I'm so glad you mentioned them. A lot of Hausa deny having cousins here in America yet can't explain why Chadian Arabic scripts were seized from slaves in Carolina. Lol to any of you who think my Mende,Yoruba,or Ibo ancestors were fluent in this writing system ,I have a hard time picturing my Bambara ancestor adopting a Afro Asiatic writing system seeing as how they absolutely hated anything related to North Africa or West Asians .they even built elaborate walls to keep them out of their lands.
We are not denying anyone outside Africa that says they are part us hausa rather we are happy our brothers outside Africa found out that they are part of us...we are very humble and hospitalise people everyone knows this in and outside Nigeria
Brother we do not denied our brothers who where carried out to America for slavery we really feel and like them dearly so feel at home when you come to Nigeria your home.
The greatest Hausa warrior is not queen amina but a warrior king named Muhammadu Kanta. Kanta defeated the Songhai empire under the rule of Songhai king “Askia muhammad" in 15th century. He also defeated and protect the Hausa from Borno empire, No doubt Amina is a great but she is no greater than Kanta. One more thing 95% of the picture people used in making this video are from his Kingdom, Argungu emirate, the only hausa kingdom the great fodio sokoto caliphate faild to defeat, This is to tell you what a warrior kanta and his children are. You need to make video about him, his history and time is well documented.
Another good exposition. Hausa's are also in Almost all West African countries. They are traders and black market money changers Unlike the Fulanis who are usually Normads and pasturist and raiders the Hausa's settle down in their adoptive country and do reside in the Zongos like you've mentioned

That Naija girl. The languages are 95% the same. It’s how they have ekiti Yoruba or egba or ijebu. Or Igbos from mbaise or arochukwu. They live in different parts and so you find some variations but efik and ibibio understand each other except the accents are different. They also have different Kings like how the ijebu has a king or Lagos has a different one. Some may say they are different because efik had contact with Europeans early and some have English last names and culturally they’re very very close.

Can we stop using the word slave (slave comes from Slav) when referring to class systems or an occupation in Africa, there’s too much negative connotations with that word, since it’ll be looked at like chattel slavery in America. Servant is a little better to disassociate from chattel slavery. Where that servitude was adept throughout the world. And then you had indentured servitude, for those paying off a debt. Because you’re using slave as an umbrella term when you should be referring to specifics
The question is whether or not the "slaves" HOME TEAM referenced in this video were considered "owned" by these so called "masters." For if they were, then what difference does it make if he used the word "slaves" instead of servants? Maybe you could tell us.
Sol i EXACTLY THANK YOU, Africans NEVER practiced slavery they practiced indentured servitude, there is no evidence of slavery being practiced in non muslim Africa, that is a myth that white supremacists dreamed up to absolve themselves of their self inflicted white guilt because they were not comfortable being the villain of human history so they tried to come up with a lie to blame their victims instead, too many blacks have fallen for this lie just because the white supremacists repeat it so often that people begin to believe it, tell a lie once and it remains a lie, tell a lie a thousand times and it becomes the truth to the masses and for many, no amount of proof can convince them that they were lied to because its already in their subconscious. We need to stop allowing those who rewrote history in their favor the power to dictate what reality is, they only distort what is real to fit their own primitive hostile hate driven ego. They don't care about the truth. Only what makes them feel strong.
Dak G They’re not “slave masters”, there’s a huge difference between indentured or debt servitude in Africa and chattel slavery in America which was based on racism, exploitation, and hatred
@@shawnhall3849 Thank you. However you will note that I actually inquired whether or not they "owned" them as in chattel slavery. This is because I do not know. So again, thank you. I hope HOME TEAM will chip in and offer his perspective given he is a knowledgeable young man and very well researched.

Wow, so the HAUSA people had ORIGINS from IRAQ (ASSYRIA), this shows that ANCIENT WEST AFRICA was inhabited by many different NEWCOMERS from the FAR EAST, such as EGYPTIANS, KUSHITES, CANAANITES (PHOENICIANS), PERSIANS and ASSYRIANS who's origins go all the way back to the PHARAOHS and KING NIMROD. You should do the khoisan and the Tuareg people's. They're both nomadic tribes with interesting backgrounds.
@Lumani LuLu who told khoi migrated from north Africa?
@Lumani LuLu they've always been in South Africa 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Khoisan are not nomadic, they are hungry gatherers. Tuareg people are nomadic, they stay in one vast area, but move to different positions
Of Hausa descent. Thank you! This is like getting in touch with a history that was kept from me.

I just found out that I am Yourba and Hausa.. I can't believe it!!! 💕💞 This is so big for me because I grew up not knowing where I was from just African American. No other heritage, no nothing and now I know where I come from...💓🌄

I’m married to a Hausa man. He’s a good man. We love him ♥️
Thank you for making these incredible and informative videos. Learning about the Home Team has been amazing.
My Gedmatch matches me to Hausa tribe
Mende people could read and write Arabic because they were Muslim very early on.
Thank you home team for taking the time to give us African history thank you very much.
Apart Argungu Kingdom, there was its neighbour: the Kingdom of Arewa in Niger Republic.. I can understand you because they were allies
Interesting stuff! Where did you learn all of that?

Another good exposition. Hausa's are also in Almost all West African countries. They are traders and black market money changers Unlike the Fulanis who are usually Normads and pasturist and raiders the Hausa's settle down in their adoptive country and do reside in the Zongos like you've mentioned

efik-ibibio are the same
No wonder their attire is so similar!! Do they speak the same language? I wonder why they are two different tribes then 🤔
What about the Yoruba people?
Jazmyn Brown yeah I agree.

Dak G
They’re not “slave masters”, there’s a huge difference between indentured or debt servitude in Africa and chattel slavery in America which was based on racism, exploitation, and hatred
@@shawnhall3849 Thank you. However you will note that I actually inquired whether or not they "owned" them as in chattel slavery. This is because I do not know. So again, thank you. I hope HOME TEAM will chip in and offer his perspective given he is a knowledgeable young man and very well researched.
Sol i,,, right our own people especially African Americans love calling our selves slaves,,,to me its worst than the "n" word almost.

We BLACK AMERICANS and WEST AFRICANS have the RICHEST and GLORIOUS PAST of all.
No
YES
Iraq?? Wtf
Yes a LONG SAIL across the MEDITERRANEAN SEA to the ATLANTIC OCEAN can get you to WEST AFRICA from ASIA and IRAQ, but before these ASIATIC CUSHITES came into WEST AFRICA the EGYPTIANS, NAPATANS (AFRICAN KUSHITES), LIBYANS and CARTHAGINIANS (PHOENICIANS) were already there.
He obviously said that the guy supposedly came to west Africa and encounters existing civilization. Why can’t we be “african” and happy? Why do we always need to fantasize about a supposed “Arab” father or something?
