My Brother has one of these in 17HMR. His is pre-accutrigger. I shot the best group I have ever shot with a rimfire with this rifle. 5 shots in 3/8” at 100yards. I was absolutely shocked at how well it shoots.
I had one of the mark 2 93f non accutrigger that would shoot very well. Love those savages. I got a Ruger precision 22lr I’m fixing to take out and try. Great stuff Doc.
I have the savage Mark II FV-SR with the 16.5 bull barrel in a Boyd’s stock . Thing shoots sooo good and crazy accurate . Loves CCI mini mag and Lapua Center X . I have a suppressor on the way for it as well , can’t wait !
Considering this gun. I am an older gal so was wondering about the kick back. Watching your video helped me to realize this is prb the gun for me. Thank you for your great video
I have the Savage Mark II FV (Same rifle without scope). With Federal Automatch and CCI MiniMag ammo I get about 4 MOA. With CCI standard velocity ammo I get < 1 MOA. Try shooting it with CCI standard velocity, you might be amazed. I put a cheap CVLIFE 6-24X50 scope on mine. I don't like the scope, but it does work ok.
@@vameathunter2771 That's fair. I'm getting an Athalon 6-24 soon. Then again, I'm a new believer in not using bulk ammo to try and get accuracy. My upgrading ammo was cheap, upgrading my scope to something $250-$400 is taking longer. And a cheap scope with good ammo, will out shoot a good scope with bulk ammo 90% of the time. :)
Thanks for the review, I need a .22 LR pistol or rifle for my wife. Untrained lady is holding a weapon is dangerous, but less dangerous than she is holding a credit card in her hands.
Nice Video, I recently bought a rugar 10/22 but now looking for a bolt action 22lr & think I'm leaning towards a Savage just for the price point , here in Canada I can pick one up starting at 200 - 500 hundred bones, anyway nice shooting 🤘
Thanks for the review. I know this is old video, but you can zero your scope with 1 shot. Just move the crosshairs to where your impact was, and bam, instantly set for zero. Your very next shot should be bullseye. 👍

@@flsuccesscoach Sounds great bro, we bought a land last year and I called it Dreamland where I teach defense shooting class here😁. Have fun n God bless.
Thanks for the vid. I’m more of an ar / Glock guy but my gf likes shooting long. Would this be an appropriate rifle for her to hit a 5” target at 200 yards? Thanks!
I was considering getting this in a walnut stock. Already have the HK416 on an AR platform, semi auto with 30 round clips, figured a reasonably priced bolt action 22 would be great for teaching my children. Do these come from factory ready to mount a scope?
Im working on a older lakefield cooey 22lr. I think its the older version of what you got. I think i should buy it because my cooey winchester 64b is shooting 2 inch groups at 75 yards. Im going to bedd it to free float it to see if my groups tighten up. Im still hitting pop cans at 75 yards but i ant my groups tighter so i can use it for my gopher 22lr.
I took a look at my setup and found out the rings are old and broken. Needs a new set. So ill try set the iron sights and see what kind of groups im getting. Maybe my group was so big because of the olf faulty rings. Thanks for commenting. Have a great day brother.
I was shooting the same hole using ironsights at 20 yards. Id like to see it on a non windy day out to 100 . I was off 1 inch in the wind at 100yards yesterday so ill wait for a good day to set it .
I have the Savage TRR-SR, and my daughter the Savage Minimalist, both Mii. They are very different in respects of, barrel, action and price of course. The TRR-SR is more accurate than the Minimaliat. Ammo like/dislike goes to TRR-SR, Minimalist is very picky and rarely shoots MOA. I have been puzzled by the Minimalists performance, checked everything, broke it down 3 times. It's only 1.5 years old. Shots nothing MOA, 30 + ammo types. It gets close all the time, but just like I guess good enough for steel shooting, any ideas beyond sending it to savage?
Yes best 22 rifle for the money, mines love cci mini mag rag hole at 25, if I was a better shooter I’m pretty shut it is capable of doing it at 50 or close to it……nice rifle
I have this rifle but with a stainless steel barrel and Bushnell scope. Where can I order those 10 round mags? 5 round mags go too fast and constantly reloading.
