Maria was accidentally created at an energy plant in another episode & only started attacking places to ingest power. It was WordGirl that immediately threw her into jail & called her the "Energy Monster", introducing her to villainy by doing so. I feel like Maria immediately being able to speak could have resulted in WordGirl steering her in a better direction (like WG often does with Eileen) & could have worked something out.

Yeah, he's the one who should've been "mega-grounded".
Very fun episode! Seeing everyone underestimate Becky with disdain is always disheartening to watch & I wish we could see more of Maria. That being said, loved the plot point, the trial, & the fact that the full episode was on here without being a tiny screen in a corner or something.
I know Mr and Mrs. Botsford loves Becky but I become more and more convinced that Steven Boxleitner/Dr. Two Brains is a better parent to her tbh. At times, they showed outright favoritism to TJ. It would have been one thing if they punished her but TJ should have been told to go to his room when it happened or remain out of it.
There is a fanfic called sometimes unexpected things can happen where the Botsford find out Becky is word girl and disown her and dr two brains adopts her u should read it sometime

Granted, they don't know Becky is WordGirl, and while Sally shows better qualities than Tim, I always was annoyed with him fr because he's always complaining. The reason why I find Claire a better parent is because she scolded her son but doesn't take away his robots like the Botsfords threatened to do with Becky's collection by TJ - her own brother - no less! Like in the "Talent Show Tobey" episode where she was cheering Tobey on and was genuinely proud of him until his robot destroyed the building. In the "Guess Who's Coming To Thanksgiving Dinner" episode, she was trying to enjoy the holiday, and when he left, she was searching literally everywhere for him. When he came back, she was happy to see him. In "New Year of Doom!" Tobey and Claire smiled at each other on top of a robot throughout the New Year count-probably the most touching moment between the two and shows she supports whenever he builds his robots just in a constructive way. Small moments counts too. I think they should have shown more sweeter moments where Tobey indeed loves his mom and vice versa.
