    Hello Doctor... Can Dry Needling help in treating Myofascial pain / trigger points ?

    • @Dr.Jacobs
      @Dr.Jacobs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, dry needling will not help with myofasical pain or trigger points. In order to release the myofascial system and trigger points you will need strong mechanical force applied on the restricted tissue. It is impossible to cause strong mechanical force using the dry needling to cause physiological change.
      Typically myofascial pain caused by scar tissue, fascia restrictions, trigger points and inflammation. In order to treat the root cause of your pain you will need to work on superficial/ deep scar tissue, superficial/ deep fascia restrictions, trigger points and inflammation simultaneously. ASTR's patient tool kit has 4 tools to address these issues.
      Here is my protocol for myofascial pain:
      - Mild Pain Package: pain level 0-3/10
      - Moderate Pain Package: pain level 4-6/10
      - Severe Pain Package: pain level 7-10/10

    Hi Dr, I have pain in my thoracic area when I stand or sit upright (gravity). After being bed ridden for a couple of years I had a morphine pain pump implant put in 2011.(I first injured it in 2001) It has enabled me to stand for about an hour before I have to lie down. I did a lot of heavy lifting for my jobs and been diagnosed with Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome. Do you think that you could do anything for me? I've been searching for 22 years! Matt
