They're all the same, so just buy the cheapest one. Works in my 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback (will likely work in Kona and Sonata as they share a lot of parts). Yes, takes a while to recognize the disk. If you plug in the drive when the car is already running, once in motion, the car's alarm bell will beep for 90 seconds. To avoid, plug in before starting car.

Bluetooth looses a lot of quality but if you plug your phone by cable and uses some high bitrate music, would sound very good.
The thing is that with me I have about 3000 CDs and I still buy CDs rather often. I don’t have the time to extract the CDs all the time. It’s simpler for me to put a disc in. Hence my need for a CD player.

On my 2024 Toyota Sienna it displays the tracks as WAV files, but I could not get it to play anything. It works well with my Windows laptop. Is there something I am missing or is the Sienna not quite compatible? Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.
Toyota is not using Android so you can’t use it with Toyota
Well, the one I tried to use in my 2019 Nissan could not read the CD. The radio could see it but it could not find the music. My guess is the CD player is bad, but not sure. I need to find more information before I make another move.
I just received mine in the mail today. I own a 2019 Nissan Frontier. After some trouble shooting, I figured out that with the little black box it comes with, the decoder, you have to use all three ports. The car player interface, audio interface, and the power interface. Select the auxiliary input on your stereo, and it should play your CD. It works just fine in my truck, and the audio quality is amazing. I hope this helps.

No external drive will give you ID TAG from any audio CD

If your head unit have USB movie playback capability them yes. This is only the optical reader. The audio and video capability relies on your head unit’s capability.
It's too big/wide. It would be nice if it was slim or smaller.

Because there is no point. While the cars transmission is in D, no video will be shown on the screen anyway. Besides, I no longer own anymore DVD. I have bluray and UHD bluray but no more DVD

Maybe to you. I have time to rip all 3000 of my CDs. Besides, I know all the titles anyway, who cares about reading the title?
Why would you want to see the track info or listing if you already know your cd's music content? Satellite radio I understand. Worthless would be buying this and not being able to play your cd.

What to do if you need to connect your phone to this USB port to use car play / android auto? Any solutions?
You simply can not. I’m baffled that many cars still only have 1 input that is compatible with data stream and the rest are only for charging. It’s annoying to me too.
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted I think 95% that you are right. However, I have strange language In my car manual that says if USB hub is used, only two closest to plug ports car will read. I didn't try this yet. For me was upsetting enough absence of CD slot and android auto stops verbal direction during my call. I hope I will fix it, but on line some says it is part of the design, some says there is an setting that will fix that. So far none of them worked for me.
@vladm9096 I tried using both powered hub and a non powered hub, it doesn’t work in my VW or my Volvo. My Mercedes has 2 active USB that I can connect two data devices at the same time.
I am spending WAY too much time researching this, a month after I bought a Kia Niro. All it has is a USB port, no aux, so this SHOULD work, but judging from online forums, I am getting mixed views. Kia themselves are no help (even though they sold me the vehicle claiming it was possible) nor are the places they recommend I call, like RFC who do after-market work or crutchfield, an online option. And naturally their is no way I can find out how to contact whoever makes these devices to see if they work with a new Kia Niro. So do I keep buying stuff and return it if it doesn't work??
Sadly yes. Because of there are sooooooo many variations of Android OS, nobody can guarantee anything.

It is understandable but very illogical. The cost of audio system in any given car is about US$30 including the speakers. If they add a CD player, the cost goes up by around US$20. Stupid, I know, considering the price of cars, but that’s the business reality. :( :(

Been looking at these for awhile now for my Atoto. Does it skip when you are on a rough road? Have you tried it in the cold? I remember the first CD car players wouldn't play when cold and would skip like crazy over bumps.
I have never experienced skip while using this player and have also played it during winter time with zero problem thus far.
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted Thank you for the reply, unfortunately after watching your video TH-cam recommended another video with the same player and the reviewer said that because it only plays WAV files that most CDs made before 2010 (which is all of mine) won't play because they are not in WAV format. Bummer.
@Pro1er that review is utter bullshit. ALL audio CDs are in WAV. That is the orange book (audio CD) specifications. I played CDs as old as from pre 1990 with ZERO problem.

Update from my comment a few days ago this does work in my BMW and also displays track titles BUT I had to wait a long time for it to find the player and I mean a long time , now it works like a factory fitted CD player . Happy Days .

I got this same one for my 2019 Honda accord and it just scanned through all the tracks and then would decide it liked track 6 or 7 and then go back to scanning and skipping the rest. So sending back.
DOH !!! I just wish car manufacturers just leave the CD player alone. The manufacturing cost for a CD drive is less than $10 (yes, I did price it, and basing it at only 10,000 order quantity)
car manufacturers make hundreds of thousands of cars of the same model each year, they should be able to negotiate the pricing down to around US$6 per drive.

Just like streaming any music/movies, quality is worse than playing from the actual CD/DVD
Some might like “streaming” but agree wish they would leave them alone or very least make a plug and play one.
@joshymcdaniel9233 it is highly ridiculous. I actually checked around for a China vendor that makes DVD drives. According to them it will inly cost them $12 landed cost including case customization (so it looks like”custom” in a particular car) and added VW, BMW branding, etc.
I don’t understand why manufacturers just have that option and charge, say, $200. I know a shitton of people would pay for that optical transport added to the car from the factory.
Hi, the cd player in my 2014 Toyota Corolla no longer works (the cd won't eject) so I bought this exact same player, but does not work in the usb. Any help appreciated. Thanks
It won’t work with the old Toyota because the car doesn’t use Android OS

I can’t say, there is no Isuzu in Canada. But if your car use Android OS, then it should work.
I plugged my portable cd player into the usb drive and nothing happened.

@@DavidSusiloUnscripted Does it need to be the exact portable player shown here? The one I got was more of a rounded shaped one that came with headphones. But I plugged it into the usb port in my vehicle, and couldn't find it at all on my car's info screen.

There is no Peugeot in Canada so I can’t tell for sure BUT if your Peugeot is using Android-based operating system (you can ask your dealer), then this unit will be 100% compatible.

Does your car have DVD playback capability? Dont forget this is just a drive. The playback capability is still done by the car

It does but if your head unit doesn’t have the playback capability to begin with then it won’t do anything
