I was 6 years old when I remember watching this with my mother she was crying, I will never forget seeing Bryan dobsons reaction on the television we had, 22 years on and it's still fresh in my mind viewing this on television a child
I remember also where i was i was in 2nd class...I remember coming home looking at the tv from 3:00 till 6:30 Never took my eyes off the screen!!! Rip...
Me and my nanny watched this live in Dublin. Afterwards she took me to the church and lit enough candles to burn another hole in the ozone layer. I had only been collected from play school.
I was only 6, but I remember my mam crying while watching the coverage on TV. We thought my aunt and uncle were in one of the twin towers. Thank God they werent in the building, but my heart goes out to all those affected. RIP xxxx
i remember seeing this, i was in 2nd class, i came home, my mam said sean, quick, look at the tv... she said, thats the buildings me and your dad were on, theyre gone... i was too young to know exactly what was going on, ill never forget that day
I remember I was in Forbidden Planet on the quays in Dublin when a friend sent me the text "America is under attack" as it happened. I figured some sort of siege - it's only later that evening when I got home that I saw the full scale of what was going on. Watched the news for about 6 hours straight after that.
I was in Waterford City Centre when all this was going on. I overheard people talking about planes but didn't know what was going on. Later that evening at home I turned on the TV at around 6:03pm and heard on the Six-one News "plane hit World Trade Center" "second plane hit World Trade Center" "plane hit Pentagon" "World Trade Center Tower collapsed" "second World Center Tower collapsed". That was a lot of information to get in 45 seconds.
Three hundred firemen died in those buildings that day. While most people were going down the stairs to get out they went up the stairs to help people. At the end of the day there were empty fire stations throughout Manhattan with no firemen left to serve. God Bless the New York City Fire Department!
I was on my home way from France that day. My parents and I had crossed the channel and driven all the way across England to Holyhead.. when we got to the lounge on the boat, we saw people glued to the news on the television set. At first, we thought a good film was on.
Respond to this video... I remember watching this exact clip with my 6th class homework in front of me 10 years ago today, at first I thought it was a film then Tony Blair came onscreen. Took me hours to do my homework because this was so shocking especially when they filmed people falling from the buildings. Then went into school the next day and not many in the class got their homework completely correct or there was bits missing. Strange enough the teacher understood.
I was only nine... I do remember doing my homework in front of the tv that day, which I never did... But I didn't really understand what was going on. Not like I do today. Ignorance really is bliss...
I'd just gotten off the bus on my way to work when I first heard the news. I'd just gotten a bottled water at a nearby building when the radio on the canteen truck where I got it was blasting WBZ's coverage of the tragedy.
I wasn't born at this time, but my mother was watching this live in horror. And what scares my sister about 9/11 is that it happened the year she was born.
I was in 3rd class i think, came in just after the first tower had gone down. Remember saying to myself, no no the other tower is behind it, we just cant see it from this angle. My gran was in bits because all my uncles work downtown, one of them was actaually sitting in his car in traffic right outside the towers when the first plane hit! Lucky he wasnt killed by falling material....
i was in ms maloneys second year science double when the first plane hit. we were disecting sheeps hearts and no one was told what had happened. i found out two hours later-was walking home and my dad pulled up in the car beside me and told me what had happened.watched the tv till i dont know what hour that night. i clearly remember thinking how we'd been joking and laughing in science that afternoon without a notion that the world had completely changed outside
@yoyo5678x i was nine too when it happened....it was actually on my birthday! i remember my mam telling me what had happened but i didnt really understand what was going on either.

It was the day after my 16th birthday, and it was my dad's birthday. Now he feels guilty whenever it comes around.

Upload more...especially around 3 o'clock! RTE really aren't meant to do breaking news.
I was at home having lunch at the age of 5.
