Probably the Tape Bias is misaligned.

Could be an easy fix heads may just need cleaning or the azmith may need adjusting on the tape heads .

    Hi
Can you explain how to take off cassette lid on 5010 for heads cleaning.
When I take off lid, the plastic frame is removed, but the glass stay on his place.
May be you can show on video or another way, how I can do remove.
Thanks a Lot from new Marantz5010 owner from Ukraine

Just curious... What does the "B" stand for? I have a regular 5010 that I've owned for years. It was my grandfather's from about 1977-ish. I'd say maybe the "B" stands for "Dolby B", but my regular old 5010 has Dolby B on it. So I'm confused. LOL!

There are two kinds one in 440mm and the other the B Version in 416mm , for the Receiver are the 440mm I think and for the standalone parts are the 416mm - without the screws... technical the same...

Please, do you still have the device? I bought a used Marantz 5010B and it has no transformer. I need to know the voltages that come out of the transformer on the red, green and yellow wires. Can you help me?
If I know the respective voltages I can build a new transformer for him.
