Love it! I had to giggle at the first story, I couldn't help but picture the boys from the movie 'The Goonies' getting into mischief. 🤣 I recently had to clean an empty house that was put on the market. Inside the spare room/office area was a large storage closet built under the stairs, inside that closet was ANOTHER storage room where the boiler was, inside that room was a floor panel made from concrete. Together with my mother we opened it. Inside was what looked like a long forgotten unfinished dirt basement. One look in there and we both said NOPE! Was not about to star in a horror movie. 😱

I loved this one!! I don't think everything needs to be terrifying - I like the creepily interesting idea of hidden spaces.
I love this topic, and it has always been a dream of mine to either find/build a secret passage. It can be super dangerous to do so, but if you have proper training it'd be fine barring some kind of natural disaster. Awesome set of stories, don't even care if they're short. Still better than a lot of others.

Dude, I friggin LOVE these secret rooms stories! At my last house there was this tiny door in the closet of my room. It went under the house prolly for access to fix stuff but that didn't make me any less sketched out by it... I put a super heavy trunk in front of it just in case. I swear some nights I heard that door rattle a little!!!! Eeeek creepy. Thank our lucky stars we moved from that place. Funniest story I ever heard about a sketchy room was from a tradie mate who built a sound proof room for a professional dominatrix … he also agreed to be paid in services rather than cash 🤩

These are a refreshing difference from so many "He creeped me out, looking at me" stories. Really interesting, thanks so much for searching them out. As usual, your phrasing, tone and pace really make these worth listening to.Recently in an archeological dig, a workman took me by the hand, led me through a stone door and into a narrow marble passage twisting up from a sea gate into the main part of the ruin. "See, marble," he said, "Very expensive. I think a young lady." Secret important visitors!

@@MortisMedia I listened for a good portion, but fell asleep at some point. Honestly sometimes I use these types of videos as a jump off point for dreams, other times as something to listen to and relax and let my brain turn off before bed. and this video was perfect for the first one. Probably use it again here shortly.
I went to a University in Ontario, 🇨🇦. It also had tunnels underground that I was privileged to enter as I was "acquainted" with a girl high up in the student union and she hooked me up. Definitely pretty interesting down there. Great video Mort! Love this topic.
I really really enjoyed this one Mort. It may have been a change of pace from the usual, but I really liked these types of mysterious stories.

31:21 Definitely York University, I use to go there when they held the Pan-Am games. The tunnels are open mostly for people to freely access, but a lot of sketchy things go on down there but it does have cameras down there and security do scans occasionally.

The ppl in the secret room in the school is not so usual,some schools will lease rooms for businesses,councils, adult education,etc to use,it's a way to raise funds ,if there bunch of rooms etc not being used for school use,happens even more on days when school etc is closed, weekends.

I went to jr high in Germany. our school started life as a warehouse complex that was converted after ww2 to a school for American dependents. The summer after I graduated I heard that they did a major renovation of the school gym. When they removed the Sheetrock they found a Nazi armory complete with uniforms individual & crew served weapons ammunition and grenades sufficient to arm a rifle company. This was in the early 80's. What is amazing is that it was not found before -due to the number of holes that had been knocked into the walls over the years.

Look into "deep underground military bas es" ... its a wild rabbit hole. It sounds incredibly fantastical at first .. but upon more digging and logical reasoning it makes perfect sense. They started building them in the 60s or so. Which makes sense if you know anything about the Titan missles. During the cold war both sides would build these absolutely massive underground missile silos ... they would have multiple floors and be totally hidden with the actual missle silo top being automated and disguised. To this day there are tons of them (long since abandoned) all over the country. We started doing this out of necessity to hide them from the soviets. They kept doing them I'd guess because it's hard to question something you can't even see now isn't it?
The machine used to dig these tunnels and bases are called "tunnel boring machines". They essentially use a Lazer and cut through the earth slowly, at the same time it leaves this concrete kind of shell. Building the tunnel. They use them for subways for example. These things are MASSIVE. You can find pics and videos on the web of them working. Combine that with our governments massive black budget and suddenly it isn't as far fetched anymore.

Living in the area, I can at least confirm the U of I tunnels are very much real and still in use. They're utility spaces now.
