    It's very nice with informative text, no talking, trying out different settings, binaural, and long sequences which gets the feeling across of what it would actually be like.

    The GTS has 20 mm lowered suspension; have you scraped bottom on any speed humps yet? Steep incline accesses to businesses seem to be everywhere on city streets now. Taking all those at an angle may be the answer. The factory offers a 10 mm raised option (from the -20 mm) at no cost for those ordering a build.

    • @MilesPerHr
      @MilesPerHr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you take things at an angle, you’re going to be just fine.

    Did you find the ground clearance to be an issue? I see you approaching the speed bump and parking lot at an angle (slight not too much effort). I’m waiting for my allocation for the same gts 4.0 and debating on whether I should keep the standard SPASM suspension or choose the PASM which sits 10 mm higher than the SPASM.

    • @MilesPerHr
      @MilesPerHr  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found a way around every obstacle. If you know you're going to reach steep driveways or huge bumps you can't avoid on your daily drive routes, maybe go with PASM. Otherwise, you should be just fine.

    Hi my friend, nice racing car from Porsche, I like the car’s acceleration and speed and the 0-60 mph test was accelerating at a speed of 60 mph on a given seconds “I don’t know how much seconds”. Nice car. Your driving was interesting and great.

    Oh man, should have taken Silverado Canyon RD!!! It would have been much better than a cruise down the toll roads...:( After selling my c6z06 i am looking at a 718 gts or gt4 with a stick but I see what people mean about the gearing. You won't be rowing too many gears on most roads because you will blast past the speed limits. Hmmm....It's a $100g+ drop so I want to make sure it's the right move. Beautiful car though, no doubt...and a stick which is almost impossible to find today!!! Thanks for the video...:)

    How does this compare with the turbo 4 cylinder base cayman in terms of value?

    • @MilesPerHr
      @MilesPerHr  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just don't love the 4 cylinder character, so I wouldn't consider it, personally. The GTS isn't cheap, but it's worth saving up IMO

  • @johncartwright5179
    @johncartwright5179 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks! Trees (sigh ...) on the side of many roads I've seen you drive the GTS 4,0 on (like 1 week ago), not just palms or cactus; but you can have CA. I'll stay in AZ. Btw, I'll guess your exhaust sound is picked up with a mic outside on the rear - z'at correct?

  • @TRX25EX
    @TRX25EX 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I gotta ask a question I'm making buying decision here, since you drove both GTS 4.0 and Evora which felt more special to drive? Which you liked more and wanted to drive more?
    I'm not buying Evora but Emira...... Came from 981 GTS, alot of guys told me Lotus are more fun to drive hence decided for Lotus, but to me 981 GTS so far best car I have ever owned, even better than Ferrari 458 I owned....
    So I would love to take your opinion which felt more special to you, I'm gonna daily Emira btw!

    • @MilesPerHr
      @MilesPerHr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Oooh that is tough. The Evora GT was such a treat in tight corners and it got WAY more attention, but the GTS 4.0 soundtrack and interior was far superior. If I was going to drive the car more than once per week, I'd take the GTS.

    • @Jay-xr3sb
      @Jay-xr3sb 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps you could help me out, I'm saving for the midlife crisis....
      The 458 is my dream car but it ain't happening for budget reasons. In what way was the 981 gts better? Do you rate the 718 gts 4.0 even higher?
      I'm stuck with the following shortlist, I'm in the uk and the weather and roads aren't great. It won't be a daily commute but it will be my go to car, 2-4 drives pw.
      Lotus emira- still waiting to see what the reviews are like. I'm sure it will have a better interior but still won't have the build quality of audi/porsche. Will have to wait for 3-4 for a few used examples or the base model...long wait.
      981 s/gts- still commands a premium, prefer the front but not the rear vs the 718. Not really a discount to the 718.
      718 gts 4.0, the daddy, can't go wrong but same as the lotus. It will be years away until supply catches up with demand and used cars come down.
      Audi TTRS- quick and 4wd is perfect for the UK, unique 5cl. although I give up rear wheel fun and balance. I won't be tracking and I'm not sure I'll ever push it to feel the oversteer. Same will all, I'll never deliberately power slide.
      718 2.5T, ok, the sound isn't there but everything else is.
      In the UK I think it will hold up well but discounts maybe had as the gts 4.0 is here. Same with the amg emira, the Turbo will have the usable torque and more economical setup/lower tax.
      Any thoughts welcome...

    • @TRX25EX
      @TRX25EX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Jay-xr3sb I personally loved 981 Cayman GTS due to having very charactful engine, it had more character for me than 458, as for 718 GTS 4.0, I drove one recently tbh, I found out that it's better in every way except for engine sound compared to 981.. so depends how you value engine sound, when looking at their prices I will go for 981 GTS to save money and it will offer 90% of 718 GTS experience + better sound.
      As for 458, if you don't have the money you won't enjoy it cause it's supercar, people tend to be careful and scared driving them for 2 reasons: damage + high mileage resale value...... So you end up having a car becoming a hassle than enjoyment, but if you have the money absolutely it's a blast to drive
