That was very helpful and I too believe good posing is very important... I remember when I started learning animation. My mentor taught me to do only posing.. For many months I did only posing and then he taught me rest of the things... It's like a good pose can give u major stuff, even offsetting, L&F, good spacing, appeal and more... Great video! It recollected my learning days... Thanks man! Your video's are very helpful
Great video thank you! I once read an 3D animator calling poses 'drawings' which they are really, they are shown on a screen which is 2D, so treat them as so! Strong poses = awesome animation.
I think we have just to focus on have appealing animation, because appeal is culmination of all the others principles, including timing, great poses... Personaly, i think time is most important than great poses, but obviosly, i want to have great poses too.
I was told by one of my teachers that every frame should look like a comic book drawing. That sounds very overwhelming, but it really is about super good posing and in the later stage maybe some frame to frame polishing too.
I don't know who gives you thumbs down, your videos are awesome. Thanks a lot for the advice, I was wondering when you were gonna post again! Stay safe :)
I basically went back to reading the illusion of life book it's time to go study that more than ever yeah its a pain a big heavy book. But were in this pandemic and studying to become better animators why not.
I agree with you! Having solid poses is very important when learning and progressing through 3d animation. I do however think that you saying there is no point in animating and moving forward with animating is not the best mindset to send out. I think the way you phrased your words can be misleading and discouraging. I still agree that students should focus way more on solid posing, but they should also still practice animation and exploring how it works. The way you went about saying things I feel could leak into other areas of art. Like why move past the bouncing ball / your first chair sculpt if you can't get it to look correct at all. I like your message, but I disagree with how you went about saying it.
