Thanks for sharing your stories, I'm glad I've met you at SIGGRAPH Asia at Brisbane in November 2019 because I wanted to see what kind of career path I can take with animation and also figuring out what disciplines I want to specialise in long term. Your stories have made me reflect my learning experiences and goals to carefully plan for the future. I really want to get a career in the film industry in USA/Canda/AUS and work on feature films but it's hard due to visa compliances with a Malaysian passport. Therefore, I have to lean towards becoming a 3D generalist, instead of a CG specialist to get more job opportunities in smaller studios. Hope to see you again in the next SIGGRAPH Asia in Daegu!
I am glad to hear that, hope i can see you again 😊
thank you alessandro for this wonderful indepth challenges of your life .... It gives a picture of what we might face as beginners in this industry.
You really share a lot about jobs in animation industry , could you also make a video about full time Freelance animators, like whether to choose or when to choose freelance and considering present scenarios what might be in future for freelance Artists . Thanks.
Thankyou for the story! very cool to hear how you kept at it and improved your skill to get to where you are, Just finished my first year with a company and dont know where my future may lead but this was encouraging :)
i dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Merrick Christian Instablaster ;)
@Jaxon Peyton i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now.
Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Jaxon Peyton It worked and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you really help me out :D
@Merrick Christian you are welcome :D
cheerz alessandro .. we always learn from u .. keep it animating man ..
thank you for your story, these are helping me understand what should I do in the future!!
Happy to hear that
Thank you very much for sharing your experience. That's exactly the kind of honesty and content I was looking for!
I'm willing to change my 2D cutout animation carrer to a 3D one exactly because the profits are really low, compared to the 3D, also I'm tired of TV series. I want to push quality from my work.
Could you talk more about your game carrer? It got me curious, how different it is from the feature in term of routine, which studios rely too much on mograph and which doesn't?
Thanks!
Thank you man for sharing your experience.
Thank you. very helpful and interesting. As someone who wants to break into the industry in the future this was super useful.
which carrier is a good and secure, game animator or character animator in movie.
I cant wait for your tutorials. I had learned so mucch from you. Thank you.
Again I totally love how you're brutally honesty about all things about this business.
It's so interesting to hear about all your struggles.
I was wondering you said after AM you hired a private mentor?
Since you enjoy teaching so much and want stability, which I can totally understand considering,
how you have lept all over the world back and fourth.
Have you not thought about starting your own mentor ship program?
Like many other high profile animators.
Since you worked on Oddbots I think you might have worked with Rusty Gray?
He runs his own teaching now I'm a former student of one of his courses.
And I know someone else who worked on that too, I just don't recall who right now.
Also would you consider doing some games animation tutorial, or is that something you rather not do anymore?
Or maybe even to complicated as they are quite a deal more technical in terms of where some animation starts and stops and how they all need to blend back to idle and has to be able to break out of and into another at any given moment etc.
But I think there are very few good free game animation tutorials online.
I have a final question to and that concerns the main control of the rig.
When I was in school we were old to always leave that behind as we animate.
As that's the point of reference the coders use to place the characters in the game.
But I recently joined AnimDojo and I see that Bader Badruddin moves it all the time?
So is it only for games we are not supposed to move it?
B/c things becomes so much more easy, if and when we are allowed to move it for any type of turns , flips in the air for instance.
This is a topic that I never got to terms with so would be nice to know what's the correct approach once and for all.
Cheers for all the good work.
I am definitely too young to be a full time teacher, i rather stay longer in the industry and continue to grow
I figured you were in Singapore! Something about the architecture is really specific. 😂 Thanks again for sharing your experience! I'm preparing to get into Animation Mentor soon! 🙏
Good luck😊🍀
Thanks for sharing Alessandro!
Thank you very much for sharing all this ❤
Sir, you made a video about making poses through blendsheps and pushing poses more than my rig... but I didn't get that points clearly, could you make a detailed tutorial on it later...
thank you so much for your replies, Sir...
First of all thank you so much for sharing, very interesting! I have sort of personal question regarding you moving around the world all the time - what about your family, children? I find it very hard to go somewhere and leave my daughter at home even for a couple of months.. So that leads to another question - is it possible to find a job lets say on a feature film as an animator from distance, where you can animate from home or office without going somewhere for a long time? Thank you
Some studio allow remote work.. But not that many...
You can work as freelance but you need always to chase clients
@@acamporota Thank you
thanks a lot, sir... if you could make a tutorial on Expression and lipsync, that would be very very helpful too
There are both on my channel already
@@acamporota oh... thanks a lot sir..
Which software is used in gaming animation 🤗
Sir can you tell me step by step topics for animation in Maya so I can go through all your videos step by step
Hi sir I had a doubt
While animation to avoid intersection of mesh is there any thing that we can do. For example if two characters are doing handshake so how can we avoid the intersection???? In maya
And please make a video on how to clean and used mocap.
Could you make a video on how to integrate animation in unreal engine.
I like how you talk about working more in your free time. It's something I considered doing, but I'm also worried about having time to rest and relax... People tell you it's not healthy to just work 24/7. So how do you balance your job with working on your own stuff at home and also having time to relax?
Working on my personal animation is what i enjoy the most. So i guess thats what give me the energy.
But as you say is important to rest too. I would say once a month i use to take 2 day off.. Also for me animation is now work, but passion, so not so tiring
Bro, please I'm requesting you, please do a turtorial on rey rig facial acting tutorial, and few jump and action animation's with other rigs, please bro
Ciao Alessandro! At 5:15 you talk about being a MoCap cleanup artist and I know that’s not what you wanted to do, but in my case that’s what I want to do!! How and where can I study to be a MoCap cleanup artist? There are lots of online Animation schools (Animation Mentor, iAnimate, AnimSchool, AnimSquad, etc) and lots of Animation courses in prestigious universities but I can’t find a Motion Capture course anywhere! Where can I learn MoCap from scratch? (for reference, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and I have studied animation, including 2D, stop-motion and now 3D)
Before you learn how to improve the mocap you need to learn the animation... Once you get the job, they will teach you how to clean up and improve the mocap
Alessandro Camporota Hi, thanks for replying! So... do you think with a good animation reel one could get a job in MoCap even without MoCap experience? All the job postings I see for MoCap ask for previous MoCap experience (+ stuff like Motion Builder, Blade, Python, etc) which makes me think it’s really hard to find an entry level job in the field. What kind of entry level jobs should I be looking for in order to build a path that leads to MoCap?
@@ConstanzaRigazio you have to look for a intern position or for a junior.
Love you sir you are great 😘
Thanks for sharing! this was great :) I didn't know you were able to get temporary jobs as an international in Canada. Did they sponsor you?
if you mean for the working visa.... yes, they have to
