They’ve always had some songs on their albums that have meaningful content. From Death To Destiny is actually full of them. The main difference between,like,that album and this one is just the way they presented the lyrics. Less scream singing and a slightly softer sound. I’m not sure if it’s maturity as much as it is a change in musical preference.

I'm 31 years old and I haven't cried since I was 14 years old when my parents killed themselves and my sister passed away the same year and was left completely alone. Ever since then I haven't been able to shed a tear and and believe me I tried to but I just couldn't do it. I'll listen to the song and broke down instantly. This song got me through a hard time. I tried to forget what I was feeling in that moment but this reminded me how important is to actually let yourself feel it all. I was scared of being alone so I always told my parents or someone to keep me company. Later on to realize "all I needed was the last thing I wanted, to sit alone in a room and say it all out loud " "A couple years back and forth with myself in a cage" making reference to how much I lost myself in a relationship, how much I've lost track of myself in that moment and time.
I had that feeling when my mom died when I was 19 years old. After that I never being the same. Sometime bad things are good for you, life is a shit. But no matter how life strikes, is important to get up and move foward. That is how warriors are born rigth.

This song is truly inspirational to me. I’ve always been a fan of it but I didn’t actually do what the song says until 2 years ago during my first stay in a mental hospital. I have bipolar 1 so the part that says “I seem to lose grip on reality” is literally my life sometimes. My first time in the mental hospital I spent a lot of time alone in a room. And I paced the room singing this song. Then I did what the song says, I said it all out loud, every moment, every second, every trespass, every awful thing, every broken dream.” I finally allowed the song to become personal. My second stay in the mental hospital was a little over a month ago. I did the same thing again, because I have grown and changed since 2 years ago. However, this time I felt comfortable enough to share this song with others in there as well during our short music therapy session. And I encouraged everyone to not only listen but do what the song says. Several people afterwards told me how they participated and felt so much better and even had me write down the song for them so they’d know it when they get released. This song, this band, has always felt close to my heart. However, this song has inspired me enough that I want an AA tattoo once I get the money ❤️🤘🏻
Iván Ochoa My interpretation is that Alone in A Room is about the phase during and after From Death To Destiny because we can see Ben struggling at writing all these songs. Sam gets mad and takes some time for himself on the motor bike. It would fit to the things Danny said in some interviews, meaning that it was just a matter of time that one of them would break away and that they were all about ignore each other because they just couldn’t stand they way everything was going. Then Into The Fire is about the moment he left the band so the news hits them hard like a car. He left them alone. But I guess it’s just up to interpretation which is great. :)
So, if this is the prequel of “Into The Fire” video, and theres a “To Be Continued...” at the end of it, than there’s at leats one more music video to come.... HELL YEAH, I’M READY

As for my theory behind this video, here is my take on it. It is apparent that Danny has two personalities, and that they're fighting over his physical form. There is the old Danny that people are upset that he no longer is, the reckless teenager, and the Danny that he is now, the grown up, mature Danny. This video chronicles him leaving Asking Alexandria due to his conflicting wants, his addiction problems, and how he needed time to work on his solo career (being "Alone in a Room"). At 0:50, it shows how Ben is having a hard time writing without Danny (presumably when they were writing "The Black." I also went into photoshop and tried to edit the brightness and contrast levels on Ben's writings, and I THINK it says "He's been away, a little while, sometimes I just can't help myself," writing as if he was writing Alone in a Room while Danny was away, talking about Danny, however when Danny sings it he is talking about himself, so he sings "I've been away for a little while.") When the bad Danny sits down next to him, Ben smiles, showing that it was the bad side of Danny that gave him inspiration to write the album, almost out of spite (like the song "Sometimes it Ends"). At 1:00, Danny has a face of regret, for he feels that all his friends, who he has spent the last decade with, hate him now. At 1:36, we see the rebellious, bad Danny, feeding alcohol to Cameron and James. Alcohol in literature is often used as a metaphor for poison, symbolizing that the bad Danny was poising Asking Alexandria. The part with Sam at 1:56 shows his frustration and anger at the fact that Danny just left them, as the mature Danny looks at him a face of remorse and regret. The smashing of the Not the American Average record shows that Sam, along with the rest of the band, are ready to grow up as well and write more mature music. At 2:50, we see the mature, grown up, and clean Danny fighting to grasp for control of his life and his future. At the end, we see bad Danny drive off, leading to Into the Fire. Which, that song is a whole nother can of worms I don't want to get into right now, haha.

I have high functioning neurodivergence as well as gender dysphoria and suicidal ideations, this song I feel like embodies everything I feel in a day and how overwhelming it can be, and how sometimes all you need is to just sit alone in your room and face the s++t that makes me, me and eventually I realized that I am an amazing person and all the things that others may put me down for or want to hurt me for is my strength because the moment I embraced myself, all those thing no longer mattered and I am more "normal" and confident than those society says are. Music has such power and music saved my life. In this dark hate filled world I am so grateful for music and for bands like you guys for giving me light.

22.06.22. В первый раз читаю эту работу. Раньше я часто зависала на фикбуке и слышала о «Кьюриосити», но как такового интереса у меня не возникало. Я читаю только 3 главу и уже жалею, что не нашла в себе сил прочитать ее раньше. Я так давно себя не чувствовала себя так. Эмоции просто переполняют меня. За эти три главы ещё ничего не произошло, но желание рыдать очень сильное и я, читая эти милые моменты с ними, смеюсь сквозь слёзы. Я не знаю что чувствовать. This song is truly inspirational to me. I’ve always been a fan of it but I didn’t actually do what the song says until 2 years ago during my first stay in a mental hospital. I have bipolar 1 so the part that says “I seem to lose grip on reality” is literally my life sometimes. My first time in the mental hospital I spent a lot of time alone in a room. And I paced the room singing this song. Then I did what the song says, I said it all out loud, every moment, every second, every trespass, every awful thing, every broken dream.” I finally allowed the song to become personal. My second stay in the mental hospital was a little over a month ago. I did the same thing again, because I have grown and changed since 2 years ago. However, this time I felt comfortable enough to share this song with others in there as well during our short music therapy session. And I encouraged everyone to not only listen but do what the song says. Several people afterwards told me how they participated and felt so much better and even had me write down the song for them so they’d know it when they get released. This song, this band, has always felt close to my heart. However, this song has inspired me enough that I want an AA tattoo once I get the money ❤️🤘🏻

Iván Ochoa My interpretation is that Alone in A Room is about the phase during and after From Death To Destiny because we can see Ben struggling at writing all these songs. Sam gets mad and takes some time for himself on the motor bike. It would fit to the things Danny said in some interviews, meaning that it was just a matter of time that one of them would break away and that they were all about ignore each other because they just couldn’t stand they way everything was going. Then Into The Fire is about the moment he left the band so the news hits them hard like a car. He left them alone. But I guess it’s just up to interpretation which is great. :)

As for my theory behind this video, here is my take on it. It is apparent that Danny has two personalities, and that they're fighting over his physical form. There is the old Danny that people are upset that he no longer is, the reckless teenager, and the Danny that he is now, the grown up, mature Danny. This video chronicles him leaving Asking Alexandria due to his conflicting wants, his addiction problems, and how he needed time to work on his solo career (being "Alone in a Room"). At 0:50, it shows how Ben is having a hard time writing without Danny (presumably when they were writing "The Black." I also went into photoshop and tried to edit the brightness and contrast levels on Ben's writings, and I THINK it says "He's been away, a little while, sometimes I just can't help myself," writing as if he was writing Alone in a Room while Danny was away, talking about Danny, however when Danny sings it he is talking about himself, so he sings "I've been away for a little while.") When the bad Danny sits down next to him, Ben smiles, showing that it was the bad side of Danny that gave him inspiration to write the album, almost out of spite (like the song "Sometimes it Ends"). At 1:00, Danny has a face of regret, for he feels that all his friends, who he has spent the last decade with, hate him now. At 1:36, we see the rebellious, bad Danny, feeding alcohol to Cameron and James. Alcohol in literature is often used as a metaphor for poison, symbolizing that the bad Danny was poising Asking Alexandria. The part with Sam at 1:56 shows his frustration and anger at the fact that Danny just left them, as the mature Danny looks at him a face of remorse and regret. The smashing of the Not the American Average record shows that Sam, along with the rest of the band, are ready to grow up as well and write more mature music. At 2:50, we see the mature, grown up, and clean Danny fighting to grasp for control of his life and his future. At the end, we see bad Danny drive off, leading to Into the Fire. Which, that song is a whole nother can of worms I don't want to get into right now, haha.

Honestly have heard of the band all my life, but never listened. I know I’ll get hate for that comment but I’m 24 now; and just listen to the song and think this is amazing. Don’t know the history of who left and who is what.. all I know this is dope, and they should keep doing what they’re doing.

I have high functioning neurodivergence as well as gender dysphoria and suicidal ideations, this song I feel like embodies everything I feel in a day and how overwhelming it can be, and how sometimes all you need is to just sit alone in your room and face the s++t that makes me, me and eventually I realized that I am an amazing person and all the things that others may put me down for or want to hurt me for is my strength because the moment I embraced myself, all those thing no longer mattered and I am more "normal" and confident than those society says are. Music has such power and music saved my life. In this dark hate filled world I am so grateful for music and for bands like you guys for giving me light.
