Vani jayaram ji made her name in SOUTH FILM industry. Anuradha Paudwal is a sweet voice singer but not as sweet as Lata Mangeshkar. Sumanji sang a duet with Mohammed Rafiji in the film BACHPAN ( Mere Hum O Sanam, tu Kahan, meh Kahan --. It is an old film released in late 1960's, I am not sure of the correct year, I have seen the film. I wasv14 years old. Luckily someone played this song in U tube. The actor was handsome Salim Khan(father of Salman Khan) and the actress was Menaka Irani, elder sister of Daisy & Honey Irani. She looked attractive. Their photos were showed when the duet song was played and it was announced that Suman Kalyanpur & Rafiji sang . She has also sang a song alone in that film.

It is true (sorry to say) that Lata ji ruined the career of so many co artists like Geeta Dutt, Suman Kalyanpur, Vani Jayram, Hemlata etc. by influencing her power & blackmailing producers to establish herself as a No.1 singer in bollywood. There are so many facts & evidence regarding her conspiracy. There was not a single person in bollywood to protest against her. She even boycotted God like man Rafi Sahab for ' jugalbandi' w. r. t royalty issue. Later retreated for her own harvest interest. She hindered the entry of great bengali singer Sandhya Mukhopadhyay in bollywood & maintained no relation with her. Nobody listened any appreciation at her end to any contemporary female singer. Any reason why both S D Burman & Anil Biswas, both of whom liked Sandhya Mukherjee very much, created their best tunes for Lata Mangeshkar? I am refering to the period of 1951 to 53, when Lata was as young as Sandhya & both S D & Anil Biswas were senior & respected composers. On a parallel note, both the compoers were extremely fond of Geeta Dutt too. Yet, Lata got better songs than Geeta (on a level playing field, i.e. movies outside of Guru Dutt Productions).

The comparison is nicely brought out in the song haal-e-dil unko sunana tha sung by Sumanji and later by Lataji where the lyrics are a bit different. The films, music directors and lyricists are also different. Lataji's voice is sugar syrupy and Sumanji's has the subtleness of fragrant flowers.

handsome Salim Khan(father of Salman Khan) and the actress was Menaka Irani, elder sister of Daisy & Honey Irani. She looked attractive. Their photos were showed when the duet song was played and it was announced that Suman Kalyanpur & Rafiji sang . She has also sang a song alone in that film.

It is true (sorry to say) that Lata ji ruined the career of so many co artists like Geeta Dutt, Suman Kalyanpur, Vani Jayram, Hemlata etc. by influencing her power & blackmailing producers to establish herself as a No.1 singer in bollywood. There are so many facts & evidence regarding her conspiracy. There was not a single person in bollywood to protest against her. She even boycotted God like man Rafi Sahab for ' jugalbandi' w. r. t royalty issue. Later retreated for her own harvest interest. She hindered the entry of great bengali singer Sandhya Mukhopadhyay in bollywood & maintained no relation with her. Nobody listened any appreciation at her end to any contemporary female singer. She left a black image obviously being a great singer. A great singer she is, but not a great person.
Any reason why both S D Burman & Anil Biswas, both of whom liked Sandhya Mukherjee very much, created their best tunes for Lata Mangeshkar?
I am refering to the period of 1951 to 53, when Lata was as young as Sandhya & both S D & Anil Biswas were senior & respected composers.
On a parallel note, both the compoers were extremely fond of Geeta Dutt too. Yet, Lata got better songs than Geeta (on a level playing field, i.e. movies outside of Guru Dutt Productions).
Look at Lata mangeshkar's Life style. She was living like a monk. she was a vegetarian. She never drank alcohole. never wore expensive clothings. never wore jewelleries. She was not a greedy person at all .not greedy for fame or money. Why would she destroy other people's career ?

A fentastic singer indeed. No doubt her voice texure has a soothing effect. Mere mehboob na jao aajki raat na jao is one of my favourites. It's so sad to hear that she was sidelined by her counterparts in her good old days. I am surprised to see that many of the songs which I believed was of Lethajis viucebus actually sung by this legendary singer. Hats off to this episode on Suman kalyanpur.
