Not only can each be a great lead, but they can then instantly switch to being a background singer in which, in a certain way, they become invisible. They can make this change from verse to verse, or even in the middle of a verse. They get out of the way and just become the music.

Loving these Pentatonix reactions, but I will reiterate what I've said on previous videos: I really hope you'll watch a live performance of theirs. Part of what truly sets them apart from.. anybody, really, is their ability to do this live.

That is all their voices...it's amazing! The Cher song they did use a bit of autotune, as homage to Cher.
I love that they did that on "Believe."
I wonder why they didn't put the effect on Scott. My theory is that his voice has too much texture that the auto-tune would just make him sound robotic, not stylized.
They are currently working with Disney on a Christmas special that will be on Disney Plus this coming holiday season. Curious to see how much will be a capella, and how much Disney will throw in instrumentals. Pentatonix does sometimes work with instrumental backgrounds.
I’ve only seen snippets about this. Am I misunderstanding, or is it going to be animated.

Did you catch the autotune they used on Cher's song? Since she was the first to use it, they paid homage to her with that tiny detail, but it spoke volumes. I want you to react to ALL PTX songs! LOL

There is a live version of this just recently from their Hollywood Bowl concert on 9/29/22 - it's all them.
Their Daft Punk Medley is the most spectacular thing they’ve done and it won a Grammy!!!!!❤

There are never any hidden instruments in their videos. Kevin plays the cello in a few, but never hidden.

PTX did use more studio production in this than they normally do, at least partially because most of the songs from that era also used a lot of studio production. They used auto-tune in Believe, because Cher was the first artist to use it as a vocal effect, not just to correct errors in post-production.

I REALLY want PTX to release each persons part as a ‘complete’ song if that makes sense so we can hear what each person is doing for the entire song because too many times I forget it’s not ‘music’ and I know I’m not appreciating everyone’s talent like I want to.

You keep mentioning how amazed you are with the instruments they can make with their voices/bodies. Check out Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy. An entirely instrumental song they did with just their voices that won them a Grammy.

It is just their voices, but there is definitely some beefing up being done in the studio - which is fine. They still sound great live, but it obviously won't be as polished as a true studio mix.
Zero instruments, unless you count Kevin's beatboxing.
