People just gotta stop complaining about price and be smarter at buying it cheaper... such as buying a gently used 2-3 year old model. You can get a 2015 C class for 25-30k. Isnt that the price of a new Chevy? Lol
I actually got really lucky. On 3/17/20 I purchased a 2016 Mercedes Benz C300 4Matic Sport for 25K. It was certified preowned with 20,000 miles on it. It is fully loaded. The only thing missing was distronic (Mercedes driver assistance tech). It has backup camera, navigation, Burmester sound, pano sunroof, AMG wheels 18 inch 5 spoke, sport tuned suspension, sporty body molding. The spec sheet I had showed the original MSRP was over 53K back in 2016. Since the car is certified by MB... they offer an extended year of warranty with unlimited miles and they gave me free complimentary maintenance at 30K miles (when I’m ready to get the 30K mile maintenance). I traded in my Nissan Leaf for this car. I had a lease and I was paying over 400 bucks a month on the Nissan Leaf, and I hated the leaf. It was cheap and yet the car was very expensive in price. The MSRP on the leaf was 44K. I put 4K down on the C300 and I’m paying $380 bucks a month for the MB C300. It’s a great car and since it was certified... Mercedes has all the service records for it. You can totally buy a C300 for a very reasonable price.
My only issue with this, is the lack of radio pre-set buttons. I'm not sure why cars are trying to phase them out? That's the number one thing a driver probably messes with with driving. I just think a physical button is much safer than having to change different screens while driving.
juss7111 Because it isn't cheap. They don't just simply put some reversing camera on their cars. Look at the high resolution quality of Mercedes back up cameras and compare it to the rubbish in other cars and you'll see why a reverse camera isn't cheap in this case. It's not about just giving a feature but also the quality of that feature that matters. It has to be the best or nothing.
SDav21 backup cameras are standards in almost all cars even base models. For as much as Mercedes charge (or overcharge) for their brand/car, you think they would put one in since their customers pay so much.
Purchased one today. Had a look at 3 series, a4/a5 and c class. I just loved being inside the c class. It just felt so much more premium than the bmw and audi. Merc are light years ahead in terms of design and internal quality.
my dream marc , looks great , best interior , right size , great engine choices ....I honestly can't find a true flaw or deal breaker except the price in my case loll
4:55 The C400 has a Twin-turbo 3.0 V6. Nothing "Natural" about it. Notice the C-Class has only 7 gears and 7 airbags. The Lexus IS300, for example, has 10 airbags and 8 gears, plus 14 more HP.
I love your videos, but I think there's a mistake on the information being delivered? The C400 has a turbocharged engine, not normally aspirated engine, if I remember correctly. Besides that, keep up the good videos!
Lenny The Wizard Depends on who you ask. Some people prefer the more linear power delivery of a normally aspirated engine. As for me, I prefer the torque surge of a turbo motor, especially one that kicks in down low. Helps for scooting in and out of gaps in city traffic.
Haven't commented on TH-cam since i started to watch. But i gotta mention this as a car enthusiast lol. C400 has a bi-turbo v6. No offense! I know you guys can make a mistake, you know we all are humans haha love and respect what you guys are doing and take care. by the way, Imma get c400 in future.
Mercedes is definitely picking it up. A lighter chassis is great. The previous model seemed a little ridiculous. The C300 looks amazing. Interior quality is something that Mercedes always benchmarks, although driving dynamics typically go to BMW. The new C-Class will sell a lot. Lots of great reviews. Mercedes ranked 2nd on JDPower Dependability lists. Mercedes is starting to take back its crown of a dependable, solid car.
I rented a Turo MB C300 today... 68K miles and it creaks and rattles down the road... the interior is beautiful and my rental is perfect inside, not a scratch... but It took me 5 minutes to find where the gear shifter was to set into drive... it is on the right steering stalk!!... Lincoln in late 70's to early 80;s put the horn on the right steering stalk... I guess MB thought that was so brilliant that they would follow in Lincoln's footsteps. The engine and tranny are sluggish, I drove a 100K 2016 Audi A4 for a week before now, and it was totally buttoned down goodness in performance and handling.. I hope my next three days changes my mind from my first impressions. Will follow up..
+christian Chichester In this case it is a compliment. The new Cadillac Ats an Cts are phenomenal cars. A simple search will prove this. BUT... I'd still take the C400 Mercedes. It's a damn gorgeous machine!
+DiveDeep Well he said : The BMW (More Accelerating). The Audi (More retainable). The Lexus (More Responsible). And The Cadillac (More American). He said actual facts about The BMW, Audi and The Lexus. But on the other hand The Cadillac is more American?
In other countries European cars are much more reliable due to better ownership Americans think that just because it's a European car that they should not do much maintenance on the car!
The crazy Nun so true I used to be a Benz technician I was shocked at how poorly neglected a lot the cars were and the owners just very ignorant and cheap quite sad really.
And yet here we are with Lexuses and Chevy's that go 200k, 500k, and 1 million miles. While I agree that most people don't take care of their cars properly, don't excuse the germans lack of reliability on it when the rest of the industry is making cars that last.
Mercedes Benz, still have to drive these current gen Mercs but my old merc been so faithful to me through the thick & thin, Hope these youngsters keep the standard
Not only is the nav screen something I don't like about this car, but I absolutely hate how their gearbox is now on the steering wheel where you would normally use the windshield wiper for.
Absolutely nailed it with that closing line. This right here offers the best blend of aesthetics and performance respectively, in my opinion. Let's see if that will still be the case when audi rolls out its new generation of A4s
Honestly I'm really thinking about purchasing one i currently have 2010 Audi Q7 which i just payed off and i genuinely believe i need a smaller which should i get Mercedes Benz C Class or Jaguar Xf.
Are European cars are reliable? I don't follow cars much nor do I know much about them. But I've been starting to like Mercedes and Audi luxury car the more I watched them. But I also read comments on videos with people saying Euro cars are not reliable.
i got an 04 mercedes this month and i love it. it oozes class and quality engineering, you won't understand how great the Germans make a car (I didn't) until you drive it
You can't generalize by saying "European cars". That being said the Germans easily come on top when considering European car makers. You sure can't go wrong with an Audi or a Benz.
They are beautiful and quite intelligently engineered yet they're not necessarily the most reliable cars in the market. They're surely superior in reliability and build quality of French, Italian and British cars, but if we were to consider reliability, Japan's Toyota and Lexus for example are superior over the long run granted they score less in the luxury box.
Is it gas efficient? I'm thinking about buying one in a few weeks and everywhere I look, it doesn't tell me about the "gas facts" idk lol. I just think the car looks nice. thank you if you tell meh though haha
I believe that most of the video was done using the one with the AMG package. Some of the unmistakable exterior feature of the AMG package would be the chrome lip on the front bumper, the diffuser and the twin exhaust outlets. As for the interior it would be the flat based steering wheel.
Can you all go back to using that old sound that you used when you first started doing these videos with Micah or could you send me the sound so I can use it when my text messages come in. I love that sound.
Yes... Surprise us all with a reliable Mercedes... Let us know when that happens... Thanks.. Lets look at the exteroir? Yes.. Lets... And look fast before the clear coat begins to peel... Like it did on my S420 with only 67,000 miles on it.. And my Neighbors S500 that is only 9 years old and with terrible Clear Coat peel.. Sad.. So sad.. And this is the tip of the ice berg.. No more Mercedes for me... You will need 5-10k in the bank to keep them on the road no matter the cosmetics..
Basically the least reliable luxury brand. 2014 Consumer Reports Reliability Survey by owners for vehicles 2004 to present ranked Mercedes-Benz #24 out of 28 car brands. Only Dodge, Ram, Jeep, and Fiat ranked below that.
juukame JD Powers conducted its survey of 41,000 vehicles per year (of 2011 model year cars after 3 yrs of ownership), versus Consumer Reports 1.1 million vehicles per year since 2003. Bear in mind the past partnership with Chrysler.
cadsux Are you saying that there are still signs of the shoddy build quality in Mercs due to their partnership back then? That is, does Merc's past reliability scoring from the Chrysler days weigh into their current score now ? Also, what does the CR survey list as the main problems with Mercs? Is it actual mechanical issues or just infotainment problems? I'm genuinely curious since I was looking at getting a Merc soon. As long as it's mechanically sound I can live with a slightly wonky infotainment. Coming from a 99 ML 320 (probably the least reliable Merc ever) I'm no stranger to high repair costs so that's my primary concern.
Yes and no. In 2013, they ranked #13, so the 2014 models resulted in the drop to #24, with the CLA being the worst model, followed by the GL and S-Class. The problems vary with each model. The CLA had powertrain, body and electrical problems; the GL had powertrain and brake issues, and the S had suspension, brakes and body issues. Although infotainment issues are included in the surveys, powertrain and other mechanical issues factor more heavily into the equation. Consumer Reports did list the E-Class and GLK as a recommended buy. Regardless of "below average reliability" across the brand over the years, owner satisfaction was "better than average". Always buy a car that puts a smile on your face.
I must admit I have never been a fan of Mercedes-Benz. One I always thought the people who drove them where pretentious. Also when I was in Europe and realize that over there they really don't cost much more than a regular sedan I kept thinking that they were ripping us off here in the United States. However, I finally had a chance to rent a Mercedes Benz C Class 2018 with 687 miles on it. Here in the Fort Lauderdale area. I must admit after 2 days I will say the car is solid feels like you're sitting inside of a vault, it is that quiet. The steering itself is extremely accurate the nose goes where the steering wheel is pointed. However the Audi A4 which I drove a few weeks earlier has even better and more accurate steering and it's a little bit lighter. The interior as well as very solid there isn't much fake looking plastic everything feel soft to the touch you feel like you are in a luxury car. However I would say the same thing for the Audi so in this core the interior's feel the same however I like the Audi layout a lot better. the instrument panel and the entertainment system are a lot simpler on the Audi. I spent 3 days with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and I still couldn't figure out the radio so I had to use Bluetooth for all of my entertainment as well as for my cell phone calls. Last thing, both of these cars are considered compact luxury cars but the Mercedes-Benz felt definitely more claustrophobic I had to move my seat a lot further back from the windshield in order to feel comfortable and I'm 6 feet 2 inches tall. There was no room of any significance in the back seat once I moved my front seat to a comfortable position. The Audi A4 was definitely more comfortable and felt more spacious inside for the driver. I would say both of these cars are excellent cars the question is whether you want the Mercedes-Benz 3 pointed star or you want the slightly extra grin factor of the Audi A4.
lol, no, i dont like mercedes but they have absolutely murdered the competition when it comes to exterior styling. When the new bmw 3 series came into our country nobody, literally nobody noticed it, only a few owners of the old 3 series did. everyone else thought it was just the old 3 series.
We have this product back here in India. Allow me to describe its quality. It has shoddy equipments that break down apace it still has that extortionate pricing. (Blame it on GST). I'll quicky elucidate GST. It is our taxation system. Right from its inception it has deterred buyer and potential buyers alike. Our govt believes that we undeserving of anything they offer. Maybe I am digressing from the topic at hand. It exasperates me. I can't find any plausible explanation as to why the govt has to extortionately tax a commodity that is quite common in other parts of the world.
Matt 958 a commodity like this is common in rich developed nations like USA hence the amount of tax is less whereas India is a poor nation where majority people don’t pay taxes hence they’ve to make up for it by taxing the rich
@@vedanttaneja8578 Actually its called unequal distribution of wealth. Politicians want to feed on the gullibilty of the masses. Employment n renumeration is a hassle in India. Good posts for fewer people. Government has also banned the use of sensors on the Indian variant. Most of the US features don't make it to India. Indians hv their mind fixated on fuel economy hence they miss the fun.
Matt 958 not the Indians fault in USA gasoline or as we call it petrol is like 2 dollars a gallon. A gallon consists of 4 litres approx which is about 30 rs a litre whereas in India it’s 90 bucks a litre so obviously Indians want a fuel efficient car because even a fucking hatchback in India is a gas guzzler
The best car made by Mercedes so far, sexy good looking, it pours quality from each inch its just AMAZING very very very well designed from inside out. Many thanks for your awesome review keep it on
It's great for those who want a little more out of their everyday drive. But the 2017 E Class, which will debut in the next few months, promises a lot more.
Kevin Metz The A6 is definitely nice, but the E class just ruins everything this year. It makes it look like you just couldn't afford to get an S Class, but you want one
+Andrew Yang The E-Class is more practical and has historically been a very well-proportioned car. It is, contrary to what the naysayers say, also very reliable, more so than the S-Class, which is an amazing car in it's own regard. I've had a few E-Classes and wouldn't choose anything else. As for looks, the current design of MB is understated elegance, but out of the ordinary.
Being more reliable than an S Class is like saying the word apple starts with a. Can't list any car that is more unreliable. E Class however.... is also unreliable. Maybe second most unreliable car..... I can bet you 100 bucks that if MB was Korean, it would have sunk a long time ago. They have nothing special about the brand, their powertrains or interior. The only special qualities are in the S Class, and those special qualities break down within a few months anyway. Throwing money at a fire sounds fun at the beginning, and gets even more fun as time goes on.
I like the more solid and box like look of the W204 previous models. This one has a decent front end that we have seen on the latest E class and CLA already which is not bad but the rear looks like a Hyundai from half a decade ago. The interior however ( I've drive and sat in a c300) is very nice, the tacky screen is annoying and silly but the dash never felt cheap anywhere else. I think I may just look for a 2014 W204.
In the mid-sized luxury sedan class, the 2016 Acura TLX has better safety features and standards, better user-friendly touchscreen, better handling, REAL leather seats, more spacious backseats, less costly maintenance, and you can get one for almost 8k less than a Mercedes C-Class. It amazes me how some people will buy an inferior product only for the brand.
+mellamopoogy2 With this car, you do get a better interior and exterior, with a more premium feel. With the Acura, all you get is value and reliability. They both however, in my book have infotainment systems that are competing for last place. They are so ugly and outdated.
I'm guessing Mercedes-Benz technicians figured that their customers were of the sort where the learning curve wouldn't be unwanted--it not a plebian car.
I actually had the chance to drive and sit in my friend's new C300 , Gotta admit the interior is pretty nice and feels sporty but I just hate the exterior of those new models for some reasons. I tried to like it but it's just over me. It kinda looks like an old getleman's car and those tailights are just horrible . I really liked the previous model though especially the Facelift one with the upgraded interior. Anyway , nice review man
BMW E46 ...Yeah ! Totally agree...much preferred the previous C-class models...especially the Coupe's. Not too keen on this design it's far too rounded off and just looks too bland and not Mercedes enough looking and by that I mean...It should be more snub nosed, squarer and with a chunkier more aggressive stance like the previous C 63 AMG ...." Now that's a good looking car with real presence on the road " So come on Mercedes don't go down the jelly mould route like most other brands ....Your a Mercedes for God's sake! ...Your supposed to stand out not blend in.
My sis has one. Great in corners and on highway you just turn on cruise control and enjoy. Better then my Audi..I dont think so. Its a great car...Audi is perfection.
Amazing car with two odd flaws: the weird (ugly) placement of the navi/infotainment screen and the weird (read: minivan) placement of the shift lever behind the right side of the steering wheel. Otherwise, a great car!
So it’s a 2017 car but the date the video was published says 2014???
Faden Glover must be a 2015 model
That’s why I’m asking lmao
I think every year they update the title
he traveled to the future and brought back a c class to review it
He prolly edit the video.

This is a 2014/2015 C Class, the 2017 C Class has a different bumper first of all.
Disliked for missleading title for just views
I just can't get on board with how they place the nav in the car. It looks like someone rigged their ipad to work as a nav.
it was done to keep the dashboard smaller. i have a 2013 c300 and the built in display sits inside a hump in the dashboard that reduces visibility.
I love the “iPad look”
If they don't like the back seat it's time for them to buy their own cars.
Weeeeeeeeell.

People can say what they want but these new C class are selling fast, I already see them everywhere
Clous von they're so beautiful for a cheaper car from Mercedes

I think audi is the most comfy but merc is definetly the most stylish :D
So far ahead in fact, this video was posted 2yrs before the vehicle was even built!?
The baby S- Class!!!
Well done

The C400 has a Twin-turbo 3.0 V6. Nothing "Natural" about it.

I love your videos, but I think there's a mistake on the information being delivered? The C400 has a turbocharged engine, not normally aspirated engine, if I remember correctly. Besides that, keep up the good videos!
Ya, there's no way in hell that V6 is naturally aspirated while spitting out 354 lb-ft of torque.
The four pot has a turbo, and all the diesels. The 6 banger is all fluid and natural.
Lenny The Wizard Maybe in some other markets, but not in the USA. Here your options are a turbo 4 or a turbo 6.
Oh I see. Well there's nothing wrong with a turbo, they greatly improve driving.
Lenny The Wizard
Depends on who you ask. Some people prefer the more linear power delivery of a normally aspirated engine. As for me, I prefer the torque surge of a turbo motor, especially one that kicks in down low. Helps for scooting in and out of gaps in city traffic.

Would someone please agree that the tablet mounted on the dash is cheap and pour design.
They might as well mount a Lap top to the to the dash
I love it, it looks so much more classy and sleek!
Not as bad as some others (i.e. 2017 Audis), but point taken
Love the look of this car, but reminds me sooo much of the Suzuki Kizashi.
Isnt the infotainment on the c class touchscreen?Or do we have to use the rotary knob/touchpad?
vyshu7 The Mercedes-Benz COMAND infotainment system does not offer touchscreen functionality.

Does this have the mirror safety thing like the other mb veichles?
Yes, it's standard by MB
what mirror thing?
Perfection never looked so perfect
Could you please do a review on an Audi A5 convertible or Mercedes E convertible
Comparing with the Chevy Malibu 2016 which one will you pick.

Audi and Mercedes are in top most reliable cars on the planet. They are beautiful premium machines.

Because they are integrated in the adaptive LED/Xenon headlights.

I believe that most of the video was done using the one with the AMG package. Some of the unmistakable exterior feature of the AMG package would be the chrome lip on the front bumper, the diffuser and the twin exhaust outlets. As for the interior it would be the flat based steering wheel.
They Hyundai Elantra has a bigger trunk, gets better gas mileage, and has about the same interior space. The radio is also easier to use.
Can you all go back to using that old sound that you used when you first started doing these videos with Micah or could you send me the sound so I can use it when my text messages come in. I love that sound.
How was this reviewed/posted 7 yrs ago when the car is only 5yrs old now???
bout to buy 2015 Mercedes Benz c300 AMG package SAT wish me luck!

Hmm, that's surprising; JD Power has Mercedes ranked as 2nd in terms of reliability. And it's been within top 5 for a number of years now.
juukame
JD Powers conducted its survey of 41,000 vehicles per year (of 2011 model year cars after 3 yrs of ownership), versus Consumer Reports 1.1 million vehicles per year since 2003. Bear in mind the past partnership with Chrysler.
cadsux
Are you saying that there are still signs of the shoddy build quality in Mercs due to their partnership back then?
Your videos are the best!
Hopefully I can get this an an auction tomorrow starting at 500
Great cars.....and all for the price of a new Chevy or Ford....no brainer!
Insightful review. I was absolutely won over by this car and it was easy to jump ship from BMW to MB.
sorry BMW and cadillac models both look better exterior wise... though i think the C class interior may take the top of those other two.
lol, no, i dont like mercedes but they have absolutely murdered the competition when it comes to exterior styling. When the new bmw 3 series came into our country nobody, literally nobody noticed it, only a few owners of the old 3 series did. everyone else thought it was just the old 3 series.
The benz interior is better except for the ridiculous central display
no doubt. i do like the interior of the 4 series more though. especially if you get M Sport package.
Yeah true if you drive a Mercedes people think you are rich. And if you drive anything below a 6 series people assume its the cheap 3 series.
Many thanks for your awesome review keep it on
Errr... best car MB made lol not even close forgot about the E and S classes?
+Carl Clark Forgot about the Maybach? XD
The sedan version would have looked 100x better with the coupe front.
I find the materials and buttons a little cheap looking. But that's alright it doesn't bother me.
It's great for those who want a little more out of their everyday drive.
But the 2017 E Class, which will debut in the next few months, promises a lot more.
Why would you get an E class when you can get any other car in its class with more refinement, technology and modernity, for a lower price?
+Andrew Yang Pft! Good one XD Like what, a Camry?
Nothing touches the A6 and E-Class in the executive segment.
Interior looks busy,....interior looks like a sci fi movie..
This is car is like nearly twice the price in my country
I don't care that there isn't a lot of room in the back, I'm never going to be sat there.
I feel like I'm watching an ad rather than a review
In the mid-sized luxury sedan class, the 2016 Acura TLX has better safety features and standards, better user-friendly touchscreen, better handling, REAL leather seats, more spacious backseats, less costly maintenance, and you can get one for almost 8k less than a Mercedes C-Class. It amazes me how some people will buy an inferior product only for the brand.
The acura is boring to drive and look at. Come on now, its inexpensive and is a tech bargain but if flunks out in all the other categories
+Grant Schneider you're boring to drive and look at
+mellamopoogy2 With this car, you do get a better interior and exterior, with a more premium feel. With the Acura, all you get is value and reliability. They both however, in my book have infotainment systems that are competing for last place. They are so ugly and outdated.
Same deal with iPhone. There's something called brand value.
nice turn
I'm guessing Mercedes-Benz technicians figured that their customers were of the sort where the learning curve wouldn't be unwanted--it not a plebian car.
Is no one talking about how this is a 2017 Mercedes, but its made in 2014..
Anyway , nice review man
BMW E46 u r old school
BMW E46
As long as it has a button for Tow truck.. You should make it to the shop anyway.... Then home with a cab...
Job well done.
I thought Thomas (autogefuhl) was good, but he is boring, Micah.....funny! love his witty review
It is a nice little car.
looks like mini s500 :P
Yes very true :D I believe they were aiming for that. The taillights are identical except the C has 2 red LED pairs on each side where the S has 3.
Now we just have to wait an see on how reliable it is
I bet thousands have already broken down
This was shot in long beach!
German car makers suck at making intuitive cabin UI, why?!?! Just copy Apple and make it a touch screen, it already looks like and iPad.
well made video, great car!
Thanks, Rusty!
Amazing car with two odd flaws: the weird (ugly) placement of the navi/infotainment screen and the weird (read: minivan) placement of the shift lever behind the right side of the steering wheel. Otherwise, a great car!
I'm getting this bad boy at the end of this month
I wish a had one of them cars
yes got 2016 c 300
My only complaint is how cars like this take premium gas only. That's well over 1,000 a year compared to the toyota camry.
But, in the end of the day. would you rather have a camry, or a Mercedes?
+otton lara a Camry
+otton lara a lexus
