environmental impact in producing and disposing cds & players. If those who are begging for a cd player in there new car are a more niche segment and demographic, then it’s really fair to say that you’re willing to pay more for what you want even if it goes up in the hundreds towards your sticker price. Just like any add on to a vehicle that the few really want and will pay for it. If I want a CF wing then I don’t have a choice but to buy it. Have your CDs burned into a usb drive- it is more convenient and allows for better hands free song selection. There are plenty of used vehicles that have cd slots but to ask for the perks of a newer car with previous generation and really unreliable system added in is solely on the more niche demographic demand to supply.
I was wondering the same thing. Perusing through many of the questions about specific makes/models of new vehicles while quick scrolling through the comments below, I am bummed out as many of you are. With the advent of adding USB powered external devices being made and designed for PC's and other smart devices, I would have thought that having an easier option to have an external CD player for newer model vehicles would be a strong sell point without having to settle on just what is factory equipped. A very cool and dear friend of mine, who is a recently retired IT professional has an incredible audiophile library collection of CD's which cannot be played with the standalone external unit such as the one you are demonstrating here in his new 2021 Chevy Equinox. Every other smart device - his iPhone, etc can, no problems - - but no CD's. I even burned a CD specifically to break in the sound system factory equipped using an external ODD & HDD Device (CD burner, player and DVD/Blue Ray player). I use it frequently with my laptop and naturally one has to have installed software to bridge the two hardware devices together. The CD's burned work on every CD player known to man - cheap to expensive - but alas - not for the device demonstrated here with new vehicle he has. Anyway, thanks for the informative and educational tutorial to demonstrate how this can be done as an option for some makes/models. Well done!
I purchased one for my BMW X5 and it sits in the arm console. The CD player works well and it was a great investment for my musical enjoyment especially when Sirus will expire in a year after free subscription.
Just bought 2 new cars (2023's) and neither has CD player so I need at least 1 external player for when Sirius trial expires. I only listen to AM news, classical & 60's rock, I sorely miss my 2005 Suzuki Aerio 6-cd changer built into the dash. Got spoiled but rust took my baby out last month. New cars are great but what a slap to cd music lovers with huge collections! I truly believe car mfr's were paid off..... to force us to buy music! I refuse to comply & have hundreds of cd's already paid for & many are one of a kind from performances (church/college performances) that aren't online for purchase. Bummed boomer here..
I'm pretty sure that is what's happening. Sirius or a consortium of music streamers are paying carmakers probably 100s of $ per new car to not only make the music system streaming, but also very specifically to NOT include cd players. And to make it hard for car owners to add them aftermarket. Streaming services are hellbent on eliminating cds, and this is one of their valuable strategies for doing so.
Navigating through menus to play songs stored on a USB in my F150 is cumbersome and dangerously distracting. CD players although antiquated were simple and safer to use. Here's how to make your CD player work without a friggin' bluetooth expense. Get one with an auxilliary port FROM the cd directly into your dashboard port. It looks like an earphone plug. It works. I was astonished at the quality, even if the recordings are old 50's and 60's music.
But my 2019 Honda Civic LX with no Android Auto also does not have an auxiliary input jack. I need to use one of the two USB ports in my car but they do not work with the unbranded CD player (no make name, no model number & no serial number I bought from Amazon). I've tried watching your old videos but I'm having some trouble and I'd really appreciate it if you could respond back thank you
I received a very similar player as a gift, but when I tried to use it, it would skip tracks, each time reducing the track list. It would play track 1, then repeat track 1 but call it track 2, then skip track 2, then play track 3 & maybe 4 before skipping another track. By the time it finished, it would tell you a 24-track CD had only a dozen tracks. Did this consistently with over a dozen, store-bought CDs. What is wrong here? Any help would be appreciated.

why does it not show available anymore?
Hello, if you could respond back that would be greatly appreciated. I have 2003 Saturn ion 1 an I'm trying to disable the passlock in the steering column but I cant figure it out I have an aftermarket alarm so I do not need to retain the security. I've tried watching your old videos but I'm having some trouble and I'd really appreciate it if you could respond back thank you

@@Lesscoelectronics Thanks For Getting Back To Me!
Great ideal. Wow the price $$$$. Well looks like I will be doing some shade tree hookups to my old CD player. CHEER and a like.
Where can order this CD player? Can't buy it from the OEM directly!
lesscoelectronics.com
@@Lesscoelectronics Got one on Amazon, works fine, thanks!
@@sailrider4411 Which one did you buy?
@@vickirocco9180 I bought AIE 1. They have two types 1 and 2 depending on what car you drive so check the compatibility chart before you buy.

Is this olso a player for a Kia Sportage 2017?
If your 2017 Kia Sportage does have a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack, you can try "POSSPO Jupiter CD player".
Is the Multi Disc Version Can Chnage Discs Via Stereo Control?
Will this play mp3 audio files ?
No it will not.
No response - how unhelpful - shame on you Lessco
OK!! What's it called and where can I get one????
Its a usb cd player. We have it at lesscosales.com
Does it play mp3 cd's too with a 100 plus songs on them?
MP3s are the same quality file you get with your phone and streaming. Save your money if that’s what you want to do with it unless you just like manually putting in a disc for the fun of it, be my guest.
